This as the country is reporting a rise in daily cases of coronavirus fuelled by the highly transmissible Omicron variant.
The MLA, however, defended the tournament saying there are no Covid cases in Botad currently, where the tournament was held. He also said the tournament was launched nearly a month ago when the number of cases was negligible.
Videos of the tournament final, played on Christmas, showed spectators, many without masks, running to the pitch as part of victory celebrations.
The MLA, however, said that except for the final, very few people had turned up in the other matches and all Covid rules were followed during them, the MLA said.
Gujarat has seen a steady rise in cases in the past few days, with the active tally now standing close to a 1,000 cases.

According to a report by NDTV quoting sources, the BCCI will await for Centre decision on the new variant before taking any decision regarding the South Africa tour.

Taliban spokesperson has been quoted as saying that women's sports, cricket specifically will be banned in Afghanistan.
Wasiq last month told SBS that the Taliban would allow men's cricket to continue and that it has given approval for the men's national team to travel to Australia for a test match in November.
But in a statement released Thursday, Cricket Australia said it would not proceed with the planned test starting November 27 if news reports of Taliban views on the women's game were true.
"Driving the growth of women's cricket globally is incredibly important to Cricket Australia," the statement said. "Our vision for cricket is that it is a sport for all and we support the game unequivocally for women at every level.
"If recent media reports that women's cricket will not be supported in Afghanistan are substantiated, Cricket Australia would have no alternative but to not host Afghanistan for the proposed test match due to be played in Hobart."
Australia's Sport Minister Richard Colbeck said earlier that the Taliban's decision on women's sport was "deeply concerning" and he urged organizations such as the International Cricket Council to take action.
"Excluding women from sport at any level is unacceptable," Colbeck said in a statement. "We urge international sport authorities, including the International Cricket Council, to take a stand against this appalling ruling."

Raina, who has been a part of the Chennai Super Kings since its inception in 2008 was asked about how he has been able to&nbsp;embrace the Tamilian culture. The middle-order batsman replied by saying that he is also a&nbsp;Brahmin and loves the culture of the city.
