While Bengaluru struggled to keep afloat after the first round of torrential rains hit India’s Silicon Valley on August 30, a city doctor is winning praise online for going out of the way to help his patient.  
Doctor Govind Nandkumar, a gastroenterology surgeon at Manipal Hospitals  was supposed to perform a crucial surgery when he got stuck in the city’s infamous traffic, this time caused due to heavy waterlogging and flooding. 
Realising the fact that the delay might deteriorate the condition of his patient who was prepped for the surgery, doctor Nandkumar left his car in the middle of the traffic and ran towards the hospital, that was around 3 kms away from the  Sarjapur-Marathalli stretch where he was stuck. 
Speaking to NDTV, doctor Nandkumar said "I left home well in time for the surgery. Looking at the huge traffic, I decided to leave the car with the driver and ran towards the hospital without thinking twice," 
Doctor Nandkumar’s team that was waiting for him in the operating room sprung into action as soon as he arrived at the hospital. 
Fortunately enough, with doctor Nandkumar’s unusual decision to sprint to the hospital, the procedure was conducted successfully. 
Dr Nandkumar works as Consultant - Gastroenterology at Manipal Hospitals and has successfully performed more than 1000 procedures.

Massive jams were seen near Akshardham Temple in East Delhi and Delhi-Gurgaon border. Other locations where the "chakka jam" protest is being conducted include the Car Bazar at Vikas Marg, Dayaram Chowk and Civil Lines.
The BJP has alleged&nbsp;that the <a href="https://www.editorji.com/entertainment-news/bollywood/multiplex-association-of-india-writes-to-delhi-govt-over-shutting-cinemas-bollywood-backs-1640773414588" target="_blank">Delhi government</a> is opening liquor shops illegally across the city under its new excise policy. Shops are being opened near residential and religious places, the party leaders has claimed.
The Delhi BJP leaders said that the protest will continue until the <a href="https://www.editorji.com/india-news/politics/delhi-bjp-mp-waved-liquor-bottles-in-parliament-here-s-why-1638849797307" target="_blank">new liquor policy</a> is rolled back.
Since the introduction of the new excise policy, the BJP has been protesting against the Kejriwal government in Delhi. Close to 850 liquor shops were supposed to open up as the Delhi government has exited from the liquor business.

Three persons died in a road accident that caused a seven-vehicle-pile-up on Mumbai-Pune Expressway at Khopoli in Raigad district on Monday morning.
According to the police, a truck loaded with poultry, heading towards Mumbai from Pune, lost control and rammed into two other vehicles moving in the same direction near the Borghat area at Khopoli around 6 am.
Two persons travelling in the car and the driver of the poultry truck succumbed to their injuries. However, a few other passengers caught in the pile-up escaped with minor injuries.
The accident resulted in a traffic jam which eased after the vehicles were removed from the road.
