Sunny Deol has announced his next film following the massive success of &lsquo;Gadar 2&rsquo;. The actor has collaborated with South director Gopichand Malineni for the next &lsquo;biggest action film of the country&rsquo;, tentatively titled 'SDGM'.
The cast of the film includes Saiyami Kher and Regina Cassandra. The shooting will start on June 22.

On the professional front, Sunny Deol was last seen in 'Gadar 2', the sequel to his 2001 hit 'Gadar' alongside Ameesha Patel. Both films were huge commercial successes.
Currently, he is filming director Rajkumar Santoshi's 'Lahore 1947', produced by Sunny and Aamir Khan's productions, with Preity Zinta playing a vital role. Sunny Deol also has 'Border 2' in the pipeline, expected to be released next year.
After the immense success of 'Veera Simha Reddy', director Gopichand Malineni announced a project with Ravi Teja. Reports of the project being shelved after just a month of its announcement started circulating.
The reasons cited were related to budget issues and the expenses that increased due to the remuneration of the stars and technicians on the team. However, there has been no official confirmation from the team yet.

Multiple media reports have suggested the 'Border 2' team will start shooting from October 2024. "The team behind 'Border 2' has been working tirelessly to prepare everything and it's been a long time in the making as they wanted to do justice to the magnitude of the first film. Now, as the preparations are almost done, the team will begin shooting. As it stands now, the team will begin shooting in October," an India Today report quoted a source as saying.
Touted as India's biggest war film, 'Border 2' will be released almost 29 years after the release of the first part, which was released in 1997. Ayushmann Khurrana has reportedly been roped in to play a key role in the film.&nbsp;

As per a report by Hindustan Times, Sunny Deol will soon be making a OTT debut.

Sunny Deol, who was last seen in &lsquo;Gadar 2&rsquo; is all set for some OTT shows and films as per a report by Hindustan Times.&nbsp;
The report quoted a source saying &ldquo;Sunny has been in talks for OTT shows and films too, and they are ready to offer him big amounts. 'Gadar 2' has infused a new life into his career, and he himself understands that he will need to keep experimenting to stay relevant among a new generation.&rdquo;
The report also quoted Sunny saying, &ldquo;It is going to be interesting because I am doing a couple of films, and those will give me a benchmark of how things are going to be in 2025. All the films I am doing are big screen films. And yes I am also doing stuff for digital platforms. I am picking up more subjects, and there are certain things which I want to do which cannot be for the big screen as they (theatres) will not give me space for it.&rdquo;&nbsp;
He added, &ldquo;As an actor, I feel it&rsquo;s nice it will be seen. If I do loads of it, there will be another audience who will know I am capable of doing that too. Unless I do it, that can&rsquo;t happen. One doesn&rsquo;t want to do only one kind of stuff.&rdquo;&nbsp;

Talking about the scene, Bobby told The Quint, &lsquo;I&rsquo;m not trying to promote anything. Yes, it was required. How do you showcase a character in such a short span, show what this man is capable of, what kind of person he is? All these scenes were required.&rsquo;
Actor Mansi Taxak, who plays Bobby&rsquo;s third wife in the film, also defended the scene and told Zoom Entertainment, &lsquo;It was just that Bobby sir did not expect his brother&rsquo;s death news to come on the wedding, which puts the character into a zone where he couldn&rsquo;t think straight. And that&rsquo;s what we&rsquo;re talking about, right? Animal instincts are unpredictable instincts. So he goes into that zone, and to vent out his emotions, he comes to his wives. I don&rsquo;t think it was intended to be any sort of assault. I didn&rsquo;t feel it on the set, or in the script. That was not the case. It was just a relationship between two people that has panned out the way it did.&rsquo;

Actor Sunny Deol revealed that he is dyslexic in a recent conversation and explained how he rehearses his Hindi dialogues multiple times before filming due to this condition. Sharing that he is dyslexic, Sunny shed light on the challenges he faced in his academic journey. He said, &lsquo;Earlier, we didn&rsquo;t know what it was, and people would think..ki yeh duffer aadmi hai.&rsquo; Sunny shared that he navigates his dyslexia by receiving his dialogues in Hindi, meticulously reading them multiple times to internalise and deliver them in front of the camera. In the interview, Sunny Deol also discussed his acting approach and distanced himself from the trend of extensive character research favoured by some actors. He deemed such research as unnecessary and cited yesteryear actors, including his father, who worked continuously without extensive preparation. Karan shared how he felt as he narrated a scene to Dharmendra Karan, who worked with the veteran actor in &lsquo;Rocky Aur Raani Kii Prem Kahaani&rsquo;, said that he was &ldquo;awkward&rdquo; when he narrated the kissing scene with Shabana Azmi. KJo shared, &ldquo;When I narrated it to him, I was a bit shy and awkward. Because he is such a senior actor. I have so much love and respect for him.&rdquo; The filmmaker said that Dharmendra answered plainly and revealed, &ldquo;I took a beat and he said &lsquo;Toh problem kya hai?&rsquo; (so what is the problem?). He said &lsquo;Maine bahut kia hai&rsquo; (I have done this many times). I said acha theek hai.&rdquo;&nbsp; Karan added, &ldquo;everybody else around it had made a bigger deal out of it than them because they are true artists.&rdquo;&nbsp;

Sunny talked about the blockbuster success of &lsquo;Gadar 2&rsquo;, his comeback movie, and shared that he was &lsquo;hurt&rsquo; by the box office clash with Akshay Kumar starrer &lsquo;OMG 2&rsquo;.
The actor told host Karan Johar that he called Akshay up to request that he move the release date of &lsquo;OMG 2&rsquo;, but Akshay said that it was out of his hands.
&lsquo;I haven&rsquo;t had success for donkey's years. I didn&rsquo;t want anybody to come along with it, but you can&rsquo;t stop anybody. So obviously, it does hurt you. A source close to the development told Pinkvilla that Sunny has shown interest in being a part of Nitesh's rendition of Ramayana, but the discussion is still in the early stages.
Pinkvilla quoted a source as saying, &lsquo;Hanuman stands for strength and there&rsquo;s no one better than Sunny Deol in the Indian film industry to justify what Bajrangbali stands for. The actor has shown interest in being a part of Nitesh Tiwari&rsquo;s rendition of Ramayana and is also excited to play the part of Lord Hanuman. However, it&rsquo;s still early stages of discussion.&rsquo;
&lsquo;The Ramayana is just a small part of Lord Hanuman&rsquo;s life, and there are many other facets to the story. Nitesh wants to explore that with a standalone film on Lord Hanuman. Everything needs to fall in place &ndash; from the date of the shoot to the commitment for the franchise spin-offs and the financial structure,&rsquo; the source added.
The adaptation of &lsquo;Ramayana&rsquo; is being co-produced by Nitesh, Madhu Mantena, Namit Malhotra, and Allu Aravind.
According to Pinkvilla, all four co-producers are on board with the idea of not only casting Sunny as Hanuman in the &lsquo;Ramayana&rsquo; trilogy, but also develop a spin-off on his character.
Other cast members
The trilogy already stars Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. It is expected to go on floors in February 2024.

Sunny has never played a mythological character in the past, but the director of his 2001 blockbuster action romance &lsquo;Gadar: Ek Prem Katha&rsquo;, Anil Sharma, recently revealed that the film was in fact inspired by the &lsquo;Ramayana&rsquo;.&nbsp;
At a press conference of the sequel, &lsquo;Gadar 2&rsquo;, in August, Anil said, &lsquo;What was Gadar? The first Gadar was Ramayana. Rama ji goes to Lanka to bring back Sita. I thought this is Ramayana, this won't flop because it resides in the people's hearts. The story of the second was Mahabharata: what if when Abhimanyu is stuck in the Chakravyuh, Arjun himself comes to rescue him? 'Gadar 2,' a sequel to the 2001 hit 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha,' was released on August 11 and stars Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in lead roles.
The film is set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak war and continues the story of Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) and Sakeena (Ameesha Patel), who are now in a happy marriage with their son Charan Jeet Singh, portrayed by Utkarsh Sharma, all grown up.
Charan Jeet's journey to Pakistan sets off a chain of events that leads Tara Singh back to Pakistan to save his son.
The success of 'Gadar 2' has garnered acclaim not only from audiences but also from Bollywood celebrities, including Shah Rukh Khan, Kartik Aaryan, and Akshay Kumar, who have praised the film's remarkable performance.

He was welcomed for the special screening with the high-power dhol beats.&nbsp;
Talking to ANI in London, Sunny Deol said, &lsquo;Gadar was a film which we had done two decades back. And that time also, it was a film that connected with the people and people made it a Gadar and it became one of the highest watched films in our history.&rsquo;&nbsp;
He added, &lsquo;And I was too scared about doing another part of it because that was kind of a complete film and I didn&rsquo;t see how we can go ahead with another film. But during the COVID time the director, Anil Sharma and the writer Shaktimaan came with this idea and suddenly it clicked all of us and we said, okay, let&rsquo;s go develop it...&rsquo;
&lsquo;I have not still planned anything as to what I&rsquo;m going to be doing next, hopefully, because I really want to cherish the moment and I want to take my step properly, one step at a time. Detailing the reason, the Bank in a fresh notice posted on X formerly known as Twitter said, the auction notice was primarily withdrawn due to technical reasons, adding that the actor has approached the bank to settle dues.
The Bank further said the notice was based on a symbolic possession of the property.&nbsp;
As per multiple reports, Deol's property was put on sale to recover dues worth Rs 56 crore.&nbsp;

'I do not want to comment. These are personal matters. Main kuch bhi bolunga, log galat matlab nikalenge,' Deol said.&nbsp;
In a public notice on Sunday, the Bank of Baroda said it would e-auction 'Sunny Villa' in the Juhu area of the city on September 25.
However, in a corrigendum issued on Monday, the bank said the e-auction notice published on August 20 stands withdrawn due to technical reasons.
The Gurdaspur MP, whose latest movie Gadar 2 is a box office success having already grossed over Rs 300 crore since the release last week, has been in default on a Rs 55.99 crore loan from the bank, interest and penalty, since December 2022.
Bank of Baroda said the auction notice was withdrawn after the borrower agreed to settle dues as well as due to certain technical reasons.
Explaining the technical reasons, the second largest public sector lender said the total dues did not specify the exact quantum of dues to be recovered. Also, the sale notice was based on a symbolic possession of the property as per Rule 8(6) of the Security Interest (Enforcement) Rules 2002.
Bank of Baroda issued a statement on Monday, saying that Deol has offered to settle the dues, hours after it withdrew the public notice to auction the villa owned by the actor and sitting BJP Member of Parliament, citing technical reasons, a move that was questioned by Congress.

In a post on X, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said, "Yesterday afternoon the nation got to know that Bank of Baroda had put up the Juhu residence of BJP MP Sunny Deol for e-auction since he has not paid up Rs 56 crore owed to the Bank. This morning, in less than 24 hours, the nation has got to know that the Bank of Baroda has withdrawn the auction notice due to 'technical reasons'." "Wonder who triggered these 'technical reasons'?" he said.
The Bank of Baroda on Monday said the process is withdrawn due to technical reasons.
In a public notice on Sunday, the state-owned bank had said it would e-auction 'Sunny Villa' in the Juhu area of the city on September 25.
But in a similar notice on Monday, the Bank of Baroda said the e-auction notice published on August 20 &ldquo;stands withdrawn due to technical reason&rdquo;.
