Irrfan Khan’s last film ‘The Song of Scorpions’ to release a day before his third death anniversary

The trailer of ‘The Song of Scorpions’, Irrfan Khan’s last movie, has been unveiled. The film is a ‘story of twisted love, revenge, and the redemptive power of a song’. Nooran, an independent tribal woman, learning the ancient art of healing from her grandmother, falls in love with Aadam, a camel trader in the Rajasthan desert. However, even before they can get to know each other better, Nooran is poisoned by treachery which sets her on a dangerous journey to avenge herself and find her song.

‘The Song of Scorpions’ will release in theatres on April 28, a day before the actor's third death anniversary. Sharing the news on social media, film trade analyst wrote, ‘IRRFAN KHAN’S LAST *HINDI* FILM TO RELEASE ON 28 APRIL… #IrrfanKhan’s swansong #TheSongOfScorpions [#Hindi film] will release in #India on 28 April 2023, as a salute to the great actor who passed away on 29 April 2020.’

The Anup Singh directorial also stars Golshifteh Farahani, Waheeda Rehman, Tillotama Shome, and Shashank Arora among others.

The film had its world premiere at the 70th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland on August 9, 2017. Now, six years later, it will be finally released in India.

Irrfan Khan died on April 29, 2020, following a battle with a rare form of cancer.
