Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer &lsquo;Gadar 2&rsquo; created history as it emerged as one of the highest-grossing films of 2023. Owing to the huge success of the last 2 films of the franchise, Sunny Deol has agreed to team up with Anil Sharma. A report in Pinkvilla quoted Anil Sharma saying, &ldquo;Yes, Tara Singh will be back, as we have locked in the basic idea of Gadar 3. I am presently shooting with Utkarsh and Nana Patekar for my next directorial journey and will start working on the Gadar 3 script very soon.&rdquo;

The Anil Sharma directorial has now surpassed the lifetime business of SS Rajamouli's &lsquo;Baahubali 2: The Conclusion&rsquo; to become the second highest-grossing Hindi film, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
The movie is now trailing behind Shah Rukh Khan&rsquo;s &lsquo;Pathaan&rsquo;. According to Taran Adarsh, &lsquo;Gadar 2&rsquo;, in its first week, minted ₹284.63 crore, in the second week ₹134.47 crore, and in the third week ₹ 63.35 crore. On its fifth weekend, the film earned ₹ 5.03 cr, bringing the total collection of the film to ₹512.35 crore.
&lsquo;Baahubali 2&rsquo; (Hindi), which was released in 2017, grossed ₹510.99 crore, while &lsquo;Pathaan&rsquo;, which was released in January 2023, earned ₹524.62 crore, in India.
A few weeks ago, the team of &lsquo;Gadar 2&rsquo; held a press conference after the film's success.
Sunny talked about how he initially reacted after seeing the audience's love for &lsquo;Gadar 2&rsquo;. Sunny had said, &lsquo;I was quite stressed before the release of the movie. When the movie was released, I cried and laughed the entire night. My father was around and he saw me. I told him, 'I have not had alcohol. Main khush aa main ki kara (I am happy, what can I do)'.&rsquo;

With Shah Rukh Khan in the lead, 'Jawan' released on September 7 and has been receiving an overwhelmingly positive response from the audience. &nbsp; During an interview with Indian Express, 'Gadar 2' director was asked whether he is concerned about the box office clash with SRK&rsquo;s most awaited release, Anil Sharma answered, &ldquo;Both the films will work. The public will enjoy both the movies equally. Even when I had seen Pathaan&hellip; See, I am a Shah Rukh Khan fan&hellip; When the trailer of the film had released bohot buraai huiee. The sequel shows how Tara and Sakina&rsquo;s son gets imprisoned in Pakistan during the 'Crush India' campaign in 1971.
Tara Singh is left with no choice but to travel to the neighbouring country and rescue his son.

In an interview with The Indian Express, he said that even &lsquo;Gadar Ek Prem Katha&rsquo; deserved to go to the Academy Awards.
&lsquo;People are calling me repeatedly to send the film to the Oscars. Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001) didn&rsquo;t go, so I don&rsquo;t know how Gadar 2 will go, but we are at it. But Gadar 2 should go; the film deserves it. Gadar also deserved it. Gadar was based on the 1947 partition, and we told the story in a very different way. It was a new and original story, and Gadar 2 is also a new and original story,&rsquo; Anil told the daily.
In 2001, Aamir Khan's &lsquo;Lagaan&rsquo; was nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film category at the Academy Awards.
Anil Sharma also recalled Dharmendra's statement that he felt he wasn't part of the industry and added that he felt the same.

Now, director Anil Sharma has reacted to the allegations and said that he's shocked as he had shown Uttam Singh the songs and technically the rights are with the label. Anil said, 'I showed Uttamji all the songs. Mujhe hairani hai ki unhone ab aisa statement diya hai (I am shocked he gave such a statement). Technically, the rights were with the label. Mera aur Uttamjji ka dil ka rishta hai aur yeh sab sunkar mujhe bahut hairani hai (We have a close relationship and I am shocked at hearing what he has said). I still can&rsquo;t believe it. Amid &lsquo;Gadar 2&rsquo;, setting new box office records, the Sunny Doel starrer has made headline for the wrong reason. Uttam Singh, who composed music for the first installment of the film, has said that &lsquo;Gadar 2&rsquo; makers used his original songs &lsquo;Main Nikla Gaddi Leke&rsquo; and &lsquo;Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava&rsquo; without asking him.
In the interview with Amar Ujala, Uttam Singh said, &lsquo;They didn&rsquo;t call me for Gadar 2 and I don&rsquo;t have the habit of calling and asking for work. They have used two of my songs in the film and I have also heard that they have used the background music that I composed. They should at least have the etiquette to ask me once and talk to me before using my songs in the film.&rsquo;
The popular songs were recreated in &lsquo;Gadar 2&rsquo; by music director Mithoon.
&lsquo;Gadar 2&rsquo; is the sequel to Anil Sharma's 2001 film &lsquo;Gadar Ek Prem Katha&rsquo;. Sunny and Ameesha Patel reprise their role of Tara Singh and Sakeena. Anil's son Utkarsh Sharma also reprised his role as Jeete in the film.

The film earned Rs 13.50 cr on August 21, pushing the total box office collection to Rs 388.60 crores. The film has already beaten Salman Khan&rsquo;s &lsquo;Tiger Zinda Hai&rsquo; and Aamir Khan&rsquo;s &lsquo;PK&rsquo;.

&lsquo;Gadar 2&rsquo;, which was released on August 11, is set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
Speaking about the film&rsquo;s success, Sunny told Zoom, &lsquo;I am indeed very happy. When we did the second part of Gadar, we never knew it would be so loved by the audience. Two whole generations have gone by since we did the first Gadar. And still, people are as excited as they were the first time. I am amazed and very very happy. We need some hits to keep the film industry on its feet.&rsquo;

Social media users say the brawl broke out after people complained of poor air conditioning inside the cinema. Police officials were seen attempting to stop the violence.
Some users jokingly said that the spirit of Sunny Deol's character Tara Singh was seen in the clash.
Similar incidents of violence have been reported after the movie was released on August 11. One man was allegedly beaten up for shouting &ldquo;Pakistan zindabad&rdquo; during the movie.
Another violent incident was reported from Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. While the reason for this fight was unclear, two men were seen brutally punching each other.
