Actor Dhanush and director Aishwarya Rajinikanth have filed for divorce at the Chennai family court. The couple announced their separation in January 2022 after 18 years of marriage. They are parents to two sons, Yatra and Linga.

Despite rumours suggesting that the couple is getting back together after what appeared like a rough patch in their marriage, Dhanush and Aishwarya have filed for divorce. As per an India Today report, the star couple filed for divorce at the Chennai family court recently. It added that the duo have filed the petition under Section 13 B- divorce by mutual consent.&nbsp;
<h3>Couple's separation announcement&nbsp;</h3>
In January 2022, Aishwarya and Dhanush announced their decision to part ways on their respective Instagram pages. Their statement read, "18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting. Today we stand at a place where our paths separate. Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better (sic)."

Actor Dhanush landed in trouble after his film&rsquo;s shooting schedule in Tirupati caused a massive traffic jam. The Tamil actor is currently filming for his upcoming movie, dubbed as &lsquo;D51&rsquo;, in town.
The team was filming an outdoor scene in what seemed to be a market area. Due to the shoot and the gathered crowd, police redirected temple-bound devotees, causing inconvenience for locals and upsetting several people.
In the video that is now going viral, Dhanush is seen dressed in rugged clothes, sporting a messy look.
India Today stated that numerous upset devotees complained to local police about the issue. The police intervened to stop the shoot. It's important to note that the makers of Dhanush's film had acquired permission for the shoot.
A source from the film&rsquo;s team told Hindustan Times, &lsquo;Yes, there was a little issue while shooting but Sekhar managed to complete his shoot. It&rsquo;s untrue that the schedule has been cut short by the police.&rsquo;
<h3>Dhanush visits Tirumala</h3>
On January 31, Dhanush visited Tirumala for Lord Venkateshwara's darshan. Adorned in a white traditional pancha set with a red and gold shawl, he greeted fans and reporters after darshan. Accompanied by temple authorities and security, fans sought selfies.
The Tirupati schedule concluded, and the next shooting location for the filmmakers is yet to be revealed.

The actor will be next seen in the periodic film Arun Matheswaran directorial Captian Miller. Madras High Court has dismissed criminal proceedings against actor Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth for allegedly showing banners of the Tamil film &lsquo;Velaiyilla Pattadhari&rsquo; carrying a picture of the lead actor prominently smoking a cigarette.
A private complaint was filed against Dhanush, Aishwarya, and a few others under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply, and Distribution) Act of 2003.
The judge stated that the smoking scenes found on the posters of the 2014 movie would not attract offence under Section 5 of COTPA, which prohibits only producers, suppliers, and distributors of tobacco products from advertising them.
The judge said, &lsquo;A penal statute has to be strictly construed since the consequence of an action taken under the statute will touch upon the life or personal liberty guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution.&rsquo;
The judge added: &lsquo;Courts cannot be swayed by emotions. If the facts do not constitute an offence, the court cannot try to expand the scope of the provision by considering the adverse impact that a tobacco or tobacco product can have on society and particularly the younger generation.&rsquo;
&lsquo;The producers and the distributors in the present case were engaged in movie business and were not engaged in the business of cigarettes or other tobacco products. This vital distinction between what has been stated in the provision and what comes out of the allegations made in the complaint makes all the difference,&rsquo; the judge further said.
&rsquo;In the light of the above discussions, the continuation of the criminal proceedings as against the accused persons will amount to an abuse of process of court, and hence, it requires interference of this court,&rsquo; the judge added and quashed the proceedings.

 The film was announced with a video in which Dhanush speaks as his character from the &lsquo;Raanjhanaa&rsquo;, Shankar. The clip shows Dhanush running in dark alleys with a Molotov cocktail in his hand. At the end of his monologue, he says, &lsquo;Pichli baar toh Kundan tha, maan gaya. Par iss baar Shankar ko kaise rokoge? (Last time it was Kundan, he agreed. But how will you stop Shankar this time?)&rsquo;
 &lsquo;Tere Ishk Mein&rsquo;s music has been composed by AR Rahman. The film has been written by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav. Himanshu is also the producer of the film. The remaining cast members of the film are yet to be announced.
 After appearing in &lsquo;Raanjhanaa&rsquo;, Dhanush worked in Hindi films like &lsquo;Shamitabh&rsquo; and &lsquo;Atrangi Re&rsquo;. &lsquo;Atrangi Re&rsquo;, co-starring Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan, was directly released on a streaming platform.

After realizing that her pricey jewels were missing, she made a police report last month. 60 sovereigns of gold jewellery, valued at Rs. 3.60 lakh, were reportedly stolen. The theft is being looked into by the Teynampet police.
Aishwaryaa claimed in her complaint that the last time she wore the jewelry was to her sister Soundarya's wedding in 2019. The jewellery was then stored in a locker that was moved three times in 2021. Apparently, her housekeepers were informed of this as well.
Aishwaryaa stated that the keys to her locker remained in her residence in St Mary's Road, Chennai, even when it was moved to her estranged husband Dhanush's CIT Nagar home and then to her house in Poes Garden.
When Aishwaryaa opened the locker and noticed her jewellery was missing, she immediately filed an FIR. She claimed that ever since her marriage to superstar Dhanush, she had been gathering the pieces. According to India Today, items worth nearly 60 sovereigns in gold, including bangles, Navaratnam sets, diamond sets, and antique gold pieces were taken from Rajinikanth's daughter's locker.

The Teynampet Police has opened an investigation and filed a case under section 381 of the IPC.

There are talks of Dhanush and Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth’s reconciliation months after they announced that they wanted to part ways. The speculations about their coming together seem to be true although Dhanush’s father Kasturi Raja has denied to know anything about it. In an interview with Ananda Vikatan, Raja told that he never interfered with his children’s personal life. When he was asked about reconciliation between Dhanush and Aishwaryaa, his answer was, ‘I don’t know.’
He didn’t confirm the truth about the matter. He said, ‘My wife and I can live a good life even without the support of our children. The only expectation we have is for them to be happy. Nothing else. And anything that hampers their happiness is also a problem for us. We are happy when they are happy.’
Dhanush and Aishwaryaa had shared had issued a statement online in January this year, telling they had decided to get separated after 18 years of marriage.  
‘18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well wishers to each other The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting.. Today we stand at a place where our paths separate… Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Actor Dhanush and filmmaker Aishwarya Rajinikanth announced their separation in January earlier this year. However, rumours about their possible reconciliation have been doing the rounds over the last few days. There seems there is little truth to such speculations. Dhanush&rsquo;s father, veteran director Kasthuri Raja, reacted to the rumours during an interview on YouTube channel of Tamil-language weekly magazine Ananda Vikatan.
Kasthuri was questioned reports of Dhanush and Aishwaryaa&rsquo;s alleged patch-up, to which he said that he never interfered with his children&rsquo;s personal life, and he&rsquo;s unaware about reconciliation between Dhanush and Aishwaryaa.

The actor further explained, 'The casting agency in India told me that they have a Hollywood project for me. They said it is a big film. So I said okay. I asked which film, what film? They said it is a big film. So I said alright, and it can’t get bigger than this.'
He said he was really super thrilled to work in 'The Gray Man' and he was looking for an opportunity to explore and learn more.
