Samsung has unveiled a slate of new products at its Galaxy Unpacked event.
The biggest announcements were the new company’s new foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Both phones are powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset, and come with up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB of storage. They also both get IPX8 water resistance.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 features a 6.2-inch 120Hz AMOLED cover display with an 832 x 2268 resolution, and a 7.6-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED internal display. Both displays have HDR10+ support. For optics, there’s a 12MP triple camera setup at the back. Samsung has implemented an under-display front camera for the internal screen, with a 4MP sensor. The cover screen also has a 10MP selfie camera. Samsung has provided a 4,400mAh battery with 25W fast charging. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 also gets S-Pen support, with a new S-Pen with a rubber tip specially designed for the internal screen.
The Galaxy Z Flip 3, meanwhile, features a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED primary display with HDR10+ support, and a 1.9-inch AMOLED display on the lid with a 512x260 resolution. For optics, it features a 12MP dual rear camera setup, and a 10MP selfie camera. Samsung has packed in a 3,300mAh battery with 15W fast charging.
In the US, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is priced starting at around ₹1,33,000 for the 12GB + 256GB variant, while the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is priced starting around ₹74,000 for the the 8GB + 128GB variant.
Samsung also unveiled the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. Both smartwatches are powered by the 5nm Exynos W920 chipset, paired with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. They run the new Wear OS jointly developed by Samsung and Google, with the One UI Watch interface on top. They’re also 5ATM water resistant, and IP68 certified for dust and water resistance.
The Galaxy Watch 4 offers a 1.19-inch display with 40mm and 44mm dial sizes, while the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic offers a 1.36-inch display and 42mm and 46mm dials. The Galaxy Watch 4 offers a 247mAh battery, while the Watch 4 Classic comes with a 361mAh battery.
Both Galaxy Watches are equipped with sensors to monitor blood pressure, heart rate, blood oxygen, and body composition.
In the US, the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic is priced starting at around ₹26,000, while the Galaxy Watch 4 prices start at around ₹18,600.
Finally, the Galaxy Buds 2 TWS earbuds were also revealed. The earbuds feature active noise cancellation, and offers 5 hours of battery life on the buds, or up to 20 hours with the charging case with ANC on. The Galaxy Buds 2 are priced at around ₹11,100 in the US.
