In a rare show of support to Ashok Gehlot, Congress leader Sachin Pilot has condemned the Enforcement Directorate's summons to the Rajasthan chief minister's son, Vaibhav Gehlot. Pilot said the BJP cannot scare Congress leaders with such tactics and that all the leaders and workers of the party in Rajasthan were "standing together in solidarity". "Raids happened but the Congress won the elections. The situation is worrisome. They have unleashed terror in the country," Gehlot told reporters at a press conference here.
Asserting that the Congress "will not be scared no matter how hard they try, he alleged the BJP was targeting him through ED raids as they could not topple his government.
"We will win the election," the Rajasthan chief minister asserted.
Citing data, Gehlot said that 112 searches by the ED happened during 10 years of UPA rule and charge sheets were filed in 104 cases. But after 2014, as many as 3,010 raids happened and charge sheets were filed in 881 cases, he said.
The Congress' state in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, state ministers Mahesh Joshi and Pratap Singh Khachariyawas were among those also present at the press conference.
The Enforcement Directorate on Thursday raided the premises of Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra and Omprakash Hudla, the party's candidate from Mahua assembly seat, as part of a money laundering probe into the alleged exam paper leak case in the poll-bound state.
The federal probe agency has also summoned Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's son Vaibhav Gehlot for questioning in a case related to alleged contravention of the foreign exchange law.
After the raids, Congress workers sat on a dharna in Sikar and Jaipur and raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.&nbsp;

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday reconstituted the party's top decision-making body, the Congress Working Committee (CWC).
While 39 members of the all-important panel are general members, it has 32 permanent invitees, including some in-charges of state and 13 special invitees, including presidents of the Youth Congress, the National Students' Union of India, the Mahila Congress and the Seva Dal as ex-officio members.
Sachin Pilot, who rebelled against the party's government in Rajasthan and was later removed as deputy chief minister, is also among the new CWC members. The CWC was formed months after Kharge became the party president on October 10 last year and replaces the Steering Committee that was formed as a stop-gap arrangement.
Shashi Tharoor, Anand Sharma and Mukul Wasnik, who were part of the group of 23 leaders that had raised questions on the party's leadership under Sonia Gandhi, are among the general members of the new CWC. Manish Tewari and Veerappa Moily, who were also part of the grouping, have been made permanent invitees.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday accused the BJP of insulting former Congress leader, the late, Rajesh Pilot.
In a post on X, BJP IT department head Amit Malviya Malviya had claimed that Rajesh Pilot and Suresh Kalmadi were flying the Indian Air Force planes that bombed Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram, on March 5, 1966.
On Tuesday, Sachin Pilot hit out at Malviya on X, saying the facts and dates are wrong as his father was commissioned into the force in October of that year. He also shared the certificate according to which Rajesh Pilot was commissioned in the Indian Air Force on October 29, 1966.
In a post on X, Gehlot said Rajesh Pilot was a brave pilot of the Indian Air Force. "By insulting him, the BJP is insulting the sacrifice of the Indian Air Force. The whole country should condemn this," the chief minister and senior Congress leader said.

In an exclusive interview with PTI just days after the crucial Rajasthan polls strategy meeting of the party, Pilot said Kharge advised him to "forgive and forget" and move forward. "It was as much an advice as a directive." "Ashok Gehlot ji is older than me, he has more experience. He has heavy responsibilities on his shoulders. When I was the Rajasthan Congress president, I tried to take everyone along. I think that today he is the Chief Minister (Gehlot), so he is trying to take everyone along.
"If there is a little back and forth, then it is not a big issue because the party and the public are more important than any individual. I also understand this and he also understands it," the former Rajasthan deputy chief minister said.

Replying to the question, Gehlot said that if Pilot is in the party then he would undoubtedly work unitedly for the elections.&nbsp;
'If he (Sachin Pilot) is in the party then why won't he work together. The position is not important for me, I have been the chief minister thrice. Today it's my duty to do the work that the high command wants which is to win the election,' Gehlot said.&nbsp;
The Congress on Monday said the two leaders have agreed to the party's "proposal" and will fight the upcoming assembly elections unitedly, having left all issues to be resolved by the high command.
However, the sources said Monday's meeting of Gehlot and Pilot with party chief Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi did not result in any resolution of the "core issues" between the two Rajasthan bigwigs.
They also said Kharge and Rahul Gandhi first met Gehlot for two hours and then met Pilot separately after which all the leaders posed together for photographs at Kharge's residence. Interestingly, despite the meeting being held in the same house, the leadership held discussions with Gehlot and Pilot separately.

Flanked by 15 Congress MLAs at a rally in Jaipur on Monday, dissident leader Sachin Pilot on Monday served notice to Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot &ndash; agree to their demands by the month-end or face a state-wide agitation.
The public meeting marked the completion of Pilot&rsquo;s five-day foot march from Ajmer to Jaipur over &ldquo;inaction&rdquo; by the Gehlot government on &ldquo;corruption&rdquo; during the previous BJP term in the state.
Apart from a call for a high-level probe into corruption, Pilot spelled out two other demands &ndash; disbanding the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) and its reconstitution, and compensation for those affected by the cancellation of government recruitment exams after paper leaks.

The one-on-one meet with party MLAs which is underway is being held by CM Gehlot, party in charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, and Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee Govind Singh Dotasra.&nbsp;
Citing sources from Pilot's side, the publication said that the former deputy CM is on a solo outreach programme in the state, however, not much is needed to be read into this.

&nbsp;As he ended his daylong fast demanding action from his own government over cases of alleged corruption during the BJP term, senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Tuesday said his movement against graft will continue.
He was speaking to reporters after ending the fast at the Shaheed Smarak here. Pilot sat on the fast from 11 am to 4 pm.
"We had assured people that effective action will be taken against corruption by the former BJP government in the state. I wanted the Congress government to take action against the corruption by the former BJP government," he said.
"This movement against corruption will continue," Pilot added.

&nbsp;As senior Congress Sachin Pilot began his daylong fast against his own party-led government in Rajasthan on Tuesday, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot released a video portraying his vision to take the state to the top by 2030.
"I have decided that I have to make Rajasthan the top state by 2030. To realise this dream, the last four budgets and this year's 'Bachat, Rahat and Badhat' budget, I have made schemes no other state has," the chief minister was heard saying in the video.

As the Bharat Jodo Yatra's Rajasthan leg ended Wednesday, the Congress would have heaved a sigh of relief as it passed the state without any face-off between the supporters of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and his bete noire Sachin Pilot despite sloganeering on the roads.
The yatra's about 500 km route in Rajasthan was dotted with several Pilot strongholds and the foot march was boosted by massive numbers, several of them being his young supporters who raised slogans such as "Humara CM Kaisa ho, Sachin Pilot Jaisa ho" and "I Love You, I Love You, Sachin Pilot, I Love You".

Pilot himself walked alongside Rahul Gandhi for most of the distance and on some occasions was also seen gesturing to his supporters raising slogans in his support to not do so.
Gehlot also was a regular feature especially during the morning session of the yatra in the state. In certain places, supporters of Gehlot also raised slogans in his favour and highlighted his "good governance" in the state.
On the 100th day of the yatra, a massive crowd was seen participating in the march as a sea of people thronged the streets of Dausa with many also standing atop their houses and cheering for Gandhi, Gehlot and Pilot.
The yatra had provided a temporary thaw in the long-running Gehlot-Pilot power tussle which most political analysts believe could again flare up in the near future if not addressed by the leadership.
Last week, AICC general secretary K C Venugopal had said "everything will be resolved smoothly" and the party is very much united in the state.
In an interview with PTI, Venugopal had also exuded confidence that the Congress would win the Rajasthan assembly polls next year and return to power.
A major row erupted last month following Gehlot's comments that Pilot is a 'gaddar' (traitor) and cannot replace him. The remarks drew a sharp response from Pilot who had said it was unbecoming of Gehlot's stature to use that kind of language and that such "mud-slinging" would not help at a time the focus should be on the yatra.
The escalation of the Gehlot-Pilot rift just ahead of the entry of yatra into the desert state had put the party in a spot but Venugopal's visit to the state calmed tempers and in a show of unity both Pilot and Gehlot posed for the cameras along with the AICC general secretary.

Bharat Jodo Yatra enters Rajasthan; Sachin pilot says party fully united to make it historic

"As far as Rahul (Gandhi) ji's Bharat jodo yatra is concerned, there is complete unanimity in the party and we are working together to make it a success," Pilot said.

Dismissing apprehensions that infighting may affect the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Rajasthan, senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Sunday said the party's state unit is "fully united" and focussed on ensuring that the Yatra is even more successful than it has been in other states.
Pilot also slammed the BJP for taking potshots at the Congress over his differences with Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, saying that "sounds rich" coming from the BJP which has at least a dozen claimants for the post of chief minister.
"There is so much disunity in the BJP. They have not even been able to establish themselves as a proper opposition in the last four years in Rajasthan," Pilot told PTI in an interview on a day the Bharat Jodo Yatra enters Rajasthan.

Asked about apprehensions about the yatra's fate in Rajasthan following the events leading up to it with Gehlot attacking him in an interview with NDTV, Pilot dismissed the apprehensions as "stories put out in the media".
"As far as Rahul (Gandhi) ji's Bharat jodo yatra is concerned, there is complete unanimity in the party and we are working together to make it a success," Pilot said.
"So there is no question of individuals &ndash; A, B or C. As a party we have worked hard to form a government and Rahul ji's yatra will only add to the efforts towards the next election in 12 months' time," the former Rajasthan deputy chief minister said.

Amid the deepening Rajasthan political crisis, Gehlot camp MLAs on Sunday late night submitted their resignation to assembly speaker CP Joshi. According to a Press Trust of India report, over 90 MLAs went to Joshi’s home, but the number could not be verified independently. 
The political tussle in Rajasthan erupted when the present Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot decided to contest the internal elections for the party top post and negotiations over who would succeed him as CM began. 
However, there was no word from the Speaker’s office on the resignation letters.
The political crisis unfolded on Sept 25 ahead of the Congress legislature party (CLP) meeting, which was called to decide on Gehlot’s successor. 
Gehlot loyalists have been opposing Sachin Pilot, who was tipped to be Gehlot’s replacement. 
Gehlot's camp MLAs threatened to resign earlier in order to prevent Sachin Pilot from getting the CM's chair. The MLAs reportedly insisted that someone from their ranks be chosen for the top job.
MLAs in Gehlot's camp cited Sachin Pilot's rebellion in 2020 along with 18 MLAs which had put the Congress government in the state at risk. The Congress leadership is believed to have backed Sachin Pilot to potentially succeed Gehlot.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Ajay Maken has said that the situation has been briefed to Congress’ interim chief Sonia Gandhi, who has instructed to conduct one-to-one talks with Rajasthan Congress MLAs. 
If over 90 Congress MLAs resign, the Opposition BJP would be comfortably over the halfway mark, and could stake claim to form government, as per reports.

The political tussle in Rajasthan erupted ahead of the <a href="https://www.editorji.com/india-news/politics/watch-ex-president-rahul-gandhi-s-piece-of-advice-for-the-next-congress-president-1663851583932">Congress</a> legislature party (CLP) meeting which was called to decide on Gehlot&rsquo;s successor, after Rajasthan <a href="https://www.editorji.com/india-news/rajasthan-ashok-gehlot-camp-trying-to-scuttle-sachin-pilot-s-chances-of-becoming-cm-say-reports-1664116814987">CM Ashok Gehlot</a> decided to contest the internal elections for the party top post and negotiations over who would succeed him as CM began.&nbsp;
However, there was no word from the Speaker&rsquo;s office on the resignation letters.
Gehlot loyalists have been opposing Sachin Pilot, who was tipped to be Gehlot&rsquo;s replacement.&nbsp;

Gehlot's camp MLAs threatened to resign earlier in order to prevent <a href="https://www.editorji.com/india-news/rajasthan-gehlot-camp-mlas-threaten-to-quit-sachin-pilot-to-meet-cm-say-reports-congress-crisis-1664120553103">Sachin Pilot</a> from getting the CM's chair. The MLAs reportedly insisted that someone from their ranks be chosen for the top job.
MLAs in Gehlot's camp cited Sachin Pilot's rebellion in 2020 along with 18 MLAs which had put the Congress government in the state at risk. The Congress leadership is believed to have backed Sachin Pilot to potentially succeed Gehlot.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Ajay Maken has said that the situation has been briefed to Congress&rsquo; interim chief <a href="https://www.editorji.com/india-news/2024-general-election-lalu-nitish-to-meet-sonia-gandhi-for-opposition-unity-1663828829928">Sonia Gandhi</a>, who has instructed to conduct one-to-one talks with Rajasthan Congress MLAs.&nbsp;
If over 90 Congress MLAs resign, the Opposition BJP would be comfortably over the halfway mark, and could stake claim to form government, as per reports.

Congress' chief whip in Rajasthan Assembly Mahesh Joshi has said that the party MLAs have no objection to whoever is made the next Chief Minister adding that the high-command's decision should be agreeable to all MLAs. 
"The doubts of the MLAs should be cleared by the high-command and then, whatever decision is taken will be accepted. We do not have any objection if anyone is made the chief minister but the final decision should have consensus," he told reporters in Rajasthan. 
Congress observers Ajay Maken and Mallikarjun Kharge landed in the state on Sunday and met with Gehlot as well as the state Congress chief Govind Singh Dostara at a hotel on Monday. Some Congress MLAs were also spotted at the hotel. 
Joshi himself, along with Shanti Dhariwal and Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, met the AICC observers on Sunday night.
Joshi said that they put three conditions in front of the observes -- a decision on the selection of the chief minister should be taken after the Congress presidential poll, the chief minister should be from among those MLAs who stood with the government during the political crisis in 2020 and not from the Pilot camp, and the AICC observers should hold meetings in groups instead of one-on-one as sought by the high-command.
On the other hand, Congress MLA Giriraj Singh Malinga said after the Gehlot loyalists resigned, the government no longer have a majority in the Assembly. 
He termed a mid-term election as the best way forward.The Pilot loyalists, meanwhile, are maintaining a silence over the developments and refraining to speak much before the media.
One of them, Khiladi Lal Bairwa, however said, "We are with the high-command. Whatever decision is taken will be accepted. This is what we had said on Sunday as well."
Asked what problem does Gehlot have with Pilot, Bairwa said, "He (Gehlot) will be able to say it better.... We are with the high-command in every decision."

Congress senior leader and general secretary Ajay Maken said that he along with Mallikarjun Khadge visited Rajasthan as observers. They will submit a report on the current situation to the high command in Delhi. 
It is indiscipline to call a meeting parallelly when an official meeting is already called, we'll see what actions can be taken, Maken added on the meeting called by MLA Shanti Dhariwal ahead of the Rajasthan CLP meeting.
