After Kolkata Knight Riders eased to victory against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, match-winning batter Venkatesh Iyer lauded teammates Sunil Narine and Andre Russell for their worthy contributions in the victory.&nbsp; At the post-match press conference, Iyer heaped praises on Narine's batting, 'That's what Sunil Narine is there for. He just goes out there and tries to capitalise on the power play. But in all fairness, in the first innings the ball was stopping quite a fair bit. It was not easy for the batters and we gauged that and assessed the pitch really well.'&nbsp; Narine was adjudged Player of the Match for his notable 47 and 1/40 bowling figures.&nbsp; Iyer also made a mention of Andre Russell, who took two crucial wickets of Cameron Green and Rajat Patidar to keep the game in control.&nbsp; 'It's just that, most of our bowlers get the job done most of the times. But today, when (inaudible) saw that the ball is not spinning much, it is time for (Andre Russell) to bowl his full quota. He delivered, and that is why he's one of the finest T20 players. Whenever the team requires anything of him, he is able to deliver that,' Iyer remarked.

An ambulance had to be called onto the field after Indian all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer suffered a nasty blow during the Duleep Trophy semi-final between West Zone & Central Zone.

West Zone bowler Chintan Gaja's throw hit Venkatesh Iyer flush on the neck after which the left-hander fell to the ground. Iyer thankfully avoided any major injury and returned to bat later.

An ambulance had to be called onto the field after Indian all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer suffered a nasty blow during the Duleep Trophy semi-final between West Zone &amp; Central Zone.
The incident took place at the SNR College Cricket Ground in Tamil Nadu on day 2 of the match. Venkatesh Iyer was hit on the neck by West Zone's Chintan Gaja's wild throw. The all-rounder immediately fell to the ground, clutching his neck and an ambulance had to be called inside the playing area.
But thankfully, the physios were able to get Iyer back on his feet, and after going through all the checks in the dressing room, the KKR all-rounder returned to the crease later. He finished with 14 runs as Central Zone were bowled out for 128 in reply to West Zone's 1st innings total of 257.

It happened just once in last 12 games before Thursday, but KKR achieved one of their most morale boosting win of the IPL when they not just beat but humbled the Mumbai Indians (MI) by 7 wickets. 2 back-to-back thumping wins have now powered the Knights into the top half of the points table at number 4.
Batting first, Mumbai got a decent start as openers took them to 78. But when wickets started to tumble, the defending champions crumbled under the pressure of a slow scoring rate and were restricted to 155/6. KKR openers went berserk from the word go as MI bowlers didn't know what struck them. Shubman Gill though went back for 13, but new sensation Venkatesh Iyer kept attacking and raced to a 25-ball-50. He was dismissed soon after and skipper Eoin Morgan also went back for 7, but&nbsp;Rahul Tripathi took the Knights over the finish line in just 15.1 overs with an unbeaten 74 as KKR registered their 4th win in 9 games. Mumbai on the other hand were handed its 5th loss in 9 games.
