Food storage Tips : The household refrigerator seems an obvious place to store foods, but some vegetables aren't made for colder temperatures. We've rounded up a list of vegetables that you shouldn't refrigerate but rather keep at room temperature instead. Take a look!

    Tomato

Tomatoes love warmth so consider storing them at room temperature or on the kitchen counter in a well-ventilated basket. The cold temperature of the fridge can mess with the deliciousness of its texture.

    Bell pepper

Feel free to treat pepper like a tomato and store it at room temperature. If you choose to keep it in the refrigerator, place it in the lower vegetable storage compartment of the fridge.

    Onion and garlic

Think about how you buy garlic and onions and remember that when you store them. These bulbs benefit from being kept in a dry and dark place. So, store them in a pantry at room temperature.

    Pumpkin

These vegetables of the fall and winter season have a thick peel, so storing them in a refrigerator is unnecessary, it can easily be stored in the pantry. However, peeled pumpkins can be kept in the fridge.

    Cucumber

The storage of cucumbers is often a matter of debate, as it is often stored in the refrigerator. But it can be kept at room temperature in the kitchen as the cold temperature can ruin its colour and flavor.

Apart from these, other vegetables like eggplants, avocado, carrot, potato and fresh herbs should never be refrigerated.
