The meeting chaired by Dhami and attended by senior officials, including Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, Secretary to CM Shailesh Baghauli and Secretary (housing and energy) R Meenakshi Sundaram was held at the the chief minister's official residence.
Conveying his deep condolences to the families that lost their loved ones in the attack, Dhami said, "My deep condolences to the bereaved families on behalf of the people of Uttarakhand. This cowardly attack is not only an attack on innocent people but also on the culture, peace and values of humanity of our country. " "The attempts by terrorists to disturb Jammu and Kashmir will never succeed. A befitting reply will be given to this misdeed and the culprits will not be spared," he said.
Yoga guru Ramdev also condemned the attack, terming it as the most barbaric incident in the history of independent India targeting Hindus.
Alleging a conspiracy by Pakistan behind it to incite a civil war in the country, Ramdev asserted that the terrorists will not succeed in their intentions.
"Pakistan is behind the terrorist attack and anti-India people are funding the terrorists," he said.
Ramdev demanded demolition of the terror camps in Pakistan and merger of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) with India.
"The Pahalgam terrorist incident is the biggest and most barbaric incident in the history of independent India targeting Hindus. There is a conspiracy behind this incident to incite a civil war. The intention of the terrorists is to create mutual hatred among the people of the country and to cause bloodshed. But they will not succeed in their intentions, "Ramdev said.
"The terrorist camps in Pakistan should be demolished and the PoK should be merged with India soon," he said.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) visited the site of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam on Wednesday to assist the Jammu and Kashmir Police in investigating what is being described as the deadliest assault on civilians in the Valley in nearly two decades.&nbsp;
Led by a Deputy Inspector General (DIG)-rank officer, the NIA team inspected the Baisaran meadow, located around five kilometres from Pahalgam town in Anantnag district, a day after gunmen opened fire on a group of tourists.
According to officials familiar with the matter, &ldquo;the NIA team members will be assisting the Jammu and Kashmir Police in the investigation.&rdquo;
The visit underscores the gravity of the incident, which left 26 tourists dead and over three dozen others injured. The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy outfit of the Pakistan-based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The NIA is expected to play a critical role in the probe, focusing on a detailed examination of the site, collecting forensic evidence, and aiding in identifying those behind the carnage.
The Ministry of Home Affairs is also likely to hand over the case to the central anti-terror agency soon.
In the aftermath of the incident, Union Home Minister Amit Shah flew to Srinagar and expressed his condolences and resolve. &ldquo;With a heavy heart, paid last respects to the deceased of the Pahalgam terror attack. Bharat will not bend to terror. The culprits of this dastardly terror attack will not be spared,&rdquo; Shah said in a post on social media platform 'X'.
Security across the Kashmir Valley has been intensified, with a shutdown called on Wednesday to mourn the victims and denounce the violence.
Authorities said gunshots were heard around 3 pm in the Baisaran valley, following which security forces rushed to the spot.
Terrorists reportedly descended from the surrounding mountains and opened fire on tourists visiting the scenic meadow, often referred to as 'mini Switzerland' for its sweeping green pastures.
Helicopters were deployed to evacuate the injured to safety. The attack comes amid a surge in tourism in the region and just weeks ahead of the annual Amarnath Yatra, which is scheduled to begin on July 3.

The sketches were prepared with the help of survivors, they said.
From the pencil sketches, in black and white, they appear to be young and have beards.

Amidst the ongoing drive to make Punjab a safe and secure state as per the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Counter Intelligence (CI) Amritsar has busted an illegal weapon smuggling module having links extending to the United States with the arrest of its one operative from Ludhiana, said Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav on Tuesday.
The arrested accused has been identified as Gurwinder Singh alias Guri, a native of Pakhowal, Ludhiana and presently residing at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Ludhiana.
Police teams have also recovered five pistols&mdash; including two .45 bore, two .30 bore, and one .32 bore from his possession, besides, impounding a white coloured Hyundai Verna car (PB91N0209), in which the accused was travelling.
DGP Gaurav Yadav said that preliminary investigation has revealed that the arrested accused Gurwinder Guri was acting under the directions of his USA-based handlers identified as Gurlal Singh and Hardeep Singh, who have formed an alliance abroad and are operating transnational weapon smuggling ring using local associates in Punjab, he said.
As per the information, arrested accused Gurwinder Singh is brother-in-law of USA-based Hardeep Singh, who was earlier arrested by STF Ludhiana in drug smuggling case of Sarpanch Gurdeep Singh Rano in 2020.
Thereafter, Hardeep Singh fled away from India to USA in year 2022.
Sharing operation details, DGP Gaurav Yadav said that CI Amritsar received a tip-off indicating that accused Gurwinder Singh was tasked by his handlers to deliver a consignment in Ludhiana. Acting swiftly, the police team from CI Amritsar intercepted and arrested accused Gurwinder Singh near Sham Nagar Phatak Ludhiana, when he was going to deliver the consignment in his Verna car.
The DGP said that the recovered firearms were intended for use in criminal activities across Punjab. Further investigations are on to establish backward and forward linkages in this case to dismantle the entire network, he said, while adding that more arrests are recoveries are likely in this case.
A case FIR No. 21 dated 21.04.2025 has been registered under section 25 of the Arms Act and Section 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Police Station SSOC, Amritsar.

Punjab Horticulture Minister Mr. Mohinder Bhagat chaired a high-level meeting with officials to discuss strategies aimed at boosting the export of fruits and vegetables from the state, expanding the area under horticulture, and increasing farmers&rsquo; income.
The meeting was held at Punjab Kheti Bhawan, Mohali on Tuesday.
Present in the meeting were Secretary Horticulture Mr. Muhammad Tayyab, Director Horticulture Mrs. Shailender Kaur, along with officials from the Airport Authority of India, Punjab Markfed, and Punjab Agri Export Corporation.
Mr. Bhagat stated that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is working vigorously to promote horticulture and uplift the economic condition of farmers. As part of this mission, a pilot project will be launched under which fruit plants will be planted
on 5 acres of each panchayat land in 10 selected villages across the state. He added that the income generated from these panchayat lands will be utilized by the respective village panchayats for local development purposes.

Highlighting the export potential, Mr. Bhagat emphasized that fruits like kinnow, mango, and litchi, as well as vegetables like brinjal and okra from Punjab, are in high demand overseas.

In order to develop robust police infrastructure as per the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav on Tuesday inaugurated slew of developments projects in Faridkot and Moga during his visit to both the districts to review the ongoing &lsquo;Yudh Nashian Virudh&rsquo; anti-drugs campaign. &nbsp; The DGP has inaugurated three projects in Faridkot including state-of-the-art Cyber Crime Police Station, a Conference Hall equipped with hi-tech gadgets and a Briefing hall with seating capacity of 250 persons, while, a futuristic Smart Police Control Room has been inaugurated in Moga district. The DGP was accompanied by Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Faridkot Range Ashwani Kapur.
DGP Gaurav Yadav, while interacting with the media in Faridkot, said that the Cyber Crime Police Station&mdash; equipped with advanced digital forensic tools, has been established to address online financial fraud, identity theft, and cyberbullying. The Faridkot Police has already returned 260 lost mobile phones to owners and reimbursed Rs 90 lakhs to cyber fraud victims, he added.
Appreciating the extra ordinary efforts of the Faridkot Police in making Yudh Nashian Virudh campaign a huge success, the DGP said that Faridkot Police with the support and cooperation of the public has developed a meticulous follow-up system and have arrested over 300 drug peddlers since the launch of the special drive on March 1, 2025. Faridkot is the top district which has registered maximum first information reports (FIRs) following the tips on the Punjab Government&rsquo;s Safe Punjab Anti-Drug Helpline &lsquo;9779100200&rsquo;. &nbsp; He also joined the &lsquo;Bada Khana&rsquo; lunch organised by the Faridkot Police, which provided an opportunity to officers of all ranks to interact with the Head of the Police Force and exchange ideas, thereby strengthening the bond that is essential for effective teamwork in the field.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Farikot Dr Pragya Jain apprised the DGP that under the 'Yudh Nashian Virudh' campaign, Faridkot Police has arrested over 300 drug peddlers after registration of 150 FIRs and recovered 4.7 kg heroin, 3Kg opium, 130 kg poppy husk, Rs 3.83 lakh drug money. Property worth more than Rs 5 crores have been freezed under 68F NDPS giving a considerable blow to drug network in District Faridkot, she added.&nbsp;
The DGP has also engaged with citizens of Faridkot during a public outreach under &ldquo;Yudh Nashian Virudh&rdquo; and solicited their support in fight against drugs.
In Moga, DGP Gaurav Yadav, while inaugurating the Smart Police Control Room, said that this facility is equipped with cutting edge surveillance systems and advanced monitoring technologies which will enhance crime prevention, monitor suspicious activities, and aid in tracing criminal elements effectively.
He said that Moga Police has installed 140 surveillance cameras&mdash; including 107 Bullet cameras and 33 Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras&mdash;in Moga City, Baghapurana, and Dharamkot. These are AI-enabled cameras, which will also monitor inter-district checkpoints, he said.
He also announced to install additional 100 CCTV cameras across Nihal Singh Wala, Baghapurana, and Dharamkot sub-divisions.&nbsp;
The DGP has also interacted with the police officers posted as SHOs and DSPs/SPs in district Moga and reviewed the progress on the Punjab Government&rsquo;s &lsquo;Yudh Nashian Virudh&rsquo; by taking their suggestions for improvements in enforcement and prevention strategies.
SSP Moga Ajay Gandhi, while thanking the DGP for announcing the installation of 100 more CCTV cameras in the district, said that these cameras will be installed with focus on drug hotspots and inter-district roads to prevent the street crime and keep vigil around drug smugglers.
Sharing outcomes of Yudh Nashian Virudh campaign, the SSP said that Moga police has arrested 282 drug peddlers after registering 171 FIRs and recovered 6.2 kg heroin, 148 kg poppy husk, 12 lakh intoxicant pills and Rs 3.11 lakh drug money from their possession.
Meanwhile, the DGP also honoured high-performing officials and personnel of Faridkot and Moga Police with DGP Commendation Discs and appreciation letters to encourage and motivate them to perform their duties more effectively.

Punjab Finance Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema on Tuesday announced significant amendments to the Government of Punjab&rsquo;s Child Care Leave (CCL) provisions, providing much-needed flexibility and additional support to parents caring for children with long-term special needs, ensuring they can dedicate time to their well-being without compromising their careers.
Revealing this in a press communiqu&eacute; issued here, the Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that these changes have been designed to address the evolving needs of working parents, particularly those facing unique childcare challenges.
He said previously, the Child Care Leave policy extended only to female government employees with minor children below the age of 18 years. &ldquo;While this initiative provided essential support to working mothers, it did not account for the diverse familial structures and specific challenges faced by single fathers and parents of children with severe disabilities&rdquo;, he added.
The Finance Minister said that recognising these gaps, the Punjab government has introduced two pivotal amendments to the existing CCL provisions.
&ldquo;First, the benefit of Child Care Leave has now been extended to single male parents, including widowers, divorced fathers, and unmarried fathers. Second, the government has relaxed the upper age limit of 18 years for 40 percent disabled children with severe disabilities&rdquo;, he added.
Divulging further, Finance Minister said that this amendment addresses the challenges faced by parents of children diagnosed with conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Chronic Neurological Disorders, Severe and Profound Degrees of Intellectual Disability, Multiple Sclerosis, and Multiple Disabilities, including Deaf-Blindness.
He said that this progressive move also acknowledged the vital role fathers play in childcare and ensures they receive equitable support to balance their professional responsibilities with parental duties.
By offering this leave to single fathers, the government reinforced its stance on gender-inclusive policies that cater to the realities of modern families, said Cheema.
Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema emphasised that these amendments reflect the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government&rsquo;s unwavering commitment to fostering a work culture that prioritises employee well-being and inclusivity.
He said that the revised policy would significantly ease the burden on working parents, particularly those facing extraordinary caregiving responsibilities, and enable them to provide the necessary attention and care to their children without professional repercussions.

At least 26 persons -- mostly tourists -- were killed by terrorists on Tuesday at the Baisaran meadows in Pahalgam in one of the worst terror attacks on civilians in Kashmir in the past many years.
Earlier on Tuesday, Mann had said, "the cowardly terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir is extremely shameful and condemnable".
"Targeting unarmed innocents is an attack on humanity. The whole country is united in this hour of grief, our condolences are with the victim families and we strongly condemn every form of terrorism," Mann had said in a post in Hindi on X.

Uttarakhand Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey directed divisional departments to complete Char Dham Yatra preparations by April 25, stressing traffic, road repair, forest fire prevention, and water supply as key focus areas.

A review meeting addressing the preparations for the upcoming Char Dham Yatra, forest fire prevention, drinking water availability, road improvements, CM helpline services, and other developmental schemes was held on Tuesday at the Vikas Bhawan auditorium in Pauri.&nbsp;
The meeting was chaired by Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, who instructed all divisional departments to complete their preparations by April 25 to ensure the smooth conduct of the Yatra.
Following the meeting, the commissioner personally assessed the quality of ongoing tarring and patchwork on the state highways. Emphasizing the strategic significance of Srinagar during the Yatra, he noted that managing traffic and parking remains a challenge. &ldquo;Srinagar is an important stop in view of the Char Dham Yatra, where proper arrangement of traffic as well as parking is challenging,&rdquo; he said. He directed the district administration to identify Dharamshalas and night shelters in the area that could offer free relief to stranded or helpless travelers.
The commissioner also emphasized the need to maintain functional water points and clean public toilets along the Yatra route. Praising the district administration for their proactive approach, he added, &ldquo;I appreciate the proactive preparations of the district administration regarding the preparations of Chardham Yatra.&rdquo;
Commissioner Pandey instructed the Garhwal District Magistrate to conduct a survey on the condition of rural motor roads and submit a detailed report. While reviewing roadworks, he inspected the quality of asphalting on the Pauri-Devprayag stretch of State Highway-31 and the patchwork near Dwaridhar Gaushala. He asked Public Works Department (PWD) officials to expedite the completion of remaining asphalting work.
On the issue of forest fires, the commissioner underscored the importance of coordination among departments and active public involvement. He lauded the district-level efforts and innovative measures being implemented, including public awareness campaigns and the successful rollout of the Sheetalakhet model in over 30 villages.
To address drinking water shortages during the summer, Pandey instructed Jal Sansthan and Jal Nigam officials to extend pumping hours and arrange for water supply through tankers where necessary. &ldquo;To ensure the availability of drinking water to every villager in summer, increase the time period of pumping and ensure alternative arrangements for water supply through tankers if required,&rdquo; he stated.

India's cine stars, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Allu Arjun, spoke out in unison on Wednesday to express their anguish at the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's tourist hub of Pahalgam that claimed the lives of 26 people.
In an outpouring of grief on social media, many celebrities condemned the targeted killing of innocent tourists in the terror attack on Tuesday.
"Words fail to express the sadness and anger at the treachery and inhumane act of violence that has occurred in Pahalgam. In times like these, one can only turn to God and say a prayer for the families that suffered and express my deepest condolences. May we as a Nation, stand united, strong and get justice against this heinous act," Shah Rukh posted on X.
Salman wrote, "Kashmir, heaven on planet earth turning into hell. Innocent people being targeted, my heart goes out to their families. Ek bhi innocent ko marna puri kainath ko marne ke barabar hai (Killing even one innocent person is equivalent to killing the whole universe)." Alia said the news coming out of Pahalgam was heartbreaking.
"Innocent lives lost. Tourists, families, people who were just...living. Seeking beauty. Seeking peace. And now there's only grief. And the unbearable weight of it. Every time something like this happens, it chips away at our shared humanity. May those souls rest in peace.
"And may those left behind find strength somehow - though I don't know how we even begin to ask that of them," she posted on Instagram.
Priyanka termed the terror attack in Pahalgam as "reprehensible" and said it is difficult to move past from a tragedy like this.
"So many innocent lives were caught in a storm they never asked for. Targeted, right in front of their loved ones... This heinous attack should shake the conscience of humanity. This will haunt us for a long time. To those grieving, displaced, mourning, and living in fear, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I'm so deeply anguished by this," she wrote on Instagram.
Katrina said she was heartbroken by the horrific attack in Pahalgam and sent her condolences to the families of the victims.
"Praying for strength and peace for all the families who have lost loved ones. May justice be served!!!" she said.
Anushka Sharma said the attack on tourists in Pahalgam will never be forgotten.
"Heartbroken to hear about the cold-blooded terror attack on innocent people in Pahalgam, Kashmir. Heartfelt prayers and condolences to their families," the actor said.
Hrithik Roshan said he was "deeply disturbed, disgusted and heartbroken" by the terror attack.

In an X post, "Pushpa 2" star Allu Arjun said he was heartbroken.

Rashmika Mandanna shared a news story on her Instagram page and wrote, "It breaks my heart." Her "Animal" co-star Triptii Dimri said, "Truly heartbreaking... The cruelty..the loss..the fear..it's unbearable... No family should have to go through this.. Praying for those who've lost their loved ones..and those still living in this nightmare." Manoj Bajpayee said cruelty against innocent lives is unacceptable.
"Peace must be protected, not punished. My heart goes out to the victims and their loved ones. Om Shanti #Pahalgam," he wrote.
Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut said terrorists opened fire at unarmed civilians.

Dulquer Salmaan said his heart goes out to the victims of the terrible and cowardly attack.

Actor Sunny Deol said it was high time that ending terrorism became a priority.

Candlelight vigils will be held across the state every evening during the three days, the statement added.
As part of the protest and to pray for the departed souls, a candlelight vigil will be held by Civil Supplies Minister N Manohar at Janasena&rsquo;s Mangalagiri office on Wednesday.
"Terrorism has no place in a civil society. We stand united and resolved in grief," Pawan Kalyan said, calling the attack inhuman and intolerable.
On Friday, human chains will be formed across the state in protest against terrorism, expressing solidarity with the victims and reaffirming Janasena&rsquo;s commitment to peace, the party said.
Andhra Pradesh BJP chief and Rajahmundry MP Daggubati Purandeswari called the attack heartbreaking and inhumane. She extended her condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Steel, B Srinivas Varma, echoed similar sentiments, describing the attack as "cowardly and unacceptable".
He emphasised the need for national unity in the fight against terrorism and the protection of innocent civilians.
Andhra Pradesh Congress chief Y S Sharmila Reddy also condemned the attack, calling it cowardly and painful, especially with Telugu people among the dead.
She urged the Centre to respond with strong action.

In the aftermath of the attack, a team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrived at the site to assist Jammu and Kashmir Police in the investigation. The NIA team, led by a Deputy Inspector General-rank officer, conducted an inspection of the site in Baisaran, which is situated about five kilometers from Pahalgam town.&nbsp;
According to official sources, the NIA team will support the Jammu and Kashmir Police in gathering forensic evidence and identifying those responsible for the attack. The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba terror group, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The NIA's involvement underscores the gravity of the situation, as the terror attack is being regarded as one of the deadliest assaults on civilians in the region in nearly two decades.
