A Mysuru kickboxer has succumbed to death after suffering a serious injury at a kickboxing match in Bengaluru. An FIR has been registered against the organisers at Jnana Bharathi police station. 
The deceased has been identified as Nikhil. He was 23 years old. 
The accident took place on July 10 during a state-level K1 kickboxing championship in Bengaluru. 
During the event, Nikhil suffered a major blow from his opponent on his face and subsequently collapsed inside the ring. He was taken to G M Hospital in Nagarabhavi, Bengaluru in an unconscious state. He was in a coma since then.

Based on a complaint by Nikhil's father Suresh P, the state Police registered a case of negligence against one Naveen Ravishankar and the association.

A kickboxer succumbed to death after suffering a grievous injury during the state championship in Bengaluru. The deadly blow was caught on camera. 

During the state championship, Nikhil took a grievous blow on his face from his opponent and subsequently collapsed inside the ring. He succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.

As can be seen in the video from the event, Nikhil took a major blow on his face from his opponent and subsequently collapsed inside the ring. He was taken to a local hospital where he remained in a coma for two days before finally succumbing to his injuries on July 12.
