iQOO is preparing to launch its new iQOO 12 smartphone in India on December 12, marking a significant addition to its portfolio. This smartphone is unique as it's the first non-Pixel phone to come with Android 14.

Additionally, there's excitement around the upcoming iQOO Neo 9 series, expected to be unveiled soon in China. This series will include the iQOO Neo 9 and Neo 9 Pro smartphones.

iQOO Neo 9 Series: A Closer Look

The IMEI listing of the smartphones indicates that the vanilla model will bear the model number V2338A, while the Pro variant obtained IMEI certification with the model number V2339A.

The upcoming smartphones are expected to run Origin OS 4 based on Android 14 out of the box in China. iQOO is also rumoured to launch the smartphones in H1 of 2024 in India, running Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14.

iQOO Neo 9 Design and Display Enhancements

The iQOO Neo 9 series is expected to feature large 6.78-inch AMOLED displays with a centred punch-hole for the selfie camera.

A major design shift is the use of a metallic frame instead of plastic, promising improved build quality and a premium feel. These changes suggest a sleek and modern design approach.

The iQOO Neo 9 models might come with unique camera setups, including two camera rings and an LED flash.

These are likely to support advanced features like ultra-wide-angle lenses. The switch to a metallic frame adds to the durability and aesthetics of the phone.

Camera quality is a key focus, with the iQOO Neo 9 series smartphones rumoured to have a 50MP primary sensor. This sensor could be the Sony IMX 920, known for its high-quality imaging.

iQOO Neo 9 Series Launch Dates and Price

The release date for the iQOO Neo 9 hasn't been announced yet. As for the price, there's no official information, but it's likely to be affordable, similar to iQOO's other products.
