Taliban foreign minister lists 2 reasons behind Pakistan's move to remove Afghan refugees

Taliban foreign minister said Pakistan was using the refugee situation as a pressure tactic to force his administration to act against TTP and accept the Durand line as a permanent border between the two nations.

Taliban foreign minister lists 2 reasons behind Pakistan's move to remove Afghan refugees

Not all is well between neighbours Afghanistan and Pakistan, with Islamabad forcing out over 1,70,000 Afghan refugees from its soil in recent days.

The ruling Taliban has already rebuked Pakistan over its expulsion of undocumented migrants as thousands of Afghans cross back over the border after Islamabad's deadline expired.

Mullah Muhammad Yaqoob, the Taliban regime's defense minister, chided Pakistan with a proverb in Pashto: "As you sow, so shall you reap."

In a conversation with BBC Pashto service, Taliban foreign minister Amir Khan Muttaqi said that Islamabad was using pressure tactics and wanted them to act against Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, a terror group active in the country's resistive Western frontier.

Muttaqi also said that Pakistan wants Kabul to accept the Durran line as an International border.

In June 2023, the Taliban's Defence Minister Mujahid had said that the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan, called the Durand Line, is merely a 'line'.

The voluntary evacuation has been going on since the government gave an ultimatum to all unregistered foreign nationals to leave Pakistan by November 1 after which action would be taken against them according to law.
