Maruti Suzuki has launched its much awaited fourth generation 'The Epic new Swift', entering into a new era of style and performance in the compact car segment. The all-new Swift's price starts at Rs 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom India) and will go on sale in the country on May 9, 2024. The Deliveries are also likely to begin from June this year.
<h3>Swift Pre-sale</h3>
Customers can pre-book the new Swift which is already underway at Maruti Suzuki dealerships across India. Orders can be placed by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000. Maruti Suzuki has already booked 10,000 units and 30,000 have been earmarked for exports.
The company also announced a monthly subscription of Rs 17,436 for the car. As per MD &amp; CEO of MSIL Hisashi Takeuchi, the automaker has invested an amount of Rs 1,450 crore in the development of its new offering. Takeuchi further added that out of the 6 million Swifts around the world, 3 million are present in India, making it the largest market for the hatchback.
"The hatchback segment in India continues to be a high-volume segment, accounting for approximately 28% of total passenger vehicle sales. Interestingly, the premium hatchback segment contributes nearly 60% of total hatchback sales," the MD said.
<h3>Fourth generation Swift's features</h3>
One of the most significant update in the car is a brand-new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z-series petrol engine, delivering 80 bhp of power and 112 Nm of torque. This is again paired with a choice of either a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT gearbox. Maruti Suzuki also claims an impressive mileage of 25.72 kmpl.
The car's length is increased by 15mm, 40mm rise in narrower profile, and a 30mm taller stance compared to its predecessor. Meanwhile, the wheelbase remains unchanged at 2,450mm, ensuring stability and agility on the road.
The design has also undergone changes featuring a reimagined grille with an all-black finish, redesigned LED headlights, and a clever relocation of the rear door handles to the doors themselves. The interior is also revamped, much alike to Fronx, Brezza, and Baleno, exuding a premium aura.
The interior boasts a new 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system, complete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, seamlessly integrating your digital life with your driving experience. The car also offers an even larger 9-inch touchscreen along with a suite of luxurious features including a 360-degree camera, Head-up Display, wireless charging, and rear AC vents.
In the safety front, the fourth-gen Swift possesses six airbags as standard across all variants, along with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and hill start assist for smooth drives.

Maruti Suzuki, one of India's leading automobile manufacturers, has kicked off the financial year with fresh offers on select models from its Nexa range. Potential buyers can now avail discounts of up to ₹1.5 lakh on popular models including the Baleno, Fronx, and Jimny.
The current discounts encompass a variety of benefits such as cash discounts, exchange bonuses, and corporate offers. However, it's noteworthy that these offers are subject to variation based on location and variant availability.&nbsp;
For the Ignis, buyers can enjoy benefits of up to ₹58,000, comprising a cash discount of ₹, exchange bonus of ₹15,000, and a corporate discount of ₹3,000. Similar enticing offers extend to other models within the lineup.
The Baleno hatchback, for instance, presents a cash discount of INR 35,000 along with an exchange bonus of ₹15,000 and a corporate discount of ₹3,000. Meanwhile, the Ciaz offers discounts of up to ₹53,000, inclusive of a discount on the sticker price, exchange bonus, and corporate benefits.
Grand Vitara mild hybrid variants come with benefits totaling up to ₹58,000, while the turbo-petrol variants of the Fronx offer benefits of up to ₹68,000, which includes a cash discount, accessory kit, exchange bonus, and corporate benefits.
Notably, the MY2023 units of the Jimny's Alpha trim are up for grabs with a significant discount of ₹1.5 lakh, while newer MY2024 models also come with attractive cash discounts.

From India&rsquo;s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki to luxury automaker, Mercedes-Benz have announced that they will hike the prices of its models from January 2023 and that the increase will vary for different models.&nbsp;
While Maruti stated that recent regulatory requirements and inflation are the reasons behind why it announced the hike for different models, Mercedes-Benz said a constant increase in input costs and increased logistics costs have been exerting significant pressure on the overall operational costs of the company.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Other than this, companies like Honda, Tata Motors, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Renault, Kia India and MG Motor have also made the year-end announcements to hike prices from Janurary 1st.&nbsp;&nbsp;
