Where we&rsquo;re going to go, we don&rsquo;t know. (It depends) on each person&rsquo;s own imagination and beliefs.&rdquo;&nbsp;
He added, &ldquo;When I had suicidal thoughts when I was young, my mother used to say, &lsquo;When you live for others, you won&rsquo;t get these thoughts&rsquo;. That&rsquo;s one of the most beautiful advice I got from my mother. When you live for others, and you&rsquo;re not selfish, there&rsquo;s a meaning to your life. I took it very seriously, whether you&rsquo;re composing for somebody, writing for something, buying food for a person who can&rsquo;t afford it, or you just smile at someone, these are the things that keep us going."
Rahman said that he is inspired by other people and that he believes he can contribute to society not only through his music but also by mentoring the younger generation.&nbsp; &nbsp;

ASI reportedly filed a complaint against Rahman, alleging that although he had received Rs 29 lakh from the association for performing at its 78th annual conference in 2018, he failed to organise the concert and never returned the money.
Rahman has denied all allegations and demanded that the association withdraw the complaint against him within three days. He has also asked the association to issue a public apology and pay the compensation within 15 days.
In a four-page reply via his lawyer, Rahman stated he never entered into any contractual obligation with the association.
&lsquo;The amount claimed was never paid to me, but to a third party Senthilvelan and a group of companies of Senthilvelan. Knowing fully that the association has no money transaction with me, they have chosen to drag me into the controversy,&rsquo; TOI quoted Rahman as saying.
Meanwhile, AR Rahman&rsquo;s Marakkuma Nenjam concert in Chennai made headlines last month as thousands of fans, who arrived to watch the event, were stranded outside the venue.
Many fans, who had spent substantial sums on tickets, were unable to access the venue due to the excessive crowd size, sparking suspicions of ticket overselling.
The concert&rsquo;s organisers, ACTC Events, tendered an unconditional apology to all those who faced hardships.
Tamil Nadu Director General of Police Shankar Jiwal directed the Tambaram City Police Commissioner to conduct a detailed inquiry into the incident. The DGP asked the Commissioner to look into the reasons for the overcrowding and traffic congestion, and also into the overall arrangements made in connection with the event by the organisers. He also asked the Commissioner to take measures to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future.

Fans have slammed Rahman for being tone-deaf and proud of a mismanaged concert.

Days after AR Rahman&rsquo;s Chennai concert drew criticism for poor management, the event organiser, ACTC Events issued an apology.
Hemanth Raja, the CEO of the company, took to Instagram and shared a video urging people to not blame AR Rahman as he took responsibility for the incident.
Tickets for the concert were allegedly oversold which led to a stampede-like situation at the venue. Several women also claimed they were sexually harassed.
The CEO of the event organiser said in the clip, &lsquo;Our goal was to guarantee an unforgettable night of Rahman sir&rsquo;s songs for his fans. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, many couldn&rsquo;t access the venue. We accept full responsibility for this and are accountable.&rsquo;
He added that AR Rahman had no role in the incident. &lsquo;He is not one to blame. It's completely our mistake. Don't spread negativity about him. He did his job one hundred per cent and the majority were enjoyed, but we failed. We take full responsibility,&rsquo; he said.
He also claimed that they didn't oversell tickets and added that the incident happened due to ticket duplication and overcrowding. He also said that the company would be providing refunds to those who bought tickets but couldn&rsquo;t attend the show and urged them to get in touch with them with all details.
His post read, &lsquo;We are with you.&rsquo;
The incident happened when AR Rahman performed at Marakuma Nenjam concert at Adityaram Palace in Chennai's Paniyur on September 10.

When asked whether AI and technology will replace musicians, Rahman said, &lsquo;When I first bought a computer in 1984, everyone got scared. &lsquo;Ayyayo, this boy is bringing in some small thing&hellip; he will not call us for work.&rsquo; But I started using it, and Raja sir reached out. We collaborated for Punnagai Mannan, that was our first collaboration. We programmed music for it. The human work gets better. I brought in an instrument from Singapore, which could even produce strings. But the work for string musicians went high after that because&hellip; if the instrument can produce this good music, imagine what real musicians can do with the same composition.&rsquo;

ARR Film Festival will be held by PVR Cinemas in Chennai and Coimbatore from August 4 to August 9.

Music maestro AR Rahman, who was launched by filmmaker Mani Ratnam in 1992 with the film &lsquo;Roja&rsquo;, has been a part of the entertainment industry for 30 years. The legend, also known as 'Mozart of Madra', has been a fan favourite for decades and to celebrate this milestone, ARR Film Festival will be held by PVR Cinemas.
The festival is being held in Chennai and Coimbatore from August 4 to August 9.
AR Rahman shared the details of the ARR Film Festival on Twitter. He wrote, &lsquo;Celebrating 30 years of love! Grateful for the incredible love and support I've received from all of you, near and far. Your kindness and warmth have touched my heart throughout this journey. The cops went on stage and asked the Oscar-winning singer to stop his performance and follow the deadline as per the SC guidelines otherwise legal action would be taken.

A video went viral on social media in which a police officer was seen walking on the stage and asking Rahman, other artists, and organisers to stop the music show.
No case has been registered in this connection, a senior police official said.
The incident has reportedly sparked criticism of the Pune Police's decision to allow the event to take place in an area designated as a silent zone due to the presence of many hospitals in the vicinity. It also caused a huge traffic jam, inconveniencing many people.

Music maestro AR Rahman was honoured at the recent Vikatan Cinema awards. He attended the event along with his wife Saira Banu. During his acceptance speech, Rahman thanked her for her support. The host then invited Saira on stage to say a few words and accept the trophy alongside her husband. This year Two Indian films, one in Tamil and one in Telugu, won Oscar awards which include , 'The Elephant Whisperers' and 'RRR'.

According to AR Rahman, India has been submitting the incorrect movies to the Oscars. He thinks it it is important to put ourselves in the shoes of the 'Westerners'.

Music director AR Rahman believes that India is not sending the right movies to the Oscars. He said that despite being nominated Indian films don't win the award because Indian filmmakers fail see the film from a Westerner's perspective.&nbsp;
&ldquo;I occasionally observe that despite being nominated for an Oscar, our films are unsuccessful. Wrong movies are being nominated for the Oscars from India. And all I can say is DON'T. We must put ourselves in the shoes of others. To understand what is going on, I must put myself in the position of a Westerner. To understand what they are doing, I need to be in their position," he said.&nbsp;
Rahman, an Oscar winner himself, made the remarks in an interview to musician L Subramaniam conducted in January but the video of the conversation has been released now.&nbsp;
AR Rahman &nbsp;was invited to become a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) which hosts the Oscars after his historic win in 2009. The singer-composer is now a regular voter and has been watching the films that qualify and get nominated. &nbsp;

The song has bagged a nomination in the Best Original song category alongside 'This Is A Life' from 'Everything All At Once', 'Applause' from 'Tell It Like A Woman', 'Lift Me Up' from 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever'.
Speaking with the news agency ANI, Rahman said, 'I want Naatu-Naatu to win awards, I wanted them to win the Grammy also because any award for any of us will lift India up and the concentration of our culture will become higher.'
&lsquo;Naatu Naatu&rsquo; has already won quite a few major awards. The song bagged the Golden Globes in the Best Original Song category and the Best Song at the 28th edition of the Critics Choice Awards. 'Naatu Naatu' has been composed by MM Keeravani and its lyrics have been written by Chandrabose.
The 95th Academy Awards will be held on March 12. The award ceremony will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel this year.

He mentioned that during the filming of a song, the chandeliers on the sets, which were suspended by a crane, crashed to the ground and nearly crushed them.
Sharing the pictures of the fallen chandelier, he wrote, &lsquo;I am thankful to the Almighty, my parents, family, well-wishers, and my spiritual teacher that I am safe and alive today. Just three nights ago, I was shooting for a song and I trusted the team to have taken care of the engineering and safety, while I was focusing on performing in front of the camera.&rsquo;
He continued, &lsquo;The whole truss and chandeliers that were suspended from a crane came crashing down while I was right in the middle of the spot. If it were a few inches here and there, a few seconds earlier or later, the whole rig would have fallen on our heads. My team and I are shell-shocked and unable to recover from the trauma.&rsquo;
Rahman also reacted to the accident and wrote, &lsquo;A few days back my son AR Ameen and his styling team escaped a potentially fatal disaster. Miraculously Alhamdulillah (by the Grace of God) there were no injuries after the accident at Film City, Mumbai. As we grow our industry, we need to have a movement towards world-class safety standards on Indian sets and locations. We are all quite shaken and are awaiting the results of the investigation into the incident by the insurance company as well as the production company Goodfellas Studios.&rsquo;

Music composer AR Rahman, who composed music for Rajkumar Santoshi&rsquo;s upcoming film &lsquo;Gandhi Godse: Ek Yudh&rsquo;, opened up on the film that is embroiled in a controversy. The film is facing backlash as many people feel it undermines the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi and dignifies his assassinator Nathuram Godse.
At a promotional event of the film, AR Rahman said, &lsquo;They have not seen the film, they have assumed the trailer is taking sides&hellip; People have stopped trusting filmmakers because filmmakers are taking sides. Unfortunately&hellip; So, he (Santoshi) is the victim.&rsquo;
Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi recently wrote a letter to Mumbai Police asking for additional security for himself and his family after a promotional event of the film was disrupted by a few people who waved black flags and shouted slogans. He said he received threats from some unknown people asking him to halt &lsquo;Gandhi Godse: Ek Yudh&rsquo;s release.
Rajkumar said, &lsquo;Both Gandhi and Godse were fearless people. Godse wasn't afraid of the consequences after killing Gandhi. When I am making a film on these two fearless people, how can I get scared? I don't care about death threats but my close ones insisted I must take precautions as it is a serious threat. So, I had requested Mumbai Police for protection and they have provided me with that. I am thankful to them.&rsquo;
He further cited example of &lsquo;Pathaan&rsquo; and said, &lsquo;We should not pay attention to it and we should rather focus on making a good film&hellip; I don&rsquo;t believe in this trend. If this trend worked, Pathaan would not have received such an opening (in advance booking)&rsquo;.
