India's active Covid cases fell below 7 lakh on Friday and recoveries surged to nearly 69.5 lakh. Total coronavirus case tally now stands at over 77.6 lakh after a spike of more than 54,000 cases in the last 24 hours, according to the data released by the health ministry on Friday morning. 690 deaths in 24 hours have pushed the fatalities count to over 1 lakh and 17 thousand. While nearly 74,000 more people recovered from the virus in 24 hours, the number of active cases decreased by over 20,000, according to the govt data.
