Rapper Killer Mike, who won three Grammy awards, was detained at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday. The arrest followed an altercation inside the venue after his joyful moments at the Grammys' Premiere Ceremony. The incident occurred around 4 pm, as captured in a video posted by The Hollywood Reporter.
Police spokesperson Officer Mike Lopez stated that the detention was a result of the altercation. Mike's representative has not responded to requests for comments.
&lsquo;The only thing that limits your age is not being truthful about your age or what you&rsquo;re doing,&rsquo; the 48-year-old Mike said backstage. He won for best rap performance, rap song and rap album.
&lsquo;At 20 years old, I thought it was cool to be a drug dealer,&rsquo; he said.
&lsquo;At 40, I started to live with the regrets and the things I&rsquo;ve done. At 45, I started to rap about it. At 48, I stand here as a man full of empathy and sympathy for the things I&rsquo;ve done,&rsquo; he added.
Killer Mike's Grammy triumph included Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for &lsquo;Scientists &amp; Engineers&rsquo; featuring Andre 3000, Future, and Eryn Allen Kane.
His album &lsquo;Michael&rsquo; secured the Best Rap Album award. It marked a significant moment, with his last Grammy win in 2003 for &lsquo;The Whole World.&rsquo;
Celebrating the sweep, he exclaimed, &lsquo;Sweep! Atlanta, it&rsquo;s a sweep!&rsquo; Killer Mike's impact extends beyond music, resonating as a social-political activist and vocal supporter of causes addressing inequality, race relations, and Senator Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign in 2016.
The Grammy-winner hosted Netflix&rsquo;s &lsquo;Trigger Warning with Killer Mike&rsquo;, a 2019 documentary series about issues that affect the Black community. He also made an emotional plea to calm a protest against police brutality that turned violent in Atlanta.

In a big surprise, Abundance in Millets, a song featuring PM Narendra Modi got a nod at the 2024 Grammy Awards.
It bagged a nomination in the Best Global Music Performance category. It is created by Falu &amp; Gaurav Shah.

Anita was with the Oakland-based group 'The Pointer Sisters' from its formation in 1969 until she was forced to retire due to health reasons in 2015.

Anita Pointer, from the Grammy-winning Pointer Sisters, died at the age of 74 on December 31. Her publicist Rogher Neal announced the news via a statement. He said she passed away while she was with family members at her Beverley Hills home in California. The cause of death was not immediately revealed
&lsquo;While we are deeply saddened by the loss of Anita, we are comforted in knowing she is now with her daughter Jada and her sisters June &amp; Bonnie and at peace. She was the one that kept all of us close and together for so long,&rsquo; her sister Ruth, brothers Aaron and Fritz and granddaughter Roxie McKain Pointer said in the statement.

The group won three Grammy Awards and had 13 US top 20 hit songs between 1973 and 1985, Neal said.
The Pointer Sisters also was the first African American group to perform on the Grand Ole Opry program and the first contemporary act to perform at the San Francisco Opera House, he added.

Jay-Z has earned five nominations this year.

Last month, when the globally respected Oscar awards failed to mention the legendary Lata Mangeshkar and the thespian Dilip Kumar in its ‘In Memoriam’ section, it had upset many all over. This time round, it was none other than Grammy Awards (no less!) which failed to pay tributes to the eternal melody queen Lata Mangeshkar as well as the well-known musician Bhappi Lahiri, who had passed away this year. To everyone’s disappointment, neither of the two names got a mention in the ‘In Memoriam’ segment of the Grammy awards show, which was held at MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada this year.
Seeing the names of the late Lata Mangeshkar and Bhappi Lahiri missing from the list of tributes, netizens all over got really upset and angry. Many even took to the social media and slammed this year’s Grammy awards. While one user commented that ‘Lataji was a bigger star than everyone on that Grammy stage tonight’, there was another who commented that ‘forgetting Lata Mangeshkar was a huge failure by the Grammy award organizers.
The ones whose names were mentioned in this year’s ‘In Memoriam’ section included the late Stephen Sondheim (Broadway composer), Tom Parker, Taylor Hawkins amongst others.

During the Oscar award ceremony last week, Mangeshkar as well as stalwart actor Dilip Kumar had been left out of the 'In Memoriam' segment. Dilip Kumar passed away on July 7, 2021.

Within the past year, Marilyn Manson has been accused of sexual assault by several women and is facing a number of lawsuits  including from his former partner, Evan Rachel Wood. He is nominated for his work on Donda by Kanye West under Album of the Year.  Another repeat nominee is Chris Brown, who is nominated for his work on H.E.R.'s Back of My Mind, Donda, as well as under the Best Christian Music category. Brown has a history of violence against women, including pleading guilty to felony assault after punching and choking his then-girlfriend, Rihanna, in 2009. He was accused of hitting a woman as recently as June of this year, but the charges were later dropped.  Comedian Louis C.K. is also nominated for a 2022 Grammy for Sincerely Louis CK. He was previously accused of sexual misconduct by numerous women, later saying in a statement, “These stories are true.” In the special, he reportedly jokes about the accusations.  There are many more artists who have faced significant controversy over the past year who are also nominated — including Travis Scott, who is currently being sued following multiple deaths and injuries at his Astroworld festival. He is also nominated for his work on Donda.

The K-pop idols have now decided to use their outfits for a noble cause.&nbsp;BTS will auction their Grammy Awards 2021 outfits at the MusiCares Charity Relief Auction hosted by Julien&rsquo;s Auctions. They also performed their hit single in March to help fund raise for&nbsp;MusiCares&nbsp;in a global livestream.
MusiCares is a charity that was established to safeguard the health and well-being of all music people. It offers confidential preventive, recovery, and emergency programs to address financial, medical and personal health issues.&nbsp;
