Dozens of structures including residential houses were damaged by strong winds and hailstorm.

A woman and her three daughters, aged between two and five, were killed after their 'kutcha' house collapsed in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district, officials said on Sunday.
Moderate to heavy rains lashed several parts of Jammu and Kashmir on March 1 and 2. Dozens of structures including residential houses were also damaged by strong winds and hailstorm in different parts of Jammu region.
In the Reasi incident, Phalla Akhter (30), her daughters Nasima (5), Safeena Kousar (3) and Samreen Kousar (2) lost their lives when their house in Kunderdhan Mohra village in Chassana tehsil collapsed following heavy rains, the officials said.
Two elderly members of the family -- Kalu (60) and his wife Bano Begum (58) -- suffered injuries in the incident and were taken to hospital, they said.
The bodies were retrieved from the debris by rescuers, they added.

With the monsoon landing in Kerala on Thursday, parts of the state received isolated heavy rainfall with yellow alert being issued in nine districts of the state and orange alert in one.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for Kozhikode district for the day.
An orange alert means very heavy rains from 6 cm to 20 cm of rain and a yellow alert means heavy rainfall between 6 and 11 cm.
The onset of monsoon in Kerala was announced earlier in the day by the IMD which said it was delayed by a week.
However, experts are of the view that delays in the onset of monsoon in Kerala is not a matter of concern as it is not the first time and expressed hope that the rains in the next 2-3 weeks would make up for the deficit at the beginning.

The woman was riding back home on a two-wheeler which accidentally came in contact with a live electric pole in Siddapura are, police said on Tuesday.
The witnesses revealed that on reaching the stretch of a road that was waterlogged, the lady's vehicle broke down and she lost balance. As she was trying to regain balance to move ahead, she is said to have touched an electric pole nearby for support and got electrocuted.She was rushed the woman to a hospital, where she reportedly succumbed.
The deceased was working in the admin department of a private school.Meanwhile, the Police is investigating the matter

Several videos shared on the micro-blogging site by residents showed the city's condition. While major roads in the silicon city were inundated, residents struggled to wade through knee-deep waters to reach their destination. &nbsp;
River raft boats were dispatched by the authorities to evacuate stranded residents that were heavily flooded due to incessant rainfall.&nbsp;
Schools and colleges were shut in the city following the rains. There may be no relief for the city as IMD issued a heavy rainfall alert in the city in the next-24 hours.&nbsp;
According to IMD, <a href="https://www.editorji.com/partner/news-minute/protests-in-bengaluru-hyderabad-chennai-kochi-over-bilkis-bano-convicts-release-1661697441104">Bengaluru</a> received 12.8 mm of rainfall on Monday and has recorded 364.2 mm of rainfall in August so far.

WABC-TV reports that the sinkhole appeared after heavy rains pounded the area on Monday.
The National Weather Service says the rain storms caused flash floods, temporarily closed roads and highways, and stranded drivers in areas of New York City, its northern suburbs and northeastern New Jersey.

Amid heavy rains across Maharashtra, a house collapse was reported in Palghar district and boulders fell from a hillock in Thane, according to officials. They added that no casualty was reported so far. 
Civic officials in Thane's Kalyan Town area confirmed that some heavy boulders fell from a hillock but no one was injured.  Thane city, in a span of 24 hours ending on 8:30 AM on Tuesday received 146 mm rainfall, according to regional data.  Low-lying areas in Thane's Kalyan and Bhiwandi also reported flooding leading to evacuation of several people to safer places. 
In Palghar, district adminstration said that a mud house collapsed in Wada taluka on Monday following heavy rains. Occupants of the house were removed once cracks were observed in the house and within minutes, the house collapsed.
The house was constructed last year under a government scheme for the poor, according to the district administration.
 The IMD on Tuesday issued a heavy rainfall alert for Maharashtra over the next four days, following which Chief Minister Eknath Shinde directed the state administration officials to take precautions and ensure there is no loss of life or property.
The Kundalika river in Raigad district, located near Mumbai, has crossed the danger mark, as per an official statement.
Mumbai and some of its neighbouring districts witnessed heavy rains and flooding on Tuesday morning. The IMD has issued an 'orange alert' for south Konkan region and Goa and a 'yellow alert' for north Konkan, north central and south central Maharashtra and Marathwada regions.

Waterlogging that submerged houses and shops was reported in Kochi as heavy rains lashed the state.  IMD, meanwhile has forecasted continued rains until Sunday in Kerala. At least three people were killed in landslides in Dima Hasao district of Assam, an official bulletin said.
According to a bulletin issued by Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) on Saturday night, three persons, including a woman, lost their lives in Haflong revenue circle of Dima Hasao.
The hill district has been ravaged by flash floods and massive landslides at several places, snapping rail and road links from other parts of the state.
ASDMA said that landslides have been reported from New Kunjung, Fiangpui, Moulhoi, Namzeurang, South Bagetar, Mahadev Tilla, Kalibari, North Bagetar, Zion and Lodi Pangmoul villages, where around 80 houses were severely affected.
"Railway line at Jatinga-Harangajao and Mahur-Phaiding was blocked due to landslides. Before reaching Maibang tunnel at Geremlambra village, road is likely to be blocked due to landslides," it added.
The ASDMA further said that nearly 25,000 people are affected by floods across five districts in Assam.
The worst-hit is Cachar with over 21,000 people affected, followed by Karbi Anglong West with nearly 2,000 victims and Dhemaji with more than 600 persons hit by the deluge.
At least 227 people are taking shelter in 10 relief camps and distribution centres set up across two districts.
Nearly 2,200 people were rescued by the Army, paramilitary forces, Fire and Emergency Services, SDRF, civil administration and trained volunteers from Cachar and Hojai districts.
Incidents of massive waterlogging have been reported from various parts of Guwahati.
The ASDMA has issued flood alert for Cachar, Karimganj, Dhemaji, Morigaon and Nagaon districts for the next 12-72 hours.

Isolated rains over Delhi and adjoining areas of Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad have been witnessed in the last 48 hours. The weatherman said a western disturbance over Pakistan and effects of cyclone Vayu are behind the moisture laden winds travelling to north India. Since Monday the temperature was hovering below the normal by several degrees.
