Samsung Galaxy S22 series in India will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, the company has officially revealed. Samsung launched the Galaxy S22 series of smartphones globally on February 9 with either the Exynos 220 chipset or Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor depending on region. In the past, Samsung has offered its flagship S-series devices with its homegrown Exynos chipsets for Indian buyers, who will now be able to purchase the S22 series with Qualcomm's latest 4nm processor.

The Galaxy S22 series features three devices--the S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra. All three models get some common features, like Android 12 with OneUI 4.1, IP68 dust and water resistance, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, built on the 4nm process.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ retain much of the design language of their previous iterations, and both come with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. On the front, the Galaxy S22 sports a 6.1-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X 120Hz display, while the Galaxy S22+ features the same screen, in a larger 6.6-inch size.
