According to a new study, people who eat breakfast before 8:30 am have lower blood sugar levels and less insulin resistance, which could reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

      A new study suggests that eating breakfast on the early side may reduce your risk for developing type 2 diabetes and lower insulin resistance. The practice could even help you avoid a diabetes related risk factor; being overweight. The study was recently presented at the Endocrine Society's annual meeting.

      For the study, the team analysed data of 10,575 adults from a national survey on health and nutrition to see if there was a pattern between meal timing and the levels of blood sugar and insulin

      The researchers from Northwestern University and the University of Illinois, Chicago, found that people who ate breakfast earlier than 8:30 am had lower blood sugar levels and less insulin resistance than people who ate their first meal later in the day.
