Apollo Hospitals stated laying the justification of proposed hike&nbsp;the cost of sanitation, consumables, human resources and general inflation are eating into margins. Fortis as well resounded the same concerns as per the report.&nbsp;Fortis Healthcare&nbsp;highlighted that cost of treatment for patients has been stagnant since 2019 despite non-Covid revenues being affected by the Covid pandemic and profitability being hit by rising manpower costs, and other operating costs.&nbsp;
Most hospital chains have not yet returned to pre-pandemic business structures while the pandemic has raised overhead costs exponentially for the institutions.&nbsp;

India on Tuesday reported 28,204 new Covid cases in 24 hours, its lowest in almost five months, with the total tally at 3,19,98,158. 373 deaths were reported&nbsp; over the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative death count to 4,28,628.&nbsp;
