He added that India countered China's attack by using non-lethal weapons like sticks as the soldiers thought they had measure of the Chinese troops.

    Former Army chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane has slammed China for use of clubs and barbed wire during the Galwan clash in 2020. The retired general said that that Chinese army has gone down to the level of hooliganism and street-fighting.

    He added that India countered China's attack by using non-lethal weapons like sticks as the soldiers thought they had measure of the Chinese troops.

    He also said that the reports of Indian soldiers patrolling the border in Eastern Ladakh with sticks are false. He clarified that soldiers carry rifles while patrolling but show immense restraint in tense situations.
