Tamil Nadu: kin lock unwell septuagenarian in freezer to die, rescued

A critically ill 74-year-old man was rescued from a freezer box on Tuesday after he was allegedly made to lie in it overnight by his family who were waiting for him to die. The incident happened in Tamil Nadu's Salem district. The cold and shivering old man was found by an executive agent who had come to take back the freezer box which had been hired by the 74-year-old's brother. The executive then raised an alarm and arranged for the old man to be pulled out. The septuagenarian, identified as Balasubramania Kumar has been admitted to the hospital. According to the police, Kumar had recently been discharged in the critical condition by the hospital but his brother put him in a freezer box allegedly waiting for him to die.
