A teacher allegedly thrashed a 13-year-old boy for talking during the class in a government school in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi.&nbsp;
The boy's eardrum was ruptured due to the assault. It is a condition in which a hole forms in the thin tissue that separates the ear canal from the middle ear. It can lead to hearing loss and make the middle ear vulnerable to infections.
His mother filed a complaint with the police in which she said that her son, Anirudh Tiwari, was talking during his English class on September 11 which infuriated his teacher.&nbsp;
"The teacher, Shiv Lal Jaiswal, started thrashing Anirudh and continued to slap him even after he pleaded that blood was oozing out of his ear. Anirudh was taken to a doctor who found that his eardrum was ruptured," she was quoted as saying by Times of India.
An FIR had been lodged against the teacher under relevant sections and the statements of the principal, teacher and students would be taken soon, said police.

Kerala teacher arrested for allegedly molesting 26 students

The senior teacher was arrested under various provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act on January 12 based on complaints from the district Childline authorities, police said.

Kerala police has arrested a 52-year-old teacher of an aided school in the district for allegedly molesting 26 students since November 2021.
The senior teacher was arrested under various provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act on January 12 based on complaints from the district Childline authorities, police said.
"A student recently narrated the abuse she faced to another teacher of the school. She immediately informed the Childline authorities who later informed us. We got the complaint on January 11," police told PTI.
The official said upon further counselling, more students raised complaints against the senior man.

A school teacher in Madhya Pradesh has been suspended and an inquiry ordered after he allegedly asked a 10-year-old tribal student to take off her dirty uniform in front of other students, an official said on Sunday.
A picture of the incident, which took place in Bara Kala village of Shahdol district on Friday, surfaced on social media in which the Class 5 student was seen only in her undergarments and the teacher, Shrawan Kumar Tripathi, was seen washing her clothes and other girls standing nearby.
The student had to sit in that condition for about two hours till her clothes dried, some villagers claimed.
After the incident, Tripathi, posted as a teacher at a government primary school run by the tribal affairs department in the village, shared pictures of the incident on a WhatsApp group of the department, while terming himself as “Swachhata Mitra” (cleanliness volunteer), an official said.
The villagers expressed anger after pictures of the incident surfaced on social media.
When contacted, MP Tribal Welfare Department's assistant commissioner Anand Rai Sinha told PTI that after he came to know about pictures of the incident, Tripathi was suspended on Saturday.
After seeing the girl's soiled uniform, the teacher allegedly asked her to take it off and washed it in front of other students, the official said.
Sinha said he has also ordered an inquiry into the incident.

The students of Gaurdah Narayanpur Akshaya Vidyamandir said their teachers were suddenly transferred and now they are left will only 3 teachers who can take classes at the higher secondary level. 
The students also said that there would not have been a problem if the administration had chosen to transfer a teacher each from other schools in the district as well but transferring 5 teachers from their school will hamper their studies. 
The protest comes on a day when Bengal's education minister Bratya Basu announced that  government will take stock of state-run schools that have closed down and arrive at a mechanism to revive them. 
Certain guidelines will be framed based on the teacher-student ratio of those schools before their closure and the population density of the areas where they are located, the minister said.

The Delhi High Court on Friday quashed an FIR registered against a government school teacher for carrying a live cartridge to IGI airport after he apprised the court that the cartridge recovered from him dated back to his school days when he found it on a road in Uttarakhand
The court said that the present case was a “fit case for quashing of FIR” as “it is due to a mere oversight that the live ammunition remained in his bag and he was not carrying the same intentionally.”
It however added that useful police time was consumed and misdirected and therefore the directed the teacher to take extra classes for weak students in his school for a month.
Post the cartridge recovery, an FIR was registered at police station IGI airport under section 25 of Arms Act 1959. It has now been withdrawn
“Since the police machinery has been put in motion on account of the acts of commission & omission and could have been saved had the petitioner been more careful and vigilant. Useful time of police has now been consumed, which could have been better utilized for important matters, but has been misdirected towards these petty matters, therefore, the petitioner must do some social good for the society,” the court said.

One of the teachers claimed that there are not enough classrooms in the school. To make matters worse, an Urdu primary school was relocated to the premises by the education department in 2017, according to the staff.
Kumari Priyanka, an assistant teacher, said, "In 2017, Urdu Primary School was relocated here. Our school has a shortage of classrooms. But that school has also been provided space, because it was an order. They have been given a room. In the same room, classes 1 to 5 are taught. There are 3 teachers. They divide the blackboard into 2 parts to teach."
She added, "It causes a lot of problems for students. They find it difficult to study and understand. Lack of adequate space for so many children also leads to high rate of absence of students."
Kameshwar PD Gupta, the district education officer, said, "We'll conduct an investigation. We'll have to see why this is happening. We might provide another room."

A teacher from rural Kenya, Peter Tabichi recently won the 2019 Global Teacher Prize. He has been praised for his achievements in a deprived school with crowded classes and few text books. The award organised by Varkey Foundation, recognises the "exceptional" teacher's commitment to pupils in a remote part of Kenya's Rift Valley. Peter wants students to understand that "science is the way to go" for their future. The teacher is known to give away 80% of his pay to support pupils, at the Keriko Mixed Day Secondary School in Pwani Village, who otherwise could not afford uniforms or books. Brother Peter's generosity has won him a prize worth 1 million dollars.
