WWDC 2024: Apple to unveil iOS 18 with AI, upgraded Siri and Control Center, Here’s what to expect

WWDC 2024, set for June 10 at Apple Park, will unveil iOS 18 with major upgrades. This includes a customizable iPhone interface, AI enhancements in Siri, and revamped Control and Messages apps. Here's what you can expect at WWDC 2024.

WWDC 2024: Apple to unveil iOS 18 with AI, upgraded Siri and Control Center, Here’s what to expect

Apple WWDC 2024 is poised to introduce several significant updates, with iOS 18 and enhancements across various system apps including Siri, Control Center, and the Settings app. The event, scheduled for June 10, is anticipated to showcase a blend of AI capabilities and user interface improvements.

iOS 18 Innovations Expected

At the upcoming WWDC 2024, iOS 18 is poised to take center stage, bringing an array of new features designed to enhance the user experience on iPhone devices. According to a report from 9to5Mac, one of the most anticipated changes is the introduction of a more customizable home screen.

This update will allow users to rearrange app icons and widgets with unprecedented flexibility, moving beyond the traditional grid layout that has defined the iOS interface for years. In addition to spatial customization, users will have the option to personalize the appearance of app icons system-wide, enabling a more tailored and visually cohesive interface.

Furthermore, the Settings app is set to receive a significant overhaul aimed at streamlining its usability and accessibility. This redesign will simplify the navigation within the app, making it easier for users to find and adjust settings quickly. The new layout is expected to mirror improvements seen in macOS, fostering a more intuitive experience across Apple's ecosystem.

AI and Siri Enhancements

The integration of generative AI technologies is set to be a major theme at the conference. As reported by Bloomberg, Apple and OpenAI have reached an agreement to incorporate advanced AI functionalities into Apple’s ecosystem.

This strategic partnership is expected to significantly enhance applications across iOS 18, including Siri. The upgrade aims to boost Siri's processing capabilities, potentially transforming Apple's virtual assistant into a more dynamic and responsive tool for users.

Control Center and Messages App Refinements

The Control Center is rumored to undergo significant modifications, with a new music widget and better integration of smart home controls. Meanwhile, the Messages app will likely introduce features that allow for animation of text, enriching communication with dynamic expressions.
