In a record-breaking auction a Ganesh laddu was sold for a staggering ₹ 1.87 crore, outpacing last year&rsquo;s price by an impressive ₹ 61 lakh.
According to a report by Deccan Chronicle, this auctioned was held at Bandlaguda Jagir municipal corporation in Hyderabad and has now become the most expensive laddu in Telangana.
Last year, the same laddu fetched ₹ 1.26 crore, but this time, despite the hefty sum. The identity of the buyer has been kept under wraps.
For comparison, in 2022, a laddu from Richmond Villas garnered ₹ 60 lakh in its own auction.&nbsp;

In preparation for the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festival, the Sri Sathya Ganapathy Temple in Bengaluru's JP Nagar has taken up a unique decoration theme this year. The temple, known for its innovative decor during Ganesh Puja festivities, has decorated its premises with currency notes and coins worth an astounding ₹2 crore.
This display features a blend of currency notes ranging from ₹10 to ₹500 denominations. Additionally, the temple utilized coins amounting to ₹70 lakh, making the entire decoration worth ₹2.18 crore in total.
According to Temple Trustee Mohan Raju, this form of decoration was not a spur-of-the-moment decision. "It took three months to prepare it," he told NDTV. Furthermore, he also said that all the currency notes and coins used in the decoration would be returned to the generous donors after the festival concludes.
In previous years, the Sri Sathya Ganapathy Temple has been lauded for its eco-friendly initiatives during Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. These efforts included using environmentally conscious materials like flowers, corn, and raw bananas to adorn the idol of Lord Ganesha.&nbsp;

Actor Priyanka Chopra took to Instagram on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi and shared a glimpse of her daughter Malti playing with her baby Ganesha soft toy. Sharing the adorable pictures, Priyanka wrote, &lsquo;A girl and her Ganpati (heart eyes emoji) Always with us.. wherever we go.. #ganpatibappamorya #ganeshchaturthi.&rsquo;
The first picture shows Malti dressed in a white frock with bangles and a bindi for the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. She is seen playing with a stuffed toy. The other pictures feature Malti and the toy. A picture also shows the toy Ganesha placed beside a Ganpati idol at Priyanka's home.
Reacting to the pictures, a fan wrote, &lsquo;She has grown so much and beautiful just like mama and papa.&rsquo; Another wrote, &lsquo;Awww that&rsquo;s precious&rsquo;.
Priyanka lives in Los Angeles with husband Nick Jonas and Malti. She is currently busy attending Nick Jonas' concerts as the singer-actor has been performing in various cities as part of The Jonas Brothers group.
Priyanka was shooting for the film &lsquo;Heads of State&rsquo; in London but due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, the shoot has been paused.
A few days back, Priyanka celebrated Nick's birthday. Wishing him on Instagram, she wrote, &lsquo;Celebrating you is the greatest joy of my life. Shah Rukh Khan arrived in style with his family to seek blessings of Bappa.
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh were all smiles as they arrived for the bash. The couple was also seen having a brief conversation with Rashmika Mandanna.
Alia Bhatt was a vision to hold in red. She arrived at the event sans Ranbir Kapoor but was accompanied by filmmaker Ayan Mukerji.
Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani exuded charm as they marked their presence at the event.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, her daughter Aaradhya, KL Rahul-Athiya Shetty, Madhuri Dixit and her husband Sriram Nene were among many others who attended the grand bash.

Local retailers across various sectors in Maharashtra are witnessing a significant uptick in business ahead of the 10-day Ganesh Chaturthi festival, which will begin on September 19 and conclude on September 28.&nbsp;
At Kohinoor Electronics in Dadar, footfalls have surged by 25-30% compared to previous weeks, with sales conversion rates as high as 70-80%. Shoppers are flocking to purchase everything from small kitchen appliances to large durable items like televisions, refrigerators, and washing machines, drawn by attractive consumer offers and discounts.
Similarly, neighbouring garment, flower, and general merchandise stores in Dadar market are experiencing a boom in business, with an expected increase of 35-40% during the festival, as reported by Financial Express.
says Nilesh Gupta, director at Vijay Sales says, &ldquo;At a broader level, the Dusshera-Diwali season is expected to be good this year and regional festivals such as Ganesh Chathurthi will feed into this overall festive demand,&rdquo; Gupta says. &ldquo;We are expecting at least a 15-20% year-on-year growth during the festive season this year as consumer sentiment improves,&rdquo;&nbsp;

In the upcoming year, this ten-day celebration is scheduled to take place from September 19th to September 28th.
Dates of Closure in Different Cities
On 18 September, Banks of Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad will observe a&nbsp; holiday, coinciding with the Varasiddhi Vinayaka Vrata.
The main event, Ganesh Chaturthi, falls on 19 September, resulting in bank closures in Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bhubaneswar, Mumbai, Nagpur, and Panaji. This day is also observed as Samvatsari (Chaturthi Paksha).
