North Korea has tested a long-range ballistic missile that is reportedly capable of hitting anywhere in the US mainland The Guardian reported quoting officials.

As per reports, the missile covered a 1000 km range and reached an altitude of more than 6000 Km before landing in the east of the Korean Peninsula sea on Monday.

North Korea's Ballistic missile test comes amid the US- South Korea's nuclear deterrence plans.

Japan's parliamentary vice-minister of Defence, Shingo Miyake, said that the missile could have a range of 15,000 km depending on the trajectory and the size of the warhead. He added that the missile have the entire US in the hitting range.

He further said that by the trajectory of the missile, it looked like an Intercontinental ballistic missile (IBM), however, the authorities have to investigate it to confirm the nature of the missile.

Condemning the test, Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said that the test fire of the missile is in clear violation of the UN Security Council resolution and poses a threat to the world peace and stability.
