Vijay Deverakonda reacts to #BoycottLiger trend: ‘We will see who will stop us’

Vijay Deverakonda’s ‘Liger’, co-starring Ananya Panday, is all set to release in theatres this Friday (August 25). The actor’s forthcoming film is also the target of the recent boycott trend on social media due to its association with filmmaker Karan Johar. In a recent interview, Vijay opened up on whether the cancel culture affects the film. He said that films and actors are the ones to bear the brunt. He also stated that he is sure that people will like him and ‘Liger’ because they made the film with a lot of love and hard work.

The actor said that they expect a bit of drama with ‘Liger’ but they will fight. He added that there is no room for fear as he has his mother’s blessings, people’s love, God’s support and a fire inside him.

‘With Liger we expected a bit of drama...but we'll fight. We've put our heart into making this film. And I believe that I am correct. I feel that there is no room for fear, when I had nothing, I didn't fear, and now after having achieved something, I don't think there needs to be any fear even now. Maa ka aashirwaad hai, Logon ka pyaar hai, Bhagwaan ka haath hai, andar aag hai, Kaun rokenge dekh lenge (We have mother's blessings, people's love, God's support, a fire inside us, we will see who will stop us)!,’ he said.

Recently, Aamir Khan-Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ and Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Raksha Bandhan’ faced boycott calls and failed terribly at the box office.
