Joe Biden trying to make Imran Khan's govt fall? USA's clarification on Pakistan no-confidence motion

"This is a foreign imported crisis; this is an external conspiracy against Pakistan" - days after this comment by the embattled Prime Minister of Pakistan, the United States of America has clarified that it is not behind any conspiracy against Imran Khan's government.

The US State Department reportedly denied sending any communication to Pakistan regarding the ongoing no-confidence proceedings against Imran Khan in the National Assembly.

On March 30, the Pakistan government had claimed that a diplomatic cable from one of its foreign missions confirmed a foreign conspiracy. Pakistani media outlet Dawn claimed that the government's allegations were based on conversations between Pakistan's then-ambassador to the US Asad Majeed, and US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian affairs Donald Lu.

According to reports, Majeed had been told by the American official that Imran Khan's foreign policy was problematic, especially regarding Russia. The Pakistani PM had visited Russia amid the ongoing Ukraine war. The Pakistani diplomat had also been reportedly warned of serious implication if Imran Khan won the no-trust vote.

Meanwhile, Imran Khan is believed to have lost majority after ally Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQMP) joined the Opposition ranks.
