The box office collection of James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water’ increased rapidly in India in its second weekend. The film has collected ₹300 crore so far.

      James Cameron's ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ continues its successful run at the Indian box office. The sequel to the 2009 blockbuster showed a strong hold over the second week and the film entered the Rs 300 crore club within 10 days of its release.

      According to a report on the trade website Box Office India, ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ collected Rs 21 crore in India on Saturday (December 24) with around 70-75 percent occupancy. It is the highest collection ever for a Hollywood film in the second Saturday in India.

      The film then went on to earn Rs 24-26 crore on Sunday, December 25, bringing the total collection of the film to Rs 300 crore.

      According to trade analyst Ramesh Bala, the movie has crossed $850 million globally. He tweeted ‘#AvatarTheWayOfWater crosses $600 Million Internationally and $250 Million at the North America Box office, $850 Million Total.. (sic).’

      Director James Cameron had quoted that the film would make profits when it reaches $2 billion.

      ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ was released worldwide on December 16. In India, the film was released in five languages - English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. It stars Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Zoe Saldaana, and Kate Winslet and others in lead roles.
