"Delighted at the safe return of NASA's #Crew9 on earth! The crew comprising of India's daughter Sunita Williams and other astronauts have rewritten the history of human endurance and perseverance in Space. Sunita Williams' incredible journey, unwavering dedication, fortitude and fighting spirit will inspire millions across the globe," Singh wrote in a post on X.
Her safe return is a moment of celebration for space enthusiasts and the entire world, he said.
"Her courage and achievements make us all proud. Congratulations and a big thank you to all stakeholders for bringing them back safely on earth," Singh further said in his post.
For Williams and Wilmore, test pilots for Boeing's new Starliner capsule, an eight-day mission stretched to more than nine months as a series of helium leaks and thruster failures deemed their spacecraft unsafe. The spacecraft returned without them in September.
Williams and Wilmore bid farewell to the International Space Station, their home since last June, departing aboard a SpaceX capsule alongside two other astronauts.
The capsule undocked from the space station on Tuesday and splashed down off the Florida coast on Wednesday morning, after clocking 286 days in space. This was Williams' third space flight and she has clocked a cumulative 608 days in space.
A former US Navy captain, Williams, 59, was born to a Gujarati father Deepak Pandya hailing from Jhulasan in Mehsana district and Slovenian mother Ursuline Bonnie Pandya, on September 19, 1965 in Euclid, Ohio.

"We have organised a procession with Sunita Williams' photograph and will perform a 'dhun' (prayer chanting) at the temple. We had been offering prayers and lighting the Akhand Jyot for her safe return.
This Jyot will be offered to Goddess Dola Mata on Wednesday after her return to Earth," said Pandya.
He said villagers are looking forward to inviting Ms Williams to visit Jhulasan.
The villagers' excitement has only grown with the news of her third space mission.
"The atmosphere here is festive, with everyone eagerly anticipating her return. We will definitely invite her to visit Jhulasan in the future. It would be an honour to have her among us in her ancestral village," he added.
Sunita Williams' father, Deepak Pandya, originally hails from Jhulasan, having migrated to the United States in 1957.
Ms Williams, along with astronaut Butch Wilmore, is returning to Earth after spending more than nine months at the ISS.

While Musk voiced concerns over the delay, NASA has maintained that the astronauts were never in danger, confirming that they were healthy and in good spirits.
Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams had launched to the ISS aboard Boeing's Starliner spacecraft in June 2024, initially expected to stay for only 10 days.
However, after a problematic journey and arrival, NASA and Boeing took several weeks to address issues with the spacecraft. Ultimately, it was deemed too risky to return the astronauts aboard the Starliner.
In August 2024, NASA officially requested SpaceX to return the astronauts as part of the Crew-9 mission.
SpaceX, led by Musk, has been running regular ISS crew rotations every six months, and the astronauts were assigned to Crew-9.
To accommodate their return, NASA adjusted the Crew-9 mission, removing two of the four astronauts initially scheduled to fly aboard SpaceX's Dragon capsule in September.
As a result, only an astronaut and cosmonaut were launched on that mission, with Williams and Wilmore slated for their return at the end of the expedition in February 2025.
However, in December, another delay was announced as SpaceX needed more time to prepare the new Dragon spacecraft for the upcoming Crew-10 mission. This meant the Crew-9 mission, including Williams and Wilmore, would not return until late March, after Crew-10 had reached the ISS.
Musk&rsquo;s recent post, however, hinted that the Crew Dragon capsule, named 'Freedom,' might make an early departure from the ISS, potentially bringing the two astronauts back sooner than initially planned.

She revealed, "On Earth, sarcopenia leads to reduced strength, balance, and mobility, increasing the risk of falls and fractures. Osteoporosis causes bones to become fragile and more susceptible to breaks. Together, these conditions can severely impair quality of life and independence."
The doctor explained how without the gravitational forces that provide resistance, muscles weaken rapidly, and bones lose minerals. They lose minerals like calcium, at a much faster rate than on Earth. This results in decreased bone density and muscle strength which poses serious health risks when they are returning to Earth.

Food plays a major role in space missions as they help keep the astronauts fit and active. NASA assures that the food sent on such missions are thoroughly analysed. As per data called Space Food and Nutrition by NASA, diets are designed to supply each crew member with all the recommended dietary allowances of vitamins and minerals necessary to stay in space.
As per the same report, foods flown in space are researched and developed in the Foods Systems Engineering Facility.

NASA astronaut Sunita Williams, along with her eight crew members on the International Space Station (ISS), faces a new challenge. A 'spacebug' named Enterobacter bugandensis, which is multi-drug resistant has been discovered aboard the ISS.&nbsp;
This superbug, which can infect the respiratory system, has evolved and become more potent within the closed environment of the space station. The bacteria have travelled to the ISS as hidden co-passengers over time and have adapted to the unique conditions of space.
Sunita Williams and her colleague, Astronaut Barry Eugene "Butch" Wilmore, arrived at the ISS on June 6, 2024, aboard the new Boeing Starliner spacecraft. They are scheduled to spend over a week at the space station to test the new spacecraft before returning to Earth. The other seven crew members have been living on the ISS for a longer period.&nbsp;
While space debris and micrometeorites are usual concerns at the ISS, the presence of these evolved bugs has become a new worry. According to NASA, thirteen strains of E. bugandensis have been isolated and studied. These strains have mutated and become genetically distinct from their counterparts on Earth, thriving in the ISS environment over time.

Samosas are made of two layers - a crispy outer layer made from all-purpose flour and a savoury filling of boiled potatoes and Indian spices. These snacks are traditionally deep-fried in cooking oil and served with chutney and ketchup.
To store and freeze samosas, cool them to room temperature before storing them in an air-tight container. After your snack cools, store them inside a freezer. It&rsquo;s important to ensure minimal moisture inside the container to prevent the food from spoiling.
