No fans will be allowed at venues during the Tokyo Olympics

The decision has been made and the Japanese government won't allow any spectators in the stands during the Tokyo Olympics. The decision was announced by Tokyo Olympics Minister Tamayo Marukawa on Thursday hours after the arrival of the International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach who came to Japan to oversee the final preparations for the Summer Games. The decision was made after the Japanese Government announced a 4th state of emergency to be imposed on Tokyo and its suburbs due to another surge in Covid-19 cases and the administration doesn't want the Olympics to start a new wave of infections. Earlier it was decided that 10,000 or 50% fans will be allowed in stands but that changed quickly as Japan has only managed to vaccinate 15% of their population for Covid-19.
