&nbsp; In a tweet on social media platform X, Kejriwal clarified, "Aam Aadmi Party will be fighting this election on its own strength in Delhi. There is no possibility of any alliance with Congress."
The clarification followed reports from news agency ANI, which quoted unnamed sources claiming that AAP and Congress were in advanced talks for a pre-poll alliance in Delhi. The report suggested that Congress would contest 15 seats, with the remaining seats divided among AAP and other members of the INDIA alliance.
In other election-related news, AAP released its second list of 20 candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, revealing significant changes. The list included the replacement of 18 sitting MLAs. Manish Sisodia, the former Deputy Chief Minister, will now contest from Jangpura instead of Patparganj, where educator Avadh Ojha, a new AAP member, will run for the party.

The INDIA bloc will get a "decisive mandate" in the Lok Sabha polls and may take even less than 48 hours to decide on its prime ministerial pick, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said on Thursday, asserting that it stands to reason that the party which gets the maximum seats in the alliance will be a "natural claimant" for its leadership.
In an interview with PTI on the last day of campaigning for the seven-phase Lok Sabha polls, the Congress general secretary exuded confidence that the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) will get seats "well above" the 272-mark needed for a majority in the Lower House.
Ramesh also said that when the INDIA 'janbandhan' parties will get the people's mandate, then some NDA parties may join the coalition and the Congress high command will have to decide whether to include them in the alliance or not.
Asked whether post-polls doors will remain open for NDA allies such as JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, the Congress leader said, "Nitish Kumar is the master of 'palti (volte-face)'.
"Naidu was with the Congress in alliance in 2019. I would say when INDIA janbandhan parties will get the people's mandate, then not only INDIA parties but also some NDA parties may join the coalition," he said.
"The high command of the Congress, Kharge ji, Rahul ji, Sonia ji, will have to decide whether to include them in the INDIA bloc," he said.
Ramesh said the difference between INDIA and NDA is of two I's -- I for 'insaniyat' and 'I' for 'imaandaari'.
Those parties that have 'imaandaari (honesty)' and 'insaniyat (humanity)', but are in the NDA, will join the INDIA parties, he said.
Ramesh said an INDIA bloc government formed after getting the mandate from the people will be "authoritative" but not "authoritarian".
"I think we are going to be large-hearted in victory -- no politics of vendetta, no politics of vengeance. Interestingly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to the famed Vivekananda Rock Memorial and be meditative for two days. The same Vivekananda memorial from where Mr Rahul Gandhi started the Bharat Jodo Yatra on September 7, 2022....I am sure he (Modi) is going to be meditating on what life is going to be after retirement," he said.
Asked about his assessment of the political situation on the ground after six phases of polls, Ramesh said, "I don't want to get into numbers but all I am saying is that we (INDIA bloc) will get a clear and decisive majority. 273 is a clear majority but it is not decisive. When I say clear and decisive, I mean well above 272 seats." He claimed the 2004 result when the Congress won the polls to form an alliance government despite the BJP's 'India shining' campaign, will repeat itself in 2024. Ramesh also claimed that the Congress will make "handsome gains" in Rajasthan, Karnataka, Telangana and Maharashtra.
"We will improve our position in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Assam. In totality, we are headed for a 2004 type of a situation, 'bees saal baad'," he said.
Ramesh said that in Uttar Pradesh also the Congress will make gains and the BJP cannot improve on its 2019 tally of 62.
"They are not going to improve on 39 seats in Bihar, it is impossible, they are not going to improve on 18 seats in West Bengal, that is impossible," he said.
Asked about the reported June 1 meeting of INDIA bloc partners, Ramesh said he does not have any authentic information that the meeting is going to take place that day but the INDIA bloc leaders will certainly meet.
"In 2004, the election results came out on May 13 and the UPA was formed on May 16. Dr Manmohan Singh's name as PM was floated on May 17. It took less than three days for Dr Singh's name to emerge, although everyone knew it was going to be Dr Singh after Mrs Gandhi had made her intentions very clear of not accepting the PM's post, a great sacrifice on her part," he said.
"But this time I don't think it will take even 48 hours (to decide on the PM pick). Within a few hours the leader of the janbandhan (will be picked). It stands to reason that the party that gets the maximum seats in the 'janbandhan' will be a natural claimant for the leadership of the janbandhan," he said.
Pressed further that the Congress is likely to be the party with most number of seats in the INDIA bloc, Ramesh said, "You can interpret my statement in whatever fashion you want but the fact is that in a janbandhan, all parties if they are going to participate in government...it stands to reason that the party that has the maximum number of seats, is going to lead that janbandhan in Parliament." On whether it would be easy to arrive at a consensus on the PM pick when stalwarts such as Mallikarjun Kharge, Sharad Pawar and Mamata Banerjee are part of the bloc, the Congress leader said the slogan of the alliance is 'main nahin hum, mera nahi humara'.
On critics stating that such a diverse coalition may not be good for stability, Ramesh said Manmohan Singh running the UPA coalition government for 10 years was the best proof of it.
"We are committed to giving a stable, transparent, responsive and responsible government," he said.
Ramesh said there will be a 'janbandhan PM' who will set the economy right.
"The BJP's policy was 'annadaataon ka apmaan aur chandadaataon ka samman' (insult of farmers and honouring those giving donations). That will change. All exploitative tax schemes like the angel tax will go," Ramesh said.&nbsp;

As Congress expelled Sanjay Nirupam late Wednesday evening, the former MP from Mumbai who incurred the party's wrath over his remarks targeting the ally Shiv Sena (UBT) said he would announce his next decision on Thursday.
Taking note of complaints of indiscipline and anti-party statements, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge approved Nirupam's expulsion from the party for six years with immediate effect, an official communication from the party said.
Earlier in the day, Congress dropped Nirupam's name as a star campaigner, indicating that the crisis was escalating.
Nirupam then launched a sharp attack, saying as the party was experiencing a "serious financial crisis", it should utilise the stationery and energy to save itself.
The demand for action against Nirupam grew after he castigated the Maharashtra Congress leadership for "ceding" constituencies in Mumbai to the Uddhav Thackeray-led party during seat-sharing talks of the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance for Lok Sabha elections.
"The Congress has dropped Nirupam's name from the list of star campaigners and disciplinary action has been initiated against him for his utterances against the party and the state unit leadership," state unit president Nana Patole had told reporters after attending a meeting of the party's campaign committee in Mumbai.
Making light of the party's action, Nirupam raised the "serious financial crisis" in Congress, apparently alluding to the Income Tax Department's action for tax demand.
"It (Congress) should utilise the stationery and energy to save itself, as the party is experiencing a serious financial crisis. The time frame I had given to the party ends today. I will spell out my next course of action tomorrow," he tweeted.
A former MP from Mumbai North, Nirupam had hit out at the state leadership of Congress after the Shiv Sena (UBT) led by Uddhav Thackeray declared its candidates for four out of six Lok Sabha seats in Mumbai, including the Mumbai North West seat, which Nirupam is eyeing.
He had also said the Congress leadership shouldn't allow itself to be arm-twisted by Shiv Sena (UBT).
Accepting the Shiv Sena (UBT's) decision to unilaterally field candidates in Mumbai amounted to allowing the destruction of Congress, the former Mumbai Congress president had claimed.
A former Shiv Sainik, Nirupam quit Shiv Sena in 2005.
He took up the cause of north Indian hawkers and subsequently made his way into Congress. In 2009, he successfully contested from Mumbai North seat.
Nirupam lost the 2014 elections from the same constituency against BJP's Gopal Shetty.

Senior Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Friday apologised to Trinamool Congress' Derek O'Brien for calling him a "foreigner".
The Congress leader called Derek O'Brien to apologise to him and also posted on X that "I conveyed my regrets to MR DEREK O'BRIEN for a word inadvertently uttered by me on him as FOREIGNER".
Sources said the TMC leader accepted the apology.
While speaking to the reporters on Thursday night in Siliguri, Chowdhury had said, "Derek O&rsquo;Brien is a foreigner, he knows a lot of things. Ask him." The statement came after Derek O'Brien blamed him for seat-sharing talks between the two parties not going through in West Bengal.
"Three reasons for the alliance not working in Bengal &ndash; Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury," O'Brien told reporters in Delhi on Thursday.
Chowdhury's comment drew flak on social media.
"How is this inclusiveness? I know @derekobrienmp and to question his nationality is really showing how intelligent this man is! Sadly such men are at the helm of decision making," Tipra Motha chairman Pradyot Manikya said in a post on X.

&nbsp;NCP president Sharad Pawar on Saturday asserted that there was no dispute among the INDIA bloc members over appointing its convenor, but said there was no need to project any face for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls as the leader can be chosen once the results are declared.
He said that during a virtual meeting of INDIA bloc leaders held on Saturday, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's name was suggested for the post of convenor, but the latter was of the view that a team of party chiefs should be formed and that there is no need to appoint a convenor.
During the virtual meeting, the INDIA bloc leaders discussed various aspects of the alliance and the preparations for the Lok Sabha elections due in April-May.
Talking to reporters at Junnar in Pune district after attending the meeting, Pawar said, "There was a suggestion made by the bloc members (during the meeting) that Nitish Kumar be appointed as its convenor, but the latter said that a team of party chiefs should be formed and that there is no need to appoint a convenor." "There is no need to project one face to seek votes. We will select the leader after the elections and we are confident of providing an alternative. In 1977, Morarji Desai was not projected as the prime ministerial face by the opposition," the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president said, adding that it was a positive sign that several parties were coming together.
Pawar said he could not attend the entire virtual meeting as he had some other pre-scheduled engagements.
"Candidates (for the Lok Sabha elections) were not discussed...We will discuss seat-sharing. For the Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, seat-sharing was discussed and we will announce once it is finalised," he said.

Trinamool Congress, which is abstaining from the virtual meeting of the INDIA bloc, Saturday affirmed its commitment to it but said that Congress should recognise its limitations in Bengal and permit the party to spearhead the political battle in it.
Top leaders of parties of the opposition INDIA bloc are holding discussions on Saturday on strengthening the alliance, chalking out a formula on seat sharing and deciding whether to have a convenor of the opposition parties' grouping. This is the second such attempt as the previous attempt tohold a virtual meeting a few days ago did not materialise.
A TMC MP, familiar with the situation, emphasising the party's "dedication" to the grouping said, "We are committed to the INDIA alliance and want to work together to defeat BJP. But we sincerely wish that the Congress leadership acknowledges the limitations and weaknesses of their Bengal unit and allows us (TMC) to lead the fight in the state." The TMC Friday said that Mamata Banerjee will not be able to attend the virtual meeting as she has "prior engagements and will not be able to change them at 16 hours notice".
"We were told no one else can attend as only one person is allowed from each of the INDIA constituent parties," he said.
Earlier, TMC had declined to send representatives to meetings with the Congress' national alliance committee on seat sharing for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, citing its prior stance which it had communicated to the Congress.
The TMC had offered Congress two seats in West Bengal based on the result of the 2019 Lok Sabha election. The Congress, however, deemed the offer inadequate.
Last week TMC Lok Sabha Party leader Sudip Bandopadhyay indicated the party's willingness to collaborate with the Congress but said the party will go solo if negotiations fail. Recently state Congress president and the party's leader in the Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, who is a vocal critic of TMC, asserted that his party will not "beg" for seats from TMC.
Multiple sources familiar with the situation have confirmed that TMC could consider sharing three to four seats with Congress out of the state's total 42 Lok Sabha seats.
In the 2019 elections, TMC secured 22 seats and Congress bagged two, while BJP secured 18 seats in the state. Chowdhury had won the Baharampur seat, while Abu Hasem Khan Choudhury, a former union minister, secured a third consecutive win from Malda Dakshin.
Banerjee's proposal for an alliance between TMC, Congress and the Left in West Bengal in November last year met swift dismissal from the CPI (M) and criticism from some Congress leaders. Days later, she accused the two parties of aligning with the BJP and asserted that TMC would confront the saffron camp in West Bengal.
The TMC had allied with the Congress thrice in the past - the 2001 assembly polls, 2009 Lok Sabha elections and the 2011 assembly polls, which saw the ousting of the CPI(M)-led Left Front government of 34 years.&nbsp;

Several senior leaders of Opposition parties are participating in the demonstration.
On Thursday, the Opposition leaders carried out a protest march from Parliament to Vijay Chowk.
A total of 146 MPs -- 100 from Lok Sabha and 46 from Rajya Sabha -- are currently suspended so far for creating a ruckus and disrupting proceedings in both Houses, while they were demanding a statement from Union Minister Amit Shah about the Parliament security breach incident.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Monday said the INDIA bloc's prime ministerial candidate will be decided after the 2024 general elections, expressing confidence that the alliance will iron out all issues including over seat-sharing and defeat the BJP.
She also dismissed suggestions that the alliance has lost time in putting things in order, saying "it is better late than never". She expressed confidence that a three-way alliance is very much possible in West Bengal between her TMC, Congress and the Left.
"The BJP is not strong, we are weak. We need to work together to overcome it," Banerjee told reporters here in reply to a question on the BJP's rising influence, especially in the Hindi belt.
She also said she doesn't discriminate between the Hindi belt and other regions.
On the suspension on opposition MPs in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, Banerjee said it shows the BJP is afraid. "Do you think they (the BJP) became so arrogant because they won two states...They're afraid so they suspended".
"Even with such majority, they're scared... The voice of people has been choked. They can suspend the whole House. They have no moral ground to run the House... It is mockery of democracy," she said.
The TMC boss asserted her full support to expelled party MP Mahua Moitra, and said the parliamentary party will decide on her Krishnanagar seat.
She also made light of the BJP's assertion that PM Modi will return for a third term, saying 2024 is not a done deal.&nbsp;

Floor leaders of 17 parties of the INDIA opposition bloc on Wednesday met at the residence of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and discussed steps to be taken to improve coordination among them to take on the BJP in Lok Sabha elections.
Kharge had invited the leaders over dinner and another meeting would be held in the third week of December that will be attended by top leaders including some chief ministers from the opposition parties.
Among Congress leaders present at Kharge's residence were former party chief Rahul Gandhi, its leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and deputy leader in Rajya Sabha Pramod Tiwari, besides general secretaries K C Venugopal and Jairam Ramesh.
The opposition leaders present at the meeting included Mahua Majhi of JMM, Vaiko of MDMK, N K Premchandran (RSP), Binoy Viswam (CPI), Lalan Singh of JDU, Ram Gopal Yadav and ST Hasan of SP, Jayant Chaudhary of RLD.
Besides, Vandana Chavan of NCP, Raghav Chadha of AAP, Tiruchi Siva of DMK and Congress leaders Gaurav Gogoi, Naseer Hussain and Rajani Patil were also present at the meeting that started around 7 PM and continued for an hour.
Elamaram Kareem (CPI-M), Faiyaz Ahmad (RJD), Jose K Mani of Kerala Congress (M), Javed Ali Khan (SP), TR Baalu (DMK), Hasnain Masoodi (NC) and Mohd Basheer (IUML) also attended the meeting.
No leader of the TMC, which is part of the INDIA bloc, however, attended the meeting. Party sources did not specify a reason for not attending the meeting but said West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to attend the meeting of opposition parties in the third week of December.

Sources said the opposition leaders would now plan joint rallies that were put on hold due to the assembly elections. One such rally planned in the first week of October in Bhopal was cancelled at the last moment.

Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar on Sunday said the outcome of the Assembly elections in four states will not have any impact on the INDIA bloc, which comprises more than 25 opposition parties led by the Congress.
After initial rounds of counting, the Bharatiya Janata Party seems set to snatch power from the Congress in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh and retain it in Madhya Pradesh.
The Congress is leading on 65 out of 199 seats in Telangana, while the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, which was ruling the state for the past 10 years, is ahead on 39 seats.
"I don't think this will have any impact on the INDIA alliance. We will be meeting at Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge's residence in Delhi. We will speak to those who know the ground reality. We will be able to comment on it after the meeting only," Pawar said.
One must accept that the current trends are in favour of the BJP, the NCP chief and Opposition stalwart added.
On the K Chandrasekhar Rao-led BRS trailing the Congress in the southern state, Pawar said it would be too early to say anything.
"Earlier, it was assumed the BRS would retain Telangana. However, after Rahul Gandhi's rally, which received a huge response, we realised there will be change in the state," Pawar claimed.
Pawar's NCP is part of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), which was formed to take on the ruling BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
Assembly polls were held in the month of November in Chhattisgarh (7 and 17), Mizoram (7), Madhya Pradesh (17), Rajasthan (25) and Telangana (30).&nbsp;
