IND vs ENG 2nd T20I: Bowlers shine as India thrash hosts by 49 runs

A spirited bowling effort helped India thrash England by 49 runs in the Edgbaston T20I on Saturday. With the win, India took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Chasing a tricky 171-run target, Bhuvneshwar Kumar got rid of Jason Roy and Jos Buttler early. While Jasprit Bumrah got the wicket of a dangerous Liam Livingstone.

The Three Lions never recovered from the early blows and kept losing wickets at regular intervals in search of big hits. However, Moeen Ali and David Willey tried to steer England's innings but couldn't do that for long as Indian bowlers kept coming hard.

Finally, the hosts were bundled out for 121 runs with 18 balls to spare. Bhuvneshwar was adjudged the Player of the match for his impressive 3 for 15.

Earlier, Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant provided a flying start with a 49-run stand.

But debutant Richard Gleeson rocked the Men In Blue sent Rohit, Kohli and Pant back to the pavilion in quick succession.

With wickets tumbling from the other end, Ravindra Jadeja found his lost touch in the shortest format. His unbeaten 46 lifted India to 170-8 in 20 overs.
