Watch: chess robot breaks finger of 7-year-old opponent during tournament

In what is being called an 'artificial intelligence uprising' on social media, a chess robot broke the finger of its 7-year-old opponent during a tournment in Moscow.

A video being shared online shows the robot taking one of the boy's pieces off the chessboard but when the 7-year-old makes his move the robot grabs his finger.

People then rushed to help the boy who was eventually freed and taken away.

Sergey Lazarev, the President of the Moscow Chess Federation, told Russian news agency Tass that the accident occurred because of the boy's hurried movement.

According to Tass, the boy was able to play the rest of tournament but in a cast.

The incident is reported to have happened on July 19.
