<p>Kangana Ranaut&rsquo;s directorial 'Emergency' has hit a roadblock. The film, which features Ranaut as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, was initially set to release on September 6, 2024. However, it has now been postponed.</p>
<p>Trade analyst Taran Adarsh broke the news on X (formerly Twitter). He wrote, '#BreakingNews...#Emergency postponed... Won't release on 6 Sept 2024. #ZeeStudios #KanganaRanaut.' Neither Kangana nor Zee Studios, have provided a statement regarding the delay. Kangana's production house, Manikarnika Films, has also remained silent.</p>
<p>On August 30, Kangana posted a video on social media addressing rumours about the film&rsquo;s certification status. She said, 'Kayi tarah ki afwahein ud rahi hain ki humari film Emergency ko censor certificate mil gaya hai. It is not true. In fact, humari film clear ho gayi thi lekin uski certification rok li gayi hai kyuki bohot zyada dhamkiya aa rhi hain jaan se maaar dene ki censor waalo ko' (There have been rumors circulating that my film Emergency has been certified by the Censor Board. This is not true. While our film did receive clearance from the CBFC, the certification was delayed due to numerous death threats against members of the censor board).</p>
<p>The controversy began after the film&rsquo;s trailer was released. The Delhi unit of 'Shiromani Akali Dal' sent a legal notice to the CBFC, requesting that the film&rsquo;s release be halted due to the negative portrayal of Sikhs. According to reports, the film board requested additional cuts, to address the concerns of communities.</p>
<p>The Shiromani Akali Dal&rsquo;s legal notice claimed the film could 'incite communal tensions' and 'spread misinformation.'</p>
<p>Kangana Ranaut has expressed frustration over the situation on X. She said, 'There is pressure on us to not show the assassination of Mrs. Gandhi, Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, and the Punjab riots. I don't know what we will show then&hellip; This is unbelievable time for me and I am very sorry for this state of things in this country.'</p>

<p>Kangana said she might take legal action to ensure her film is released on time. 'It&rsquo;s getting too late. I hope the film comes on time. Otherwise, I am determined to fight for it. I am determined to even go to court to protect my film. To save my right as an individual. You can&rsquo;t change history and scare us by threats'. 'We have to show the history. An almost 70-year-old woman was shot 30-35 times in her house&hellip; Someone must have killed her. Now you want to show it&hellip; Because apparently, you think you can hurt someone. But you have to show the history. So how did she die?' Kangana added, 'Some people have wielded their guns and we are not afraid of guns.'</p>

<p>Kangana Ranaut&rsquo;s 'Emergency' has sparked a major controversy, with Sikh organisations, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and the Akal Takht, demanding an immediate ban on the movie.</p>
<p>They say the film attempts to 'character assassinate' them and portrays them negatively.</p>
<p>SGPC chief Harjinder Singh Dhami held a press conference on August 21, expressing strong objections to the film.</p>
<p>He called for an FIR to be filed against Kangana. He further argued that Sikh sentiments have been hurt in the past by similar misrepresentations in films, and this movie is no different. He also accused the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) of being biased, demanding that Sikh representatives should be included on the censor board committee to prevent such incidents in the future.</p>
<p>Gyani Raghbir Singh, head of the Akal Takht, also criticised the film, claiming it deliberately portrays Sikhs as separatists. He said the film disrespects the Sikh community and accused Kangana of intentionally tarnishing their image. He was upset about the portrayal of Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale, who the Akal Takht community considers a martyr. He added that the Sikh community can never forget the events of June 1984 and accused the film of trying to malign Bhindranwale&rsquo;s character.</p>
<p>Gyani Raghbir Singh also pointed out that Kangana Ranaut has previously made statements against Sikhs, but the government has not taken any action against her.</p>

<p>Ranaut was speaking at the trailer launch event of her directorial 'Emergency', in which she stars in the role of former prime minister Indira Gandhi. The film will hit the screens on September 6.</p>
<p>The actor said she regrets not being able to direct her late 'Knock Out' co-star Irrfan Khan, whom she described as "one of my favourite Khans".</p>
<p>"I would love to produce and direct a film on all three Khans. I would also love to show their talented side where they can both act and look good. They can also do something which has a significant (impact) on society.</p>
<p>"They are talented and add a lot of revenue to the industry. We should be eternally grateful to them. They engage with a mass of people who need that kind of engagement," Ranaut told reporters here.</p>
<p>Shah Rukh and Salman have worked together in films such as 'Karan Arjun' and 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', whereas Salman and Aamir have co-starred in "Andaz Apna Apna". The Khan trio is yet to team up for a big screen project.</p>
<p>Ranaut, who had a cameo in Salman's 2011 film 'Ready', said all three Khans have an "artistic side" which has not been explored in many movies.</p>
<p>"I would love to explore that with so many actors. One actor I would always regret not being able to direct is Irrfan Khan Sahib. He is one of my favourite Khans. I would always miss him," she added.</p>
<p>"Emergency" marks Ranaut's first release after being elected an MP on a BJP ticket from Mandi, in her native Himachal Pradesh. She made her directorial debut with 2019's "Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi" where she shared the directing credit with Krish Jagarlamudi.</p>

<p>She disclosed that receiving offers to enter politics wasn't particularly surprising to her, given her family history, as her great-grandfather served as an MLA for at least three terms.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>Speaking with The Himachal Podcast, Kangana revealed, &lsquo;This is not the first time I was approached to join politics, I have received several other offers in the past. Soon after Gangster, I was offered a ticket. My great-grandfather was an MLA for at least three terms. So, when you belong to such a family, and taste some success, the local leaders approach you. It is very common. In fact, my father had received an offer. My sister was offered to join politics after she survived the acid attack. So, it is not a big deal for us to get political offers.&rsquo;&nbsp;<br><br>Kangana added, &lsquo;I was also approached in 2019. If I wasn&rsquo;t interested in this, I didn&rsquo;t really have to go through so much trouble. I am not looking at it as just a break. It&rsquo;s a very difficult place to be in and I am prepared. I think if God has blessed me with this opportunity, then I will surely do it with all my honesty. More than me, the people of Mandi want to have someone who will save them from corrupt people. And for that, they have chosen me. I don&rsquo;t want to let them down.&rsquo;&nbsp;<br><br>She said, 'I am somebody who follows her passion. If you look at me in the film industry, I am an actor, writer, director and producer. And here in my political career, if I have to engage myself with the people here, I will go ahead with it. It is a harsh life, just like doctors, where only troubled people come to see you. When you go to watch a film, you are very relaxed. But, politics isn&rsquo;t like it.' <p>Actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut has taken to her Instagram stories to pen a long note on the recent developments after she was allegedly slapped by a woman constable. While many are defending the cop, Kangana wrote in her note, &ldquo;Every rapist, murderer, or thief always have a strong emotional, physical, psychological or financial reason to commit a crime, no crime ever happens without a reason, yet they are convicted and sentenced to jail.&rdquo; &nbsp;</p>
<p>She went on to question the people backing the accused. &ldquo;If you are aligned with the criminals strong emotional impulse to commit a crime violating all laws of the land. Remember if you are ok with breaking in to someone&rsquo;s intimate zone touching their body and assaulting them then deep down you are ok with rape or murder also because that&rsquo;s also just penetration or stab only what big deal you just need some vague emotional urge, you must look deeper in to your psychological criminal tendencies, its alarming must take up meditation and yoga,&rdquo; she wrote.</p>
<h2>Shabana Azmi, Anupam Kher, Mika and more express support&nbsp;</h2>
<p>Earlier, several celebs including Shabana Azmi came out in support of actor-politician Kangana Ranaut. In a post on X, Azmi wrote, "I have no love lost for Kangana Ranaut. But I can't find myself joining this chorus of celebrating 'the slap'. If security personnel start taking law into their hands, none of us can be safe." Azmi's husband, veteran screenwriter and lyricist Javed Akhtar, has filed a defamation case against Ranaut which is still in court.</p>
<p>Anupam Kher also reacted to the incident and backed Kangana. He said that security officials should not take law into their hands. He slammed the accused and expressed solidarity with Ranaut. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The constable in a viral video was seen angry over Kangana's old statement against the farmers' protest.</p>

<p>Some farmer outfits on Friday threw their weight behind the CISF woman constable who allegedly slapped actor and BJP MP-elect Kangana Ranaut, saying the entire sequence leading to the incident needs to be properly investigated.</p>
<p>Ranaut, in a video message, had on Thursday said she was hit in the face and abused by the constable during security check at the Chandigarh airport, the ugly fracas breaking out two days after she was elected to the Lok Sabha from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh.</p>
<p>The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha were among the prominent outfits which said they stand in support of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) woman constable.</p>
<p>The constable, who appeared to be upset with Ranaut over her stance on the farmers' protests, has been suspended and an investigation has been launched. The CISF, tasked with providing security at airports, had also ordered a court of inquiry into the incident.</p>
<p>SKM (Non-Political) leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal and Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee general secretary Sarwan Singh Pandher said they will meet Punjab's Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav for a proper investigation into the matter.</p>
<p>"We will demand a proper investigation and we will tell him that there should be no injustice with the woman constable," Dallewal said addressing a press conference here with Pandher and some other farmer leaders.</p>
<p>On June 9 in Mohali, an "Insaaf march" to Mohali the senior superintendent of police's office will be taken out "to demand that no injustice be done in this case with the constable", he said. In a video statement titled "Shocking rise in terror and violence in Punjab" posted on X after she landed in Delhi after the incident on Thursday, Ranaut said she was safe and fine.</p>
<p>The constable, Ranaut had said, came towards her from the side. "She hit me in the face and started abusing me. I asked her why she did it and she said she supports the farmer protests." "I am safe but my concern is that terrorism and extremism are increasing in Punjab... How do we handle that?", Ranaut had said.</p>
<p>Another video doing the rounds of social media had shown the agitated constable talking to people presumably after the incident.</p>
<p>"Kangana made a statement (earlier) that farmers were protesting in Delhi because they were paid Rs 100 or Rs 200. At the time, my mother was one of the protesters," she said in the purported video.</p>
<p>The brother of the constable on Thursday said they learnt about the incident through the media. The constable's brother, who is based in Kapurthala, had said his sister has been in service for the past 15 years and had served at many places including Kerala, Chennai and Amritsar.</p>
<p>Dallewal and Pandher said the constable's brother was active in farmer movements and was part of their organisation.</p>
<p>Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher alleged that Ranaut had hurt sentiments with her comments against farmers, elderly women and Punjabis in the past.</p>
<p>Both Dallewal and Pandher lashed out at the actor for stating that terrorism was increasing in Punjab.</p>
<p>Dallewal said from various reports what they have come to know is that there was some argument from Ranaut's side during security check when her purse and mobile-phone was being put for checking.</p>
<p>If this is so, then the constable is not to be blamed, she was doing her duty, he said.</p>
<p>"And everyone knows the previous track record of Ranaut and the kind of language she has used towards farmers. There must have been an argument and the result of which must have led to the incident. All these things need proper investigation," he said.</p>
<p>Taking on Ranaut over her "terrorism" and "extremism" remark, Dallewal said, "In Punjab, communities of all faiths are peacefully co-existing. We demand that a case should be filed and courts should take suo motu cognisance of the wordings used by the BJP MP." "Ranaut is an actor and now even a MP, she should not speak such language. This is condemnable. We demand that action be taken against her," he said.</p>
<p>The two farmer leaders claimed that people including farmers have taught BJP a lesson in the recently held Lok Sabha polls.</p>
<p>"From rural areas, 73 of their candidates lost this time," he claimed.</p>
<p>In Haryana, they could win only five seats, in Uttar Pradesh, they had to face heavy defeat while they also lost heavily in Rajasthan. During farmers agitation, they used tear gas, bullets and people of the country have expressed their anger through the ballot, Dallewal claimed.</p>

<p>According to a Mumbai Police official cited by news agency PTI, investigations revealed that Raveena Tandon's car did not collide with anyone. A video on social media had alleged that Raveena's driver hit a man's mother and that Raveena then assaulted her.</p>
<p>&nbsp;The incident was said to have occurred near the actor's house while the man was walking with his mother, sister, and niece. However, CCTV footage from the area showed that while the women were close to Raveena's car, they were not hit. The video depicted a group accusing Raveena and her driver of assaulting three women.</p>
<p>The incident occurred on Carter Road in Bandra on Saturday night, according to the police. Although no FIR has been filed, a station diary entry has been recorded at the Khar police station, the official stated.</p>
<p>After Raveena exited her vehicle to address the crowd, she was allegedly pushed and struck, he stated. According to the man in the video, the actress appeared to be drunk and began assaulting the woman after getting out of the car.</p>
<p>Following the incident, a group of individuals confronted Raveena and her driver inside a building on Carter Road. The altercation occurred after the driver reversed the car, the official explained. The viral video depicts a woman alleging that Raveena and her driver attacked her, causing her nose to bleed.</p>
<p>Subsequently, both parties visited the Khar police station and provided written statements stating that they had no complaints against each other, the official added.</p>
