Price pressures in the commodity markets continue, Cotton prices in mandi's in Gujarat have touched a record high of Rs 10,000. The price at Rajkot APMC (largest in the state) is nearly double of what cotton retailed at in 2020. The surge in prices traders say can be attributed to the low production due to heavy unseasonal rains in parts of the country. The high demand for the produce in the international market has also triggered the hike in the prices.December-January marks the peak of cotton marketing season and supply is almost half as compared to normal years as per traders. Jamnagar APMC records arrivals of around 2,000 quintals daily of cotton but as per reports is hardly getting around 1,000 quintals these days.

The price of around Rs 9,500 is almost double as compared to last year&rsquo;s average price of around Rs 5,500.

Perhaps taking a page out of the petrol hike rule book, French luxury behemoth Chanel has raised prices of some of its&nbsp;most popular handbags yet again.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Although price adjustments are a common practice once a year,&nbsp;this is&nbsp;Chanel&rsquo;s&nbsp;fourth or fifth price hike on&nbsp;certain&nbsp;products since the start of the pandemic.

For instance, the price of Chanel&rsquo;s&nbsp;small classic flap bag&nbsp;has increased by 60 per cent since November 2019, now costing $8,200 or around&nbsp;₹6,18,000.&nbsp;The larger variant of the same bag costs&nbsp;$9,500 (₹7,15,000), up from $7,400 (₹5,57,000) in June 2021.
For&nbsp;some&nbsp;perspective, the infamously expensive Birkin&nbsp;by&nbsp;French luxury brand&nbsp;Herm&egrave;s&nbsp;now costs about $115 (₹8,600), less than the medium-sized Chanel flap bag.
<h3>Why is Chanel going gaga with price hikes?&nbsp;&nbsp;</h3>
Chanel says the hikes are in response to unspecified exchange-rate fluctuations, changes in production costs and to ensure its handbags cost roughly the same around the world.
Industry experts say essentially&nbsp;Chanel&nbsp;wants&nbsp;to become more exclusive, as part of an effort to become as or even more iconic than the Birkin or Kelly bag by&nbsp;long-time&nbsp;rival Herm&egrave;s.

In recent years, luxury brands like Chanel have even placed limits on the number of products a customer can purchase&nbsp;at a given time.&nbsp;Although the limits don&rsquo;t seem to be in place for every city, reports say that at least in Paris, New York and&nbsp;Korea, you can only buy one&nbsp;Chanel&nbsp;bag in a month.

In fact CNG prices have now increased for the fourth time in the last three months Earlier, prices were increased on October 1, 13, and November 14 as well.
Following the latest price revision, the revised CNG price in NCT of Delhi would be Rs.53.04/- per Kg.
Apart from the national capital, the IGL also hiked CNG prices in the neighbouring state of Haryana. In Gurugram, the revised CNG price now stands at Rs.60.40/- per Kg.
Additionally, in Rajasthan, the company said that the revised CNG price in Ajmer, Pali and Rajsamand would be Rs.67.31/- per kg.
CNG price hikes have added pressure to local transport providers across the country. In Mumbai, auto & taxi unions have threatened to strike demanding a hike in fares.
