Addressing members, Jayalalithaa's voice played out said:&nbsp;
"Hello. I&rsquo;m your J Jayalalithaa speaking. I express my gratitude to this technology, which gave me a chance to speak to you. Our party has seen many ups and downs. We have implemented many welfare schemes for women, students, etc when we were in power.
Now, on one hand, we have the Union government that&rsquo;s betraying us and, on the other, the state government is corrupt and useless. On the occasion of my birthday, what I&rsquo;m asking you is to ensure that AIADMK&rsquo;s 'people government' comes back.
Our cadres should stand in my path and I request you to strengthen the hands of brother Edapaddi K Palaniswami. We are because of people, and we are for the people.&rdquo;
&rdquo; She repeated her popular catchphrase: &ldquo;I am because of the people, I am for the people&rdquo; (Makkalal naan, makkalukkagave naan).
Palaniswami also released the party&rsquo;s election slogan: "Let's reclaim Tamil rights, Let's save Tamil Nadu,&rdquo; on the occasion.&nbsp;

The Madras High Court had struck down the state's ban on online games like rummy and poker with stakes, and the Tamil Nadu government had then appealed to the Supreme Court.
The state government had told the apex court stated that teenagers and youths were losing their entire earnings and savings by indulging in online games.
Tamil Nadu government enacted an ordinance against online rummy for the second time. Earlier, AIADMK government imposed a ban in 2021 but the law was struck down by Madras HC.&nbsp;
The committee also recommended that the state government ban advertisements that encourage people to play such online games.

The AIADMK General Council cited difficulty in decision-making and discontentment among party cadre as the reason behind expelling OPS and appointing EPS as interim general secretary.

The decision was taken during a general council meeting which took place after the Madras high court rejected OPS' plea seeking stay on the meet called by the faction led by EPS.
OPS, who was expelled for alleged "anti-party" activities and for cozying up to the rival DMK regime, reportedly said that he will move court against the decision.&nbsp;
The AIADMK General Council cited difficulty in decision-making and discontentment among party cadre as the reason behind scrapping the posts of Coordinator and Joint Coordinator, held by OPS and EPS, respectively.&nbsp;
Under the dual-leadership model, the AIADMK had faced several poll defeats. Both the leaders have been embroiled in a bitter war to claim the legacy of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa since her death in 2017.&nbsp;

The GC meet, which stuck to the one and only demand of making EPS the supreme party leader, turned out to be a full show of strength of the Palaniswami camp with OPS followers heavily outnumbered.

As per the latest order of the bench, the meeting can take place as scheduled and the already decided 23 resolutions can be taken up and adopted. No other new resolutions touching upon making amendment to party bye-laws to abolish Co-ordinator and Joint Co-ordinator posts and restoring the general secretary post to pave way for single leadership, shall be taken up.
It was a day of events providing contrasting jubilation to party leaders and their cadres. Around 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Justice Krishnan Ramaswamy, in his brief order, permitted the conduct of the meet, but refrained from restraining the EPS group from taking up any other fresh resolutions, which would ultimately result in unitary leadership.
The aggrieved group met Chief Justice M N Bhandari and obtained his permission to prefer an appeal against the order of the single judge. The CJ nominated Justice Duraiswamy and Sundar Mohan as the judges to make a special sitting and hear the appeal.
Accordingly, the bench sat at the senior judge's residence and commenced the hearing around 1 am and passed its orders around 4 am today, which effectively led to joy and jubilation in the OPS camp.

The Tamil Nadu police on Wednesday declined to entertain a petition submitted by AIADMK leader O Panneerselvam urging them to deny permission to the party General and Executive Council meetings scheduled to be held here on June 23.
Underscoring law and order concerns in view of serious differences over the single leadership question within the party, Panneerselvam had on Tuesday urged the Avadi Police Commissionerate to deny permission for the meeting.
Asked if the plea was being considered, a top official said the applicant has been told that his request was beyond the scope of police as the meeting was slated to be held indoors.
"Whether to conduct the meeting or not is for the party to decide. We are fully following the High Court orders in this respect. We are geared up to provide security, strictly maintain law and order and ensure peace," a senior police official told PTI.
"We are also planning traffic management. Some petitions, related to holding the party meeting, are also before civil courts and the subject is sub judice," the police official said.
The Madras High Court had on Tuesday directed police protection for the AIADMK meeting.
OPS, as Panneerselvam is known, had written to the Avadi Police Commissionerate requesting that permission must not be accorded to hold the AIADMK meeting on June 23 at a hall in suburban Vanagaram considering the need to maintain law and order.
He had said party office-bearer and former minister Pa Benjamin seeking security for the meet was a 'unilateral decision'.
Only the AIADMK Coordinator (OPS) and Joint Coordinator (Edappadi K Palaniswami-EPS) are empowered in this regard, he had said in his plea.
OPS is fighting the EPS camp, which is determined to scrap the current dual leadership system and make EPS as the single, supreme leader of the AIADMK.
