The Chief Minister said that he was fortunate to have got an opportunity to serve the state and this visit was aimed at expressing his gratitude to almighty for bestowing this service. He also prayed for the progress and development of the state and prosperity of its people.
The Chief Minister sought blessings of almighty to give enormous strength to him for serving the people of state with full dedication. He offered prayers at Gurdwara sahib and reiterated the firm commitment of his government to serve the people of the state regardless of caste, colour, creed and religion to create a harmonious society. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that as taught by the great Gurus the ethos of love, brotherhood and harmony in the society will be maintained at every cost and will ever remain their top priority of the state government.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday slammed the traditional political parties of the state for backstabbing the brave people of the border region by ruining their several generations for their vested political interests.
Addressing the gathering after dedicating newly upgraded Sugar Mill at Batala, the Chief Minister bemoaned that the progressive and fertile border region of the state has lagged behind in the pace of development due to apathetic attitude of the traditional political parties. He said that the leaders of these parties ruined the younger generations of the state by implicating them in false cases by misusing their power. Bhagwant Singh Mann that the residents of border districts of the state are brave people who have always safeguarded the unity and sovereignty of the country.
The Chief Minister said that this is the sacred land blessed by great Gurus and is inhabited by brave and hard working people who have suffered due to political vendetta of traditional parties. He said that this region which had produced great patriots and nationalists had not witnessed the development during the regime of traditional parties. Bhagwant Singh Mann bemoaned that despite their enormous contribution the people of this region have been deceived by the traditional parties.
However, the Chief Minister said that his government is working tirelessly for development of this region due to which this upgraded sugar mill has been constructed at a cost of Rs Cost 296 crore. He said that the mill has a capacity of crushing 3500 tons of sugar and houses a co-generation plant of 14 Mega Watts. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that refined sugar will be produced in this mill adding that this will be the first cooperative sugar mill of the state to do so.
The Chief Minister said that the mill has a target of crushing 35 lakh quintal sugarcane in the current season adding that it is a very environmentally friendly plant. He said that this is the first of its kind Sugar Mill in India where 100% of gas will be injected in the pipeline. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the capacity of the mill was 14000 Cubic meters daily and it will prevent pollution equal to that caused by 30,000 cars in the environment.
The Chief Minister said that it will process over 150 tons of waste daily and will produce 20 tons of the best organic fertilizer thereby giving impetus to the local economy. He said that it is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that Bahadurpur is the first village in Punjab to have a pipeline to deliver cooking gas. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this mill has been equipped with the latest available technology across the globe adding that it will immensely benefit the sugarcane cultivators of the region.
The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that Punjab is giving the highest rate of sugarcane not only in the country but across the globe thereby immensely benefitting its farmers. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state will continue to lead the country in maximum sugarcane price as per the commitment of the state government. He said that his government has always provided high rates to the sugarcane cultivators and this trend will continue in future too.
The Chief Minister said that the social bonding in the state is so strong that any seed could grow on the fertile land of Punjab but the seed of hatred will never germinate here at any cost. He said that though futile attempts are being made to disturb hard earned peace of state, Punjab is a sacred land of great Gurus, saints and seers who have shown us the path of mutual love and tolerance. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Punjabis have always opposed tyranny, injustice and oppression by cementing the bond of love and harmony.
The Chief Minister said that AAP is credited for bringing sectors like health, education, power, water and infrastructure at the centre stage of national politics. He said that these sectors are the top five priorities of his government and no stone is being left unturned for it. &nbsp;Bhagwant Singh Mann said that while the other political parties have always pursued the agenda of hatred and divisiveness, AAP had given new direction to politics by according top priority to these sectors.
Quoting verse &lsquo;Pawan Guru, Paani Pitaah, Mata Dharat Mahat&rsquo; from Gurbani, the Chief Minister said that the great Gurus have equated air (pawan) with teacher, water (paani) with father and land (dharat) with mother. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that now the time has come when we must imbibe the teachings of Gurbani in our lives for restoring the pristine glory of the state by resolving to save the environment of the state. He said that the state government is setting up such plants to reduce pollution thereby helping in making the state clean, green and pollution free.
Taking a jibe at the Akali leaders, the Chief Minister said that despite of tall lip service, these leaders failed to deliver anything tangible to the people. He said that due to such misdeeds only the Akali leaders are now facing public wrath adding that in a democracy the power of a common man is supreme. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that those who claimed that they will rule for 25 years have been sent to political oblivion by the people.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is setting up such projects to generate employment opportunities for the youth. He said that the state government is making concerted efforts to ensure that the jobs are given to local youth. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this will help in reversing the trend of people migrating abroad in search of jobs thereby making youth an active partner in social economic progress of the state.&nbsp;

The Chief Minister who attended the retreat ceremony at Hussainiwala border said that he was overwhelmed to witness this ceremony for the maiden time. He asked the BSF officers to further submit a detailed proposal for giving a facelift to this historical place. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government is committed for comprehensive development of this sacred place.
The Chief Minister said that this place will be developed on modren lines so that more and more tourists are attracted. He said that retreat ceremony was held at three places in Punjab viz. Wagah, Hussainiwala and Sulemanki borders. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that while Wagah attracts huge tourists, the flow of tourists at two other places is less.
However, the Chief Minister said that as this place has a huge potential of tourist attraction so it will be developed as a hub of tourism. He said that this place is associated with Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Rajguru and Shaheed Sukhdev adding that it houses a museum where pistol which was used by legendary martyr to kill Sandraus has been displayed. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that patriotism is in the air at this place and more tourists can be attached to this sacred land.
The Chief Minister also hailed the Indian Armed forces who perform their duties despite of vagaries of weather in various parts of the country. He said that the state government is making strenuous efforts to perpetuate the legacy of martyrs in Punjab adding due to concerted efforts of the state government, the Mohali airport has been named after Shaheed Bhagat Singh. Likewise, Bhagwant Singh Mann said that 30 feet high statue of Shaheed Bhagat Singh was dedicated at Nishan-e-Inquilab Plaza in Mohali on Wednesday.

Mann will seek votes for Kuldeep Kumar and Sahiram Pahalwan, who have been fielded from the East Delhi and South Delhi constituencies by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
"He will hold roadshows in the two constituencies," a party leader said.
Under a seat-sharing arrangement between the Congress and the AAP, the former has fielded candidates from three Lok Sabha seats in Delhi while the latter is contesting from the remaining four.&nbsp;

Tihar jail officials, Delhi Police and Punjab Police on Friday discussed the security arrangement for Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's meeting with AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal lodged in the prison, officials said.
The meeting started at 11 am at the office of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in Tihar, a jail official said.
It is being held to make security arrangements and complete codal formalities, as mandated in Delhi Prison Rules, to arrange a meeting between Mann and Kejriwal.
Mann had sought time from the Tihar administration to meet the Delhi chief minister who is lodged in Tihar's jail number 2 in a money laundering case linked to the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy and will be in judicial custody till April 15.
He was arrested on March 21 by the Enforcement Directorate.
Kejriwal has given the names of six people, including the Punjab chief minister, whom he wants to meet in jail.&nbsp;

Mann had a few days ago sought permission from the Tihar Jail administration, seeking time to meet Kejriwal.
Kejriwal was arrested last month by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in an excise policy-linked money laundering case.
The ED had arrested Kejriwal on March 21 after the high court refused to grant him protection from coercive action by the federal anti-money laundering agency.
The case pertains to the alleged corruption and money laundering in formulating and executing the Delhi government's excise policy for 2021-22 that was later scrapped.
Kejriwal was sent to judicial custody in the case on April 1 after he was produced in the trial court after expiry of the ED custody.
The Delhi High Court on Tuesday dismissed Kejriwal's petition challenging his arrest in a money laundering case stemming from the alleged excise scam, saying there was no contravention of legal provisions.
Kejriwal had besides his arrest also challenged his subsequent remand in the Enforcement Directorate's custody, which the court said was not illegal.&nbsp;

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Kejriwal, who was sent to Tihar Jail after a court remanded him to judicial custody in the excise policy case on April 1, has been lodged in jail number 2.

A day after Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann wrote to the Tihar administration seeking a meeting with jailed AAP head Arvind Kejriwal in the prisons, the authorities said he can meet his Delhi counterpart, but as a normal visitor in the 'mulakat jangla'.
The 'mulakat jangla' is an iron mesh which separates the inmate from the visitor in a room inside the jail. A visitor and an inmate can talk to each other by sitting on different sides of the mesh.
The officials of the Tihar jail, while confirming the letter from the Punjab chief minister's office (CMO) to Tihar Director General Sanjay Baniwal, said the reply will be given "soon" to Mann's office.
"Mann can meet Kejriwal but it can happen as a normal visitor meet in the 'mulakat jangla' in Tihar jail. The officials can make security arrangements as Mann is a chief minister and enjoys Z+ security cover," an officer, who did not wish to be named, told PTI.
He said the letter from the Punjab CMO has sought time and asked the Tihar adminstration to make necessary arrangements for their meeting in the prison premises.

The Aam Aadmi Party has already announced eight candidates. Polling for 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab will be held on June 1.
In a post on X, Mann said, "In the next five days, the candidates for the remaining five Lok Sabha seats will be announced by the AAP." AAP is yet to announce its candidates from Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana and Anandpur Sahib.
AAP was the first one among all political parties in the state that announced the list of candidates for the Lok Sabha polls.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on March 12 announced significant reforms in the power sector, promising affordable electricity for industrialists. Mann informed about the reforms at the Sarkar Vyapaar Milni event held in Hoshiarpur.
While speaking at the gathering, he pledged ₹2.5 crore for a modern fire station in Hoshiarpur, with plans to convert the existing station into a cow shed and parking area.&nbsp;
The industrial area was transferred to PSIEC, with development tenders worth ₹1 crore to be issued soon.
 Furthermore, Gopi Chand Kapoor of Vyapaar Mandal appreciated the CM's efforts for traders' welfare. Hoshiarpur Industrial Area President Sanjeev Singla raised development concerns, to which the CM assured swift action, emphasizing exemplary progress in the area.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday slammed the Union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for humiliating the mandate of people of state by not inviting their elected government, in functions pertaining to development projects in the state.
Speaking during the session of Punjab Vidhan Sabha, the Chief Minister said that though the Prime Minister is inaugurating the work to upgrade seven Railways Stations in the state but unfortunately the people of Punjab and their government has not been invited in it.
&nbsp;He said that it is surprising that the Prime Minister of the country is stooping too low just for scoring brownie points before the media.&nbsp;
Bhagwant Singh Mann said that such sort of politicization of the events to mark the development of the state should be avoided as it is not in the interest of the country adding that it is a grave insult of the mandate of three crore people who have chosen their government. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday slammed the BJP-led Centre, alleging that it "hates" the state and does not want it to be a "rangla" (vibrant) state.
Mann was addressing a gathering after the launch of the party's poll campaign and slogan "Sansad ch vee Bhagwant Mann, Khushal Punjab te vadhegi shaan" [Bhagwant Mann in Parliament (polls) for a prosperous Punjab].
The slogan reflects that the AAP's campaign is designed around Chief Minister Mann.
Mann thanked AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal for showing confidence in him through the slogan.
"In the slogan, a lot of confidence has been shown in me. With this slogan, my responsibility will also increase," said Mann.
"I assure you (Kejriwal) that we will not break your confidence shown in us and we will get you all 13 seats," asserted the chief minister.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), a constituent of the INDIA bloc, is fighting the Lok Sabha elections alone in Punjab.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday said that the state government is making strenuous efforts to make Punjab a debt-free state, progressive and prosperous state.&nbsp;
Addressing the gathering during Sarkar Vyapaar Milni on Monday, the Chief Minister said that the state has inherited a debt due to the misdeeds of the previous governments. However, he said that his government would make all-out efforts to bail out the state from this crisis for which concerted efforts are being made.
Bhagwant Singh Mann said the budget of two years reflects good things unfolding in the state in terms of enhanced revenue collection adding that this tempo will continue in the coming days too.&nbsp;
The Chief Minister said that Punjab is witnessing these type of functions for the first time. He said that earlier only political mudslinging was done in events but now celebration of happiness is being made in such functions. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that for the first time traders have become integral part in decision making to put state in path of high trajectory.&nbsp;
The Chief Minister said that today new schools, hospitals are being coming up, free power is given to 90% households, jobs have been given to more than 43000 jobs and others due to the good intentions of the government. He said that this was lacking during the earlier regimes due to which the state has lagged behind in the progress. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that now the state government is exposing the ugly face of the previous regimes.
