A viral video on X purportedly shows a masked man firing shots outside the singer&rsquo;s house in the Victoria Island area. As per the messages circulating online, the Bishnoi-Godara gang as per messages circulating on social media claimed that it carried out shootings in two locations in Canada - Victoria Island and Woodbridge, Toronto.&nbsp;

The National Investigation Agency has said that jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his associates have made a new alliance with a Jharkhand-based gangster, Aman Sahu. An Indian Express source said that one of the associates of Sahu met the associates of Bishnoi in Tihar jail.&nbsp;
&ldquo;Investigations into multiple cases have shown that Sahu and his gang members supply arms and ammunition to various organisations, including the banned CPI (Maoist). He is operating from jail through his gang members, who use arms and ammunition for extortion in various mining areas. In Tihar jail, one of the associates of Sahu met the associates of Bishnoi,&rdquo; the source said.

"We want peace. If the only decision against oppression is war, then so be it. Salman Khan, we have only shown you a trailer so that you understand the magnitude of our strength and do not test it. This is the first and last warning. After this, shots will not be fired outside the house only. And we have dogs named after Dawood Ibrahim and Chota Shakeel, whom you consider to be Gods. Now, I don't have the habit of talking much," the purported viral social media post read.&nbsp;

Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's gang has claimed responsibility for the killing of gangster Sukhdool Singh aka Sukha Duneke in Canada's Winnipeg.
Sukha, who was on NIA's most wanted list, was reportedly killed in an inter-gang rivalry on September 20.
Bishnoi gang in a Facebook statement said that Duneke was responsible for the killings of gangsters Gurlal Brar and Vicky Middkhera.&nbsp;
As per reports, Sukha had links with Khalistani extremists. He fled to Canada from India on forged documents in 2017 and has seven criminal cases registered against him.
This comes amid an ongoing standoff between India and Canada over Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar's killing.

India's premier terror probe agency launched widespread raids on 21 February 2023, in a crackdown on gangster syndicates, and their nexus with terrorist outfits.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) reportedly conducted searches at 70 locations across 8 states and Union Territories. Raids took place in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh.

A brother, a son, a world famous musician, and a politician - Sidhu Moose Wala wore many hats. He was beloved to many, as evident by the thousands of people who came to mourn him at his funeral. Before he tragically lost his life to bullets on May 29, Punjabi Rap&rsquo;s rising star lived life at breaking pace, already achieving many accolades by the age of 28.
Born Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu in the village of Moosa in the Mansa district of Punjab, Moose Wala chose his stage name to honour his place of birth. He reportedly started listening to hip hop music from Grade 6, and admired the music of Tupac Shakur, widely considered one of the most influential rappers of all time.
In 2016, after completing an engineering degree, Moose Wala moved to Brampton in the Ontario province of Canada, where he shot to fame with his 2017 song &lsquo;So High&rsquo;. Moose Wala&rsquo;s success on the global stage came fast. In 2018, he released his debut album &lsquo;PBX 1&rsquo;, which charted in Canada, and won awards. He had 6 singles chart in the Billboard Hot 100 in Canada, and one in the UK. In 2020, the Guardian included him in their 50 best new artists&rsquo; list, noting that South Asian music rarely crosses over to the UK.

In India, his popularity knew no bounds, with songs regularly topping Hot 100 charts. Along with music, he also starred in Punjabi films. He started his own music label, in his own name, under which he released two of his own albums, along with works by other artists. The label later came to be called 5911 records, in reference to a popular tractor. It was on a 5911 tractor that his body was carried for last rites at his funeral.
In his lyrics, Moose Wala often evoked imagery of rural life from Punjab, even when writing from Canada. Along with references to farms and tractors were lyrics about bravado, self-belief, and rebellion. They included aggressive lines about firing guns, pot shots at rivals, and lines referencing rebellion against religious norms. These lyrics, which spoke deeply to fans and endeared him to many, also landed him in controversy. Moose Wala was criticised for promoting gun culture, a problem many see as endemic to the Punjabi film and music industries. In 2019, police barred him from performing in Surrey in the UK, citing a risk of violence. In India, he was booked under two sections of the Arms Act in 2020 for a video where police officers were showing him how to fire guns.
Moose Wala was also active in Indian politics. He supported the farmers&rsquo; protests against the government&rsquo;s three proposed farm laws, now repealed. He later joined the Indian National Congress ahead of the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections, which he contested from his home constituency of Mansa. Despite massive crowds at his political rallies, much like his concerts, he lost to the Aam Aadmi Party&rsquo;s Vijay Singla by a margin of over 63,000 votes. He released his song &rsquo;Scapegoat&rsquo; in April, lamenting his failure in the elections.
On May 29, Sidhu Moose Wala was driving his car in Mansa when he was shot at by assailants, and perished as a result. Reports indicate he was shot over two dozen times. It was in Canada that Sidhu Moose Wala made his name as a global star, and it&rsquo;s those ties that seem to have come back to haunt him.

Punjab police linked the murder to a gang run by Lawrence Bishnoi, a criminal who is linked with over two dozen murder and extortion cases, and is presently incarcerated in Tihar jail. A Facebook profile claiming to be Goldy Brar, a Canada-based gangster linked with the gang, has taken responsibility for the killing, saying that Moose Wala was killed to avenge the murders of his cousin, and a fellow gang member. Moose Wala&rsquo;s manager, Shaganpreet, was reportedly linked with the murders.
Parts of Canada have long suffered from organised crime by Indo-Canadian gangs, many of whom are staffed by second-generation immigrants from Punjab. According to a report, between 2006 to 2014, South Asians accounted for 21.3% of gang-related deaths in the British Columbia region. In April 2021, police busted an Indo-Canadian drug trafficking network in the city of Brampton, where Moose Wala made his name, and seized over $2.3 million in drugs, and 48 fire arms.
Moose Wala&rsquo;s family has denied all links to gang-related crimes, and demanded an independent probe into the shooting, presided over by a sitting High Court judge.
Sidhu Moose Wala&rsquo;s life eerily resembles that of his icon, Tupac Shakur. On May 15, a fortnight before his eventual death, Moose Wala released a song titled &lsquo;The Last Ride&rsquo;. In it, he talks about how the glow on the young man&rsquo;s face expresses, that he knows he will die young. The cover art for the single is an image of Tupac Shakur&rsquo;s car, in which he was shot and killed in 1996. He was only 25, and the controversial murder was purported to have ties to organised crime.
Like Tupac, Sidhu Moose Wala had a short career, in which he moved fast, broke rules, courted controversy, and endeared himself to many. Like Tupac, Moose Wala&rsquo;s legacy will likely outlive him, and reach far and wide.

According to reports, investigations in Mumbai, Punjab, and Delhi revealed that gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar had planned to kill Salman Khan.

Salman Khan has faced death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang following the murder of rapper Sidhu Moosewala. Now, the actor has reportedly been provided with a Y+ security by the Maharashtra government due to security concerns. He was given regular police protection from the Mumbai Police so far.&nbsp; &nbsp; As per a Mid-Day report, the actor will have four armed security personnel by his side at all times. Actors Akshay Kumar and Anupam Kher have also been given X category security cover, which means they will have three security officers in shifts protecting them.&nbsp; &nbsp; Mid-Day report states that the cost of the protection will be borne by the celebrities.&nbsp; &nbsp; In June this year, Salman Khan and his father-writer Salim Khan were sent a threat letter, which threatened to do a &lsquo;Moosewala&rsquo; to them, a reference to the singer, who was murdered in Punjab May this year. Gangster Deepak Tinu was being taken from the Mansa CIA police station by CIA in-charge Pritpal Singh in his car when he escaped.

Sidhu Moose Wala murder : In major embarrassment for Punjab authorities, a gangster accused in the murder case of Sidhu Moose Wala escaped from police custody. Deepak Tinu escaped from the custody of the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) unit of the Mansa Police on the intervening night of October 1 and 2, 2022.
The alleged gangster had been brought from Goindwal Sahib jail in Tarn Taran to Mansa district for a different murder case probe when he managed to flee. Deepak Tinu was being taken from the Mansa CIA police station by CIA in-charge Pritpal Singh in his car when he escaped. Police said that the CIA in-charge did not have permission to take the gangster with him.
The CIA in-charge was subsequently dismissed from service. Punjab Police said they are coordinating with Haryana's Special Task Force and Delhi's Special Cell to capture Deepak Tinu.
Tinu is a close aide of gangster <a href="https://www.editorji.com/india-news/local/why-gangster-lawrence-bishnoi-will-never-forgive-salman-khan-1657531331474">Lawrence Bishnoi</a>, who is also an accused in the Moose Wala case. A month after Bollywood star Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan received death threats in a letter, the actor on Friday met Mumbai Commissioner of Police Vivek Pansalkar at his office in South Mumbai and reportedly sought a weapon license.

Last month, Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan had received a letter threatening that the father-son duo would meet the fate of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, who was killed in May.

A month after Bollywood star Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan received death threats in a letter, the actor on Friday met Mumbai Commissioner of Police Vivek Pansalkar at his office in South Mumbai and reportedly sought a weapon license.
The 56-year-old actor reportedly submitted a written application to Mumbai police to seek a weapon license for his protection.
Last month, Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan had received a letter threatening that the father-son duo would meet the fate of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, who was killed in May. After the letter, Khan's security was enhanced after an FIR was filed at Bandra police station against an unknown person in the case. Further probe into the incident is underway.&nbsp;

Around the same time, it was reported that Salman was on the radar of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who recently confessed to the police that he had sent death threats to the actor through an aide in connection with the blackbuck posching case. Bishnoi also told the polcie during interrogation that he and his community, which regards blackbuck sacred, would 'never forgive' Salman Khan.

Last week, Salman's lawyer Hasti Mal Saraswat, who is representing him &nbsp;in the blackbuck poaching case in Jodhpur, had claimed that he had received death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in a letter addressed to him.

Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, currently in the custody of Punjab Police in connection with two murder cases, said his community will never forgive Bollywood actor Salman Khan for killing a blackbuck, regarded sacred by the Bishnoi community, unless he apologises in public, the Delhi Police Special cell said on Sunday.
Bishnoi made these revelations while he was being interrogated in connection with the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.
Last week, Salman's lawyer Hastimal Saraswat, who is representing him &nbsp;in the blackbuck poaching case in Jodhpur, had claimed that he had received death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in a letter addressed to him.
It said the lawyer will meet Sidhu Moosewala&rsquo;s fate, adding that an &ldquo;enemy&rsquo;s friend is their first enemy&rdquo;.
The authencity of the threat letter is yet to be ascertained by the police.
HGS Dhaliwal, special commissioner (special cell), said that during interrogation, Lawrence candidly admitted that Salman Khan's acquittal or punishment from the court will not be the last verdict for him given that Bishnois consider the blackbuck the reincarnation of their spiritual leader, Bhagwan Jambeshwar, also known as Jambaji. &nbsp;&ldquo;The actor and his father either tender public apology in Jambaji temple or the Bishnois will kill them.&rdquo;
In June, a few days after the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, Salman Khan received a threat letter which read that the actor and his father Salim Khan will suffer the same fate as Moose Wala.

Two men were arrested for allegedly making extortion calls to a Ludhiana-based businessman demanding Rs 10 lakh in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar, police said on Wednesday.
According to the police, the accused also threatened that he would meet the same fate as singer and politician Sidhu Moosewala, who was shot dead recently, if he did not oblige to the demand.
Accused Shakti Singh, 29, and Afzal Khan, 24, are residents of Bilaspur in Chattisgarh. Another person named Raja, a resident of Gopalganj in Bihar, is yet to be arrested, they said.
The businessman in his complaint alleged that he had been receiving threat calls from unknown international and Indian numbers since June 4, police said.
The callers identified themselves to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi-Goldy Brar gang and demanded Rs 10 lakh. They threatened to kill him, just like Moosewala, if he failed to pay the money, a senior police officer said.
The accused had allegedly also sent details of a bank account the businessman to transfer the money.
The Punjab Police had informed us that the location of the one of the phone numbers used in making the extortion calls was traced to Delhi and that the caller was changing his location frequently, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations) KPS Malhotra said.
During investigation, the caller was traced to Gurugram Sector-22 and nabbed along with another person and the phone was recovered. This phone was registered in Khan's name, the DCP said.
Singh revealed to the police that in January, he met the third accused Raja, who told him to arrange bank accounts and ATM cards, police said.
At Raja's behest, Singh arranged around 25 bank accounts and received Rs 25,000 for each of them, police said.

Two men were arrested for allegedly making extortion calls to a Ludhiana-based businessman demanding Rs 10 lakh in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar, police said on Wednesday.
According to the police, the accused also threatened that he would meet the same fate as singer and politician Sidhu Moosewala, who was shot dead recently, if he did not oblige to the demand.
Accused Shakti Singh, 29, and Afzal Khan, 24, are residents of Bilaspur in Chattisgarh. Another person named Raja, a resident of Gopalganj in Bihar, is yet to be arrested, they said.
The businessman in his complaint alleged that he had been receiving threat calls from unknown international and Indian numbers since June 4, police said.
The callers identified themselves to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi-Goldy Brar gang and demanded Rs 10 lakh. They threatened to kill him, just like Moosewala, if he failed to pay the money, a senior police officer said.
The accused had allegedly also sent details of a bank account the businessman to transfer the money.
The Punjab Police had informed us that the location of the one of the phone numbers used in making the extortion calls was traced to Delhi and that the caller was changing his location frequently, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations) KPS Malhotra said.
During investigation, the caller was traced to Gurugram Sector-22 and nabbed along with another person and the phone was recovered. This phone was registered in Khan's name, the DCP said.
Singh revealed to the police that in January, he met the third accused Raja, who told him to arrange bank accounts and ATM cards, police said.
At Raja's behest, Singh arranged around 25 bank accounts and received Rs 25,000 for each of them, police said.

A manager of a jewellery showroom here has alleged that he received an extortion call from Canada-based Goldy Brar, a close aide of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, following which an FIR has been lodged.
According to the complaint filed by Sachin Kumar, a resident of Delhi, he works at a jewellery showroom in Gold Souk Mall, Sector 43 as manager and at around 11:30 am he got the call from a 16-digit number on his mobile phone.
An FIR has been registered at Sushant Lok police station.
“The caller claimed that he is Goldy Brar from Canada. He asked about the jewellery showroom and I told him that I am the manager here. He said that we collected a lot of money and asked me to either arrange Rs 5 lakh by evening or I will be killed. I approached the police,” Kumar said.
Following the complaint, an FIR has been registered against the unknown caller under IPC sections 387 (extortion), and 507 (criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication) at Sushant Lok police station and the investigation assigned to the crime unit.
“Our teams are on job and I hope the accused caller will be arrested soon ”, said Preet Pal Singh Sangwan, ACP, crime.
Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar had taken responsibility for the sensational killing of Punjabi singer and Congress politician Sidhu Moosewala recently.
Bishnoi is also a suspect in the case.

"The SIT headed by Inspector General of Police Jaskaran Singh is making steady progress in the investigation and connecting the dots by working on the leads gathered so far through interrogation of the suspects already arrested and other inputs," Ban, who also heads the Anti-Gangster Task Force, was quoted as saying in a statement issued by the Punjab government on Tuesday night.
Following “strenuous” efforts made by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to put Moosewala's killers behind bars, the Punjab Police on Tuesday got the transit remand of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi from the Patiala House Court in Delhi, the statement said.
Bishnoi is being brought to Punjab under heavy security cover and is expected to reach early Wednesday, it said.
The court passed the order as Punjab Police produced Bishnoi before it after formally arresting him in the case, according to the statement.
The statement said Bishnoi, who has been named as an accused and conspirator in Moosewala's murder case, was in the custody of Delhi Police for the last 14 days.
The Delhi Police had brought the gangster on production warrants from Tihar Jail and on completion of his police remand on Tuesday. The Special Cell of Delhi Police produced Bishnoi in the court.
According to the statement, the Advocate General of Punjab appeared in the court in Delhi on the directions of Mann to demand Bishnoi’s transit remand.
An application was moved by the SIT investigating the murder case to seek permission of the court to arrest Bishnoi against whom the local Mansa court had already issued arrest warrants.
The plea of the Punjab Police was contested by the lawyers of the accused on the grounds of his security in the custody of the Punjab Police, which was opposed by the Advocate General of Punjab.
After hearing the contentions of both the parties, the court granted permission to arrest the accused and also gave a transit remand, it said.
Bishnoi will be produced in the court of chief judicial magistrate, Mansa and taken on police remand for further interrogation to unravel the conspiracy and the motive behind the killing, said the statement.
Earlier, Punjab Police had said the killing of Moosewala seemed to be the result of an inter-gang rivalry and that the Bishnoi gang was involved in it.
Punjab Police has arrested nine people for providing logistic support, conducting recce, and harbouring the shooters of Moosewala, the statement said.
The arrested include Charanjit Singh alias Chetan, Manpreet Singh alias Manna, Manpreet Bhau, Saraj Mintu, all residents of Punjab, and Sandeep Singh alias Kekda, Prabhdeep Sidhu alias Pabbi, Monu Dagar, Pawan Bishnoi and Naseeb hailing from Haryana, it said.

Gangster Kala Jathedi and his aide Kala Rana, who were in police custody in a different case, were also questioned in connection with the killing of Moosewala.  According to officials, after questioning Bishnoi in Tihar prison, he was produced at the Patiala House court and was remanded in three days of police custody for questioning in connection with the case where three criminals were arrested after a brief encounter with the Special Cell's unit last month.
During interrogation, the arrested criminals had disclosed that the weapons recovered from them were supplied by Bishnoi, a senior police official said.  The development came a day after a Delhi court refused to entertain a plea filed by Bishnoi seeking a direction to the jail authorities not to give his custody to Punjab police, which suspects that he had plotted the singer's killing.
Bishnoi has moved the Delhi High Court under the apprehension of a fake encounter by the Punjab Police.
The Punjab Police had earlier said Moosewala's killing seemed to be the result of an inter-gang rivalry and the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was involved in it.

This is not the first time that such a gangster sitting in prison has been accused of plotting or perpetrating a crime.

Then in March 2021, police said that a Tihar inmate called up an associate from inside the jail to smuggle mercury inside to poison 2 inmates. In March 2022, an associate of gangster Tillu Tajpuriya was killed as part of plot hatched in Tihar by slain gangster Jitender Gogi's aides, as per police.
To avoid detection, criminals keep changing their method of communication, like using voice and video call features of social media platforms, to sending voice recordings.
But how do jail inmates get access to phones? The mobile devices can be handed to inmates by acquaintances during jail meetings or court hearings. In some cases at Tihar, mobile phones were wrapped in cloth or socks and thrown over the boundary wall of the jail. The other way is to either bribe or coerce jail staff.
The hiding places are quite unique, and disturbing. In August 2019, a Tihar prisoner swallowed 4 mobile phones. Doctors made him vomit three out, but the fourth was had to be surgically removed from his rectum.
In August 2021, an NIA team probing the case of a bomb scare outside Mukesh Ambani's house seized two phones at Tihar from the alleged chief of Indian Mujahideen. In January 2022, an inmate swallowed a phone to hide it, and doctors had to fish it out using a snare.
With such instances occurring at regular intervals, most recently in the Moose Wala and Lawrence Bishnoi case, questions have been raised about the situation at high-security prisons like Tihar.

This is not the first time that such a gangster sitting in prison has been accused of plotting or perpetrating a crime.
In June 2020, an associate of gangster Manjeet Mahal allegedly sent an audio file to businessman from Delhi's Tihar jail and demanded ₹1 crore. Just a month later, gangster Jitender Gogi allegedly threatened a businessman from inside Tihar prison, demanding ₹5 crore.

Then in March 2021, police said that a Tihar inmate called up an associate from inside the jail to smuggle mercury inside to poison 2 inmates. In March 2022, an associate of gangster Tillu Tajpuriya was killed as part of plot hatched in Tihar by slain gangster Jitender Gogi's aides, as per police.
To avoid detection, criminals keep changing their method of communication, like using voice and video call features of social media platforms, to sending voice recordings.
But how do jail inmates get access to phones? The mobile devices can be handed to inmates by acquaintances during jail meetings or court hearings. In some cases at Tihar, mobile phones were wrapped in cloth or socks and thrown over the boundary wall of the jail. The other way is to either bribe or coerce jail staff.
The hiding places are quite unique, and disturbing. In August 2019, a Tihar prisoner swallowed 4 mobile phones. Doctors made him vomit three out, but the fourth was had to be surgically removed from his rectum.
In August 2021, an NIA team probing the case of a bomb scare outside Mukesh Ambani's house seized two phones at Tihar from the alleged chief of Indian Mujahideen. In January 2022, an inmate swallowed a phone to hide it, and doctors had to fish it out using a snare.
With such instances occurring at regular intervals, most recently in the Moose Wala and Lawrence Bishnoi case, questions have been raised about the situation at high-security prisons like Tihar.

Next is her boyfriend Kala Jathedi, whose real name is Sandeep, and hails from Sonepat in Haryana. He carried a bounty of ₹7 lakh on his head when he was captured. Jathedi was allegedly involved in 40 murders. He was wanted by Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, and Rajasthan police for several heinous crimes. He had also escaped from Haryana Police's custody in 2020.
Then, there is Sampat Nehra, whose claim to fame is that he allegedly tried to assassinate Bollywood actor Salman Khan. He is the son of a retired Chandigarh police officer, and was arrested from Hyderabad in 2018 by the Haryana Special Task Force. Nehra was also allegedly involved in the 2018 incident when Punjabi singer Parmish Verma was shot.
Another infamous member of the Bishnoi gang is Kala Rana. Virender Partap aka Kala Rana was accused in over 30 cases of murder, attempted murder, extortion, and criminal intimidation. He fled to Thailand in 2017-18, using a forged passport. However, he was deported and arrested by Delhi Police in March 2022. A native of Karnal in Haryana, Kala Rana was allegedly involved in crimes in Rajasthan, Punjab, Chandigarh and Delhi.
The leader of this gang is Lawrence Bishnoi, who is lodged in Delhi's Tihar Jail. Bishnoi hails from Ferozepur, and served as president of the Students' Organisation of Panjab University (SOPU), as per reports. He is in jail under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
