New rumours are abuzz of a potential sequel to the 2009 Ayan Mukerji film&nbsp;Wake Up Sid, after its lead pair was spotted together.
A set video went viral, showing Animal actor Ranbir Kapoor donning a blue shirt and a pair of white pants, seemingly rehearsing lines with his Wake up Sid co-actor, Konkona Sen Sharma, who rocked a more traditional outfit that still matched her co-star's attire colour-wise.
Fans are ecstatic about this rumoured sequel. One fan wrote,

The director penned a special note for his &lsquo;second child&rsquo;, a piece of his heart and soul, on Instagram. In his note, he said that making this movie was &lsquo;one of the greatest joys&rsquo; of his life. &lsquo;And what we achieved with it - with all its perfections and imperfections - is a source of great eternal pride for me!,&rsquo; he wrote. Filmmaker Ayan Mukerji will reportedly be directing the second installment of the blockbuster film &lsquo;War&rsquo;, starring Hrithik Roshan. He has been roped in by Yash Raj Films' head honcho Aditya Chopra to direct the movie.
A source told news agency IANS that, &lsquo;Aditya Chopra is choosing the captain of the ship for each YRF Spy Universe film strategically. Ayan has delivered big hits which appeals to all audience segments and has the pulse of Indian audiences. He has shown that he knows how to mount a film with a huge scale, which is essential for someone to direct War 2.&rsquo;

Ayan Mukerji has clarified the reports of Yash playing Dev in 'Brahmastra 2.' The filmmaker has told that the actor has not been approached for the film.

&lsquo;KGF&rsquo; star Yash made headlines recently after reports claiming that he&rsquo;s in talks to star as Dev in &lsquo;Brahmastra 2&rsquo; surfaced online. Now, director Ayan Mukerji in an interview with India Today has clarified these reports. Ayan said that he loves Kannada superstar Yash, but he has not been approached for the role in the film.
&lsquo;I love Yash. It would be great if he plays Dev. No, I am joking,&rsquo; he said.
The filmmaker also addressed rumours that Ranveer Singh is playing Dev in the film and said that while he&rsquo;s come across the rumours, he cannot comment this yet. He said the fun of Dev&rsquo;s story is that it will come at the right time.
Following the release of &lsquo;Brahmastra&rsquo;, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, there have been many speculations that Ranveer will play Dev in the sequel and these were further fuelled after Film Companion&rsquo;s Anupama Chopra made an accidental slip and revealing that the actor had been roped in.
&lsquo;I hope that the learnings of this film (Brahmastra Part One) enable them (the makers) to make a kickass part two with of course Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone,&rsquo; she said.
Karan Johar also indirectly confirmed Ranveer&rsquo;s role in &lsquo;Brahmastra&rsquo; in September this year. During an Instagram live, a social media user asked Karan who is Dev in Ayan Mukerji&rsquo;s Astraverse. Alia Bhatt took to Instagram and shared a hilarious video in which her husband can be seen venting out over a phone call when as to return for promotions as 'Brahmastra' is all set to release on OTT platform Disney + Hotstar.&nbsp;
In the promotional ad, Ranbir is heard saying, `Nahi bhai hogaya (No, brother, it's over). I'm done. I'm done with Brahmastra promotions, I'm done with Ayan Mukerji. Brahmastra is coming on Disney+ Hostar, which means what? Promotions, more promotions and more promotions? Itna toh Alia ne film mein &lsquo;Shiva Shiva&rsquo; nahi bola hoga (Alia might have not said Shiva as many times as promotions in the film).&nbsp;
Frustrated Ranbir then added, 'What should I do now? Director Ayan Mukerji’s third Bollywood movie as a filmmaker, ‘Brahmastra’, went on to become a massive hit at the box office. During a recently held event at FICCI, India’s biggest media and entertainment convention, Ayan and Karan Johar were present to grace the event. When the duo was asked if they disagreed on some aspects of the movie, both Karan and Ayan admitted there were some portions that they had some discussions over.    Karan first said, ‘There was no way you could disagree. Because how can you disagree with someone’s visualization?’    However, taking the conversation further, Ayan said, ‘There was stuff which Karan did not like. There was a big Kaali Puja sequence in the film. When you (Karan) saw the sequence, you were very harsh. He really bit**** about it. I hope I am allowed to say that word.’    The producer immediately disagreed on the same and said, ‘I never did that. I said that the scene was very terrible and I said I think you need to re-shoot it. And there was actually, and we can say it now, Kesariya was shot in another way.’    Karan Johar further added ‘Kesariya was shot with Ranbir dancing quite feverishly. When we saw the song, I said ‘What the hell is going on? What is wrong with you Ayan?’. Why were they dancing? Kesariya was shot differently. Same tune melody but treated differently.  It is then that Ayan realized it has to be treated differently. It is then when we shot the Kalli Puja scene.’ He also revealed that that they had to compromise Isha’s backstory for the creative adjustment that was supposed to be depicted in that Kaali Puja scene.    Brahmastra's song ‘Kesariya’ featuring actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt was shot in Varanasi. Netizens found some similarities of the song with the song ‘Laare Chotee,’ a popular sound track from the 2007 film ‘Ek Chaalis Ki Last Local.’

In an exclusive interview with trade analyst Komal Nahta, Ranbir Kapoor talked about rumours of him not charging any fees for the film.
He said, ' You asked if I charged anything or not, actually I did. This is an equity I have for life, I’m also part producer of the film. I am thinking more long term. I didn’t charge anything for the first film, but I have faith in what we can earn over three films, that is beyond anything I’d get as an actor, price as an actor.'
Director Ayan Mukerji also responded to the same question. He said, 'The truth is that the film has been made because of a lot of personal sacrifice. It is true that the amount that Ranbir would make as a star actor, he didn’t take anything for the making of Brahmastra. This is a very, very big thing, because it would not be possible to make this film'.
He continued that even Alia Bhatt was paid a ‘small amount’ for the role in the film.
He said, 'When she joined the film, this was 2014, she only had a couple of releases. She isn’t the star that she is today. The amount that was fixed for Alia in this film was not a very big amount, but even that small amount, by the time we completed the film, even Alia said that all of it has gone into the making of the film.'

Earlier on Thursday, Sidharth also announced his new film over the internet ‘Thank God’. Directed by Indra Kumar, the film also stars Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh. Sharing his first look poster on the Instagram, the actor wrote, "This Diwali, hoga sabhi karmon ka hisaab, when a common man comes face to face with Chitragupt in the game of life!" Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s much-awaited film ‘Brahmastra’ is all set to release in theatres this Friday (September 9). The actors along with the makers of the film are ensuring that their adventure drama creates enough buzz ahead of its theatrical release. A special screening of the Ayan Mukerji-directorial was organised in Mumbai on Monday. It was a private affair and was attended by the lead cast of the film. A few pictures and videos of the soon-to-be parents have surfaced online.
For the screening, Ranbir was dressed in a casual outfit, and Alia was seen donning an olive-coloured dress paired with a jacket. Alia’s sister Shaheen Bhatt and director Ayan Mukerji’s father Deb Mukherjee also attended the screening.

A special screening of the Ayan Mukerji-directorial was organised in Mumbai on Monday. It was a private affair and was attended by the lead cast of the film. A few pictures and videos of the soon-to-be parents have surfaced online.
For the screening, Ranbir was dressed in a casual outfit, and Alia was seen donning an olive-coloured dress paired with a jacket. Alia&rsquo;s sister Shaheen Bhatt and director Ayan Mukerji&rsquo;s father Deb Mukherjee also attended the screening.

Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up for the release of his forthcoming film 'Brahmāstra,' co-starring wife Alia Bhatt. S. S. Rajamouli presented the first motion poster of the film in Telugu at Hyderabad in December 2021. The film, produced by Star Studios, Dharma Productions, Prime Focus and Starlight Pictures, will release in 5 languages – Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada, on September 9, 2022.
