Describing the Akali Dal's decision of snapping ties with the NDA over farm bills as “unfortunate”, Punjab’s senior BJP leaders on Sunday asserted that the party can fight and win the 2022 Punjab assembly polls alone.

BJP's senior Punjab leader Manoranjan Kalia said that the Akalis had taken a U-turn after initially supporting the farms bills.

He added that BJP had always tried to accommodate the SAD but now there was a generational change in the Akali Dal after several veteran leaders left the party.
