Hours after the 69th National Film Awards ceremony, director Vivek Agnihotri took to social media to share a picture in which the winners posed with President Droupadi Murmu and Anurag Thakur, the Union Minister for Information &amp; Broadcasting.
In the picture were Vivek and his wife, Pallavi Joshi, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, R Madhavan, Waheeda Rahman, SS Rajamouli, Allu Arjun, Kriti Sanon and Shreya Ghoshal, among others. However, he Karan Johar was cropped out from the frame.
He attended the 69th National Film Awards ceremony to accept the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Film on National Integration for &lsquo;The Kashmir Files&rsquo;.
Karan was also at the ceremony to accept the Special Jury Award for &lsquo;Shershaah&rsquo;, a film he had produced.
When Karan accepted his award, a video showed Vivek seemingly rolling his eyes.
Besides the cropped picture, Vivek also shared photos of Pallavi posing with Waheeda, Shreya, Alia and Kriti, and a selfie with Waheeda. Sharing the photo, Vivek wrote, &lsquo;Such talent. Women power. #NationalAwards.&rsquo;
Vivek Agnihotri has publicly expressed his dislike towards Karan Johar&rsquo;s style of films. In August this year, Vivek accused Karan and Shah Rukh Khan of &lsquo;damaging India&rsquo;s cultural fabric&rsquo;.
Speaking with DNA, the filmmaker said, &lsquo;After the advent of Amitabh Bachchan as a superstar &ndash; not the one from Deewar but one from Shehanshah &ndash; the cinema after that never told real stories. Especially Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan&rsquo;s cinema, that has actually damaged the cultural fabric of India in a very disastrous way. So, I felt it was important to tell real, honest stories.&rsquo;

 Referring to the subject of &lsquo;The Kashmir Files Unreported&rsquo;, Vivek tweeted, &lsquo;Indian judiciary stood and stands blind and mute to Kashmiri Hindu Genocide. It failed and still fails to &lsquo;suo moto&rsquo; protect the #RightToLife of Kashmiri Hindus as promised in our constitution.&rsquo;

Actor Shahid Kapoor&rsquo;s film &lsquo;Bloody Daddy&rsquo; released on Jio Cinema on June 9 and it is available for free viewing. Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri is unhappy with this decision of the makers and he has raised a question on the &lsquo;free&rsquo; digital release.
Calling it an &lsquo;insane business model&rsquo;, Vivek said that it is sad that Bollywood is celebrating its own destruction.
Sharing a newspaper ad about &lsquo;Bloody Daddy's OTT release on Twitter, Vivek wrote, &lsquo;Why would anyone show a 200 cr film for free? What&rsquo;s this insane business model? Sad news is that Bollywood is celebrating its own destruction.&rsquo;
In response to his tweet, a user shared an explanation and wrote, &lsquo;This is Jio's business model. They'll give everything free for few/several months to increase the customer base. Later they'll start charging minimal fee to retain the customers. Soon other OTT platforms too will have no option but to charge less to customers and generate revenue thru ads instead. OTT, supposed to be an add free platform, will too turn into TV.&rsquo;
Reacting to the tweet, Vivek asked, &lsquo;So, in a way this ₹200 crore is their advertising cost?&rsquo; &lsquo;Bloody Daddy&rsquo;, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar of &lsquo;Sultan&rsquo; and &lsquo;Ek Tha Tiger&rsquo; fame, is a remake of 2011 French film, &lsquo;Sleepless Night&rsquo;. It also stars Ronit Roy, Sanjay Kapoor, Diana Penty, and Rajeev Khandelwal in pivotal roles.
The movie shows how Sumair faces off against Gurugram's white-collar drug lords, deceitful friends, a ruthless crime boss, murderous narcs, and both corrupt and honest cops - all during one fateful night.

Taking to Twitter, Vivek said that he doesn&rsquo;t wish to be a part of &lsquo;these unethical and anti-cinema awards&rsquo;. Reacting to a tweet about the Filmfare nominations this year, Vivek wrote, &lsquo;I learnt from media that #TheKashmirFiles is nominated in 7 categories for the 68th Filmfare Awards. But I politely refuse to be part of these unethical and anti-cinema awards. Here is why: According to Filmfare, other than the stars, nobody has a face. Nobody matters. That&rsquo;s why, in the sycophant and unethical world of Filmfare, Master Directors like Sanjay Bhansali or Sooraj Barjatya have no faces. Sanjay Bhansali looks like Alia Bhatt, Sooraj like Mr. Bachchan, and Annes Bazmi like Karthik Aryan. It&rsquo;s not that a filmmaker&rsquo;s dignity comes from Filmfare Awards but this humiliating system must end.&rsquo; He added, &lsquo;Therefore, as my protest and dissent against a corrupt, unethical and sycophant establishment of Bollywood, I have decided to not accept such awards. Days after Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid called &lsquo;The Kashmir Files&rsquo; &lsquo;propaganda, vulgar&rsquo; film, director Vivek Agnihotri announced that he will make &lsquo;The Kashmir Files: Unreported&rsquo; to let the people know the 'entire truth'.
In an interview with the news channel AajTak, <a href="https://www.editorji.com/entertainment-news/bollywood/the-vaccine-war-the-kashmir-files-director-vivek-agnihotri-announces-next-film-unveils-poster-1668078555706">Vivek</a> said that he has many stories, anecdotes, truths from which they could have made 10 films instead of one. But they decided to make only one film. He said he has decided that he will bring out the whole truth in his next film, which will be titled &lsquo;The Kashmir Files: Unreported&rsquo;. The filmmaker added that he is now determined to release the film this year.

In a detailed press statement, Pallavi said that for decades the international community remained silent on the sufferings of the Kashmiri Pandit Community and after 3 decades, the Indian film industry finally realised that it needs to tell India's story truthfully and objectively.
Pallavi added that it is very unfortunate that a creative platform was used for a political agenda to preserve an old, false, and jaded narrative about Kashmir. She said they are overwhelmed by the way the people of India rose to defend &lsquo;The Kashmir Files&rsquo; against the rude and vulgar statements of a genocide denier.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the International Film Festival of India, Nadav said, &lsquo;I would like to thank the head of the festival and the director of the programming for the cinematic richness of the programme, for its diversity, for its complexity. It was intense. We saw seven films in the debutant competition, and 15 films in the international competition, the front window of the festival. 14 out of them had cinematic qualities, defaults and evoked vivid discussions.&rsquo;

However, the jury board of the IFFI has distanced itself from its chief. Sudipto Sen, a member of the jury, has tweeted the board&rsquo;s statement, saying the comments were Nadav&rsquo;s opinions and not a collective opinion of the group.
Sudipto wrote, &lsquo;Whatever has been said by IFFI 2022 Jury Chairman Mr. Nadav Lapid about the film Kashmir Files, from the stage of closing ceremony of 53-rd IFFI was completely his personal opinion. In the official presentation of the Jury Board to the Festival Director and in the official Press Conference, where we 4 juries (the fifth jury had to leave for her personal emergency) were present and interacted with the press, we never mentioned anything about our likes or dislikes. Both were our official collective opinion&rsquo;.
In his note, he added, &lsquo;As juror, we are assigned to judge the technical, aesthetic quality and socio-cultural relevance of a film. Calling Bollywood 'deaf and blind', he asked why they couldn't do this simple Maths and learn.
