41% voters see civil war in US in next 5 years: opinion poll

As much as 41 per cent of potential voters in the United States said they believe that the country may face a new civil war within the next five years, according to a recent opinion poll published by Rasmussen Reports.

Out of these, 16 per cent voters said the scenario is ‘very likely’.

However, 49 per cent of the respondents did not believe a civil war was likely, while another 10 per cent of voters were not sure of the outcome.

Interestingly, 37 per cent of the respondents said a civil war is more likely if President Joe Biden were to be re-elected. Another 25 per cent said the opposite, that the scenario would be more likely Donald Trump were to come back to power.

The poll was carried out on April 21-23 among 1,100 respondents who plan to vote in the upcoming presidential elections in the US this year, scheduled to be held on November 5.
