Belur Math shrine in Bengal closes indefinitely from August 2

With the West Bengal govt extending the lockdown in the state till August 31, Ramkishna Mission authorities have decided to shut the Belur Math temple for an indefinite period starting August 2.

Since the unlock period started, Belur Math was briefly opened from June 15, where devotees were being allowed limited access to the shrine. The Math had been shut since the lockdown was first imposed in March.

West Bengal has reported over 70,000 confirmed Covid-9 cases and over 36,000 deaths.
