US may have 2 Covid vaccines by November end

Two American companies expect to apply for emergency approval for their Covid-19 vaccines by late November, news agency AFP has reported. The news comes amid a third surge of coronavirus cases in the US where the infections have touched 8 million. Drugmaker Pfizer said on Friday that it hopes to move ahead with its vaccine after safety data is available in the third week of November. Bio firm Moderna is also aiming for November 25 to seek authorization for its Covid vaccine. But experts have warned that even when vaccines are approved, it will take many months until they are widely available.
