According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, 'Brahmastra' had a 'fabulous weekend' and managed to collect ₹39.5 crore on Sunday alone.

‘Brahmastra’, starring Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, opened to positive reviews from the audience as well as the film critics. The Ayan Mukerji directorial managed to collect ₹39.5 crore on Sunday alone, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted on Monday. He shared the net box office collection of the fantasy action-adventure and wrote that ‘Brahmastra’ had a fabulous weekend.

‘Brahmāstra has a FABULOUS weekend... *#Hindi* version... *#Nett* BOC...Day 1: ₹ 31.5 cr+ Day 2: ₹ 37.5 cr+ Day 3: ₹ 39.5 cr+ Final total could be higher... #India biz. National chains superb... Day 1: ₹ 17.15 cr est Day 2: ₹ 20.73 cr est Day 3: ₹ 21.63 cr est,’ tweeted Taran Adarsh.

After a record opening of ₹75 crores worldwide on its opening day, the film’s total worldwide collection post its opening weekend stands at ₹225 crore. Sharing the numbers on Instagram, Ayan Mukerji wrote, ‘Brahmāstra has gotten off to a great start with audiences over its first weekend ! The feeling is only of Gratitude, and more Gratitude - for our Audiences! The Acceptance from Audiences - is the only reward we work for at the movies. The Future of the Brahmāstra Trilogy, and the Astraverse, eventually lies in the hands of our Audience, and this weekend we have received back from them… Light - for the years of work that went into this Venture!’

‘I feel proud that we managed to create a great energy at the cinemas over the last 3 days, with people coming out and sitting together jointly - to watch a very new kind of movie for our Cinema, one which takes Technology to the next level, and does it while retaining the soul of Indian culture and spirituality. We were also the #1 Movie at the Global Box-Office this weekend… another source of pride, excitement and progress, for us! Putting out good energy for the next few weeks of Brahmāstra’s Journey at the Cinemas… and also for the Love of Movies doing well in general, the most popular art form of our times, one that entertains and should unite us!,’ he added.

On Sunday, Ranbir Kapoor visited a theatre in Mumbai along with director Ayan Mukerji. While interacting with the media there, he said, ‘I am extremely happy and proud of this man (Ayan) standing here next to me. He has worked with a lot of dedication, hardwork and love. And this is the best feeling. We all have come back to the cinemas. We loved seeing the emotions here. We feel loved, entertained. People are laughing, clapping. This is what cinemas is all about and we are happy to be back at the cinemas.’

Brahmastra: Part One Shiva’ released on September 9. It also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles. Shah Rukh Khan also made a special appearance in the film.
