The five-match series is tied 1-1 going into the Boxing Day Test after the drawn affair.
"Very pleased with the way I am batting at the moment. Just a little sore, but I should be fine (before the next game)," Head, who was adjudged the player of the match, said after the game.
The 30-year-old, who has been in red-hot form with 409 runs at an average of 81.80 this series, noticeably struggled to run between the wickets during his brief innings of 17 on day five.
At times, he was seen clutching his groin, raising concerns among the commentators.
Former pacer Brett Lee called the visuals "worrying signs", noting Head&rsquo;s limited movement, while Indian great Ravi Shastri also expressed concern, describing the potential injury as a "body blow" for Australia, given Head's big role in the batting lineup.
Head did not take the field during India's second innings, fuelling further speculation.
The left-hander further reflected on his approach this series, attributing his success to adapting well to challenging conditions and staying composed at the crease.
"Challenging wicket. I had to work through the gears. I had different plans, pleased I could get through those. Good partnership with (Steve) Smith," he said on their centuries, contributing to their 241-run massive stand.
"I just try to sum up the conditions well. What I've done well this series is assess the conditions. Pleased with the tempo I've batted with. Pretty relaxed communication.
"Felt like he was back in his rhythm, and he gives me full freedom and confidence knowing he's going to be there for a long while. I feel like I am playing the situation in front of me," he added.

Travis Head might have taken this year's IPL by storm but Test cricket remains his top priority and till the time he is playing the format, the Australian big-hitter would like to limit his participation in T20 leagues to just two events per year.
Head, who has enjoyed an incredible last 10 months, has been a nemesis for India with centuries in both the World Test Championship and the ODI World Cup finals. Currently, He has blazed to 533 runs for Sunrisers Hyderabad, forging a fabulous opening partnership with uncapped Indian Abhishek Sharma.
Needless to say, he is sought after and asked how he plans to manage the lucrative T20 offers with his commitment to the 'Baggy Green', Head said it's a no-brainer.
"This has been the first year in IPL for me in quite a while (since 2017). I would put all my eggs in Test basket for the moment, I will continue to do that," Head told PTI during an exclusive interview organised by Prime Video ahead of their upcoming docu-series, 'The Test Season 3', featuring the Australian team's tour of England last year.
"After Tests, I will pick formats, and see in which different ways I am available for selection."
T20 events have mushroomed across the world with some like West Indies' Andre Russell and Sunil Narine appearing in multiple events, adding up to more than five a year.
Having had a great run for the 'Orange Army' this season, Head is keen on coming back to IPL next year too.
"At this stage, I would like to be back here in IPL next year. Like I will play Major League Cricket (MLC in USA) this year right after the World T20 but next year might just look a lot different.
"Each year, you prioritise what you can and can't do. Next year, Test cricket is around, we tour the West Indies and probably I will not feature in many other franchises," the 30-year-old was categorical.
"Look, in few years when I am finished with Test cricket, then probably there will be few more opportunities to play a bit more franchise cricket. But at this time, I would try to limit it to a couple of franchise may be, and (focus on) Test cricket."
The last 10 months have been very hectic for Head starting with the WTC final, followed by the Ashes and then the World Cup where he came in during the second half after recovering from a hand injury. Right now, more than two months of IPL will be followed by World T20 in the Americas.
But the southpaw doesn't want to make a big deal about workload management.
"I will be home in a couple of days' time once we are done with IPL. Be home for two-three days and make the trip to the West Indies with family and start all over again.
"Look, we are very fortunate to do what we do and I am not going to do it forever. So try and make the most of it as we can, we are lucky that we are well looked after." He then tried to put things in perspective.
"I know in a few years, I can retire and do nothing, I will have plenty of time to look back and wish I was back on tour, I would like to be in the moment, keep batting through and stay in the moment, enjoying the moment." Cracking the 'India Code' ================ The performance that Head has delivered over the past few months, he believes that the seeds of it were sown early in 2023 when he came with the Test team, a hard-fought series that Australia lost 1-2.
"I think a lot of of that has come from the Test tour last year, spending time here and working on things and also being a bit older, understanding my game and its blueprint and how you want to go about it and being content and my family being around, all those things," he explained.
"In IPL, I have evolved continuously while getting better but I still have some work to do," he seemed confident.
His national team skipper Pat Cummins has been his SRH skipper and he says they have developed a chemistry where both know what to expect of each other.
"We are just close friends and just enjoy each other's company. Not too much game stuff and over time when you build relationships, he now knows how I will go about it (my job)...," he said.
"...if I need anything, I talk to him but he lets me do what I need to in order to perform. He backs me." SRH lost the first qualifier on Tuesday to Kolkata Knight Riders but will have another shot at qualifying for finals in the second qualifier in Chennai on May 24.
Asked if a documentary like the 'The Test Season 3' can be intrusive and possibly catch players when they are at their most vulnerable and want to privately get over a low phase, Head "Every moment has its time and they understand and pick the right moments and it is never in your face. It's not like we go out in change room and there is a camera following us around.
"It's not intrusive in what we are doing and we are all quite used to lot of camera and lot of media," he concluded.
The 'Test Season 3' follows the Australian team's tour of England for the World Test Final against India followed by the Ashes.
Players such as Cummins, Usman Khawaja, Nathan Lyon, and Alex Carey will reflect on key moments of the tour with their families.

Travis Head raised his career graph a few notches up in 2023 but the Australian batter understands that staying at that level is a challenging task, and the first stop for him in that journey is the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Head&rsquo;s hundreds in two of the biggest cricketing occasions last year &ndash; the WTC final and the 50-over World Cup summit clash &ndash; were Australia&rsquo;s guiding force against India.
But the 30-year-old now wants to be at his best-prepared self for the World Cup through the Indian Premier League experience.
&ldquo;I've come a long way as a player. I guess owning a little bit of the style I want to play and the way I have played overseas too, I've been able to tick a few boxes. Now, the pressure is to continue to play the way I am playing,&rdquo; Head told PTI in an interview.
&ldquo;I think in all formats, I need to make sure that I go back to what simplifies everything, which is my technique and my blueprint,&rdquo; he added.
Head showed his adaptive skills while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the ongoing IPL.
Coming in as an opener, Head made 133 runs from five matches while striking at 177, giving SRH early momentum and also underscoring his readiness for a hectic T20 role for his country.
&ldquo;With the World Cup coming around the corner and, hopefully, being involved in that squad and batting at the top of the order&hellip;it gives me good preparation here in the IPL to try and get some runs and have a little bit of form going into the World Cup,&rdquo; noted Head.
But playing a full season of IPL could lead to burnout ahead of the ICC marquee event in June.
Head was aware of it. &ldquo;I think it is important for me to make sure that I'm mentally fresh throughout the IPL and continuing to work on my game, and making sure that I am ready for the World Cup when that time comes. But I am feeling like I am prepared and ready at the moment,&rdquo; he added.
The confidence level inside Head was evident when he smashed a 24-ball 62 in his first IPL match in seven years.
The South Australian said his increased game awareness helped him make an instant impact.
&ldquo;It was nice to get some runs in the first game, and honestly, I didn't really have too many expectations.
It's been a long time between IPLs for me, seven years, but I've learned a lot over that time and am a lot more mature now.
&ldquo;I feel like I understand my game a lot more. So, a lot of different feelings coming back and not trying to be too nervous or worried about results. I am just making sure that the things that I've done over the last few years are going to work and I best prepare myself to play well for the franchise,&rdquo; he said.
However, Head admitted that the presence of Pat Cummins (captain) and Daniel Vettori (head coach) in the SRH dressing room eased him into the new environment.
&ldquo;Definitely having Pat and Dan, who I've worked closely with for Australia in the last few years, has helped me. It's a very relaxed environment.
&ldquo;Soon as I got my contract, I knew that I had the backing from those guys and they&rsquo;ve confidence in my game,&rdquo; he said.
A chat with Head will not be completed with his exploits against India last year with him terming the World Cup final at Ahmedabad the biggest moment in his career.
The left-hander made buccaneering 120-ball 137, propelling the Aussies to a six-wicket victory and their sixth ODI World title.
&ldquo;I think the World Cup final was probably the biggest match of my career, regardless of whether I got runs or not. It was a huge moment. Obviously, I have not played in a World Cup before.
"So, to have all the stuff that happened, making it to a final and then being able to contribute in the final makes it all so much better,&rdquo; he explained.
Head said the foundation for his overwhelming success against India was built during the 2023 Test tour, where he made a couple of 40s at New Delhi and Indore, besides a 90 at Ahmedabad.
&ldquo;The two finals come to mind. But a big Test series (2023) and some T20 games in between&hellip;I feel I drew a lot of my blueprint and confidence from that Test tour in India, which then flowed into the World Test Championship and then especially to the World Cup final.
&ldquo;I was able to draw back on some of the things that worked well on those wickets and it&rsquo;s nice that it has come together in big games for me,&rdquo; Head offered.
Head felt that his confident approach found perfect resonance in the Hyderabad dressing room in the ongoing IPL.
&ldquo;We want to be aggressive and I think we've shown that in the first five games. It suited me as well. I feel, at the moment, we're being really aggressive in the right way and the right moments.
&ldquo;Obviously, Power Play is very important for us and hopefully Abhi (Abhishek Sharma) and I can continue to do what we've been doing in the Power Play,&rdquo; he signed off.

The destruction of <a href="https://www.editorji.com/amp/web-stories/sports/cricket/travis-head-and-david-warner-tumble-records-aus-vs-nz-odi-world-cup-2023-1698478939573">Head (109 off 67 balls) </a>and his opening partner David Warner (81 off 65 balls) during their 175-run alliance upfront gelled well with some late-order biffing as Aussies overcame a middle-order meltdown to post 388 all out, after they were put into bat.
<a href="https://www.editorji.com/amp/web-stories/sports/cricket/aus-vs-nz-rachin-ravindra-new-zealand-batter-scores-2nd-century-in-odi-world-cup-2023-against-australia-1698501672693">Ravindra made a sparkling 116 off 89 balls</a> and James Neesham a manic 39-ball 58 but the Kiwis could only manage 383 to suffer their second successive defeat in the tournament.
The cumulative score of 771 posted by the two teams is a highest aggregate score in a World Cup game surpassing 754 collectively notched up by South Africa (428) and Sri Lanka (326) in New Delhi on October 7, in this very event.
With this win, Australia have eight points from six matches, same as New Zealand, and they are firmly entrenched at No. 4 at this point.
But that position did not come without its moments of scares. Ravindra gave them the biggest of them all with an innings that belied his tender age of 23.
The left-hander does not have a big frame, but what he does have is immense timing that allows him to send the ball miles into the stands when required.
Pat Cummins will vouch for that. Ravindra picked up a length ball outside the off-stump from the pacer to cart it over the covers for a six, and it was a stunner.
His batting is easy on the eyes as well &ndash; good enough back-lift and a flowing follow-through make him a good addition to the elegant left-handers&rsquo; club.
But those technicalities aside, his temperament too should be patted as Ravindra batted without even an iota of pressure against a set of battle-hardened Aussies.
The Wellington lad, who was dropped on 100 by Glenn Maxwell off his own bowling, also pieced together good stands with fellow opener Devon Conway (61), 96 with Darryl Mitchell (54) for the third wicket and 54 with Tom Latham (21) for the fourth wicket.
Ravindra reached his hundred off 77 balls with a fine six off Maxwell over deep mid-wicket. It was his second hundred in this WC after the one in the tournament opener against England at Ahmedabad.
He also joined Kane Williamson, Martin Guptill and Glenn Turner as the only Kiwi batters to have scored two hundreds in the World Cup.
But all that ended when Ravindra gave a catch to Maxwell at deep off Cummins.
Neesham did try his best to take Black Caps home with a breezy fifty but some limb-forgetting fielding by the Aussies on a dodgy HPCA stadium outfield in the last few overs denied Kiwis a remarkable win.
Australia, especially Marnus Labuschagne, were quite exceptional in that phase and they even had to field with five fielders inside the ring in the final over for slow over rate. But they summoned every ounce of experience and athleticism to emerge on the right side of the result.
Earlier, Head, who replaced Cameron Green in the playing 11, and Warner garnered 175 runs in a mere 19.1 overs.
Head was over-aggressive in his partnership with Warner, taking on New Zealand bowlers with disdain, and it was tough to imagine that this was actually his first match of the tournament.
The left-hander replaced Mitchell Marsh, who came in at No. 3, at the pole position and never really made Australia felt the absence of the big-hitting 'Bison'.
Fortune also favoured Head while cruising to his fourth ODI hundred. Head was dropped by Mitchell Santner off his own bowling when the batter was on 70.
Five runs later, Glenn Phillips at covers allowed the ball whizz through his hands as Head tried to clatter spinner Ravindra.
But those blips apart, Head and Warner were super smooth, pulling, cutting and driving at will to make runs around the field.
But the Kiwis bowlers, normally a frugal unit under Trent Boult, could not hit the right lines and their fielders too were butterfingered, dropping five catches.
New Zealand were also not helped by the absence of pacer Lockie Ferguson, who conceded 38 runs in three overs, as he left the field with pain in his right Achilles.
The two left-handers exploited those lapses and slices of fortune to the hilt. In fact, Warner reached his fifty in 28 balls and Head his half-century in 25 balls.
With the openers in overdrive 118 runs cascaded in the first Power Play which contained a total of 10 sixes &ndash; six by Warner and four by Head.
But the breaks came in after Warner&rsquo;s dismissal, caught by spinner Phillips off his own bowling. The spin trio of Phillips, Santner and Ravindra stifled the Australian middle-order.
Phillips cleaned up Head with a quicker one, while Marsh, Steve Smith and Labuschagne also fell to the gang of slow men as the Aussies lost four wickets for 74 runs in that period.
Australia needed some momentum from 274 for five, and Maxwell (41 off 24 balls), Josh Inglis (38 off 28 balls) and captain Cummins (37 off 14 balls) provided that.
Maxwell and Inglis made 62 runs between 44.4 and 47th over which in the end proved the difference.&nbsp;

Although he might miss Australia's fixture against Pakistan on Friday in Bengaluru, Head could feature against the Netherlands on October 25 in Delhi, provided he passes the fitness test.
"It's coming along well, and probably better than we hoped. When we decided not to go with surgery, which would have meant a 10-week recovery, we were told it would be minimum six weeks with the splint before we could look at playing again," Head was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au.
"Going by that plan, the Netherlands game will be just under six weeks from impact, which is a pretty aggressive date, so everything would have to go perfectly from here to make that deadline," he added.
Considering the nature of the injury, Head said he was still ascertaining his ability to field.
"I'm not sure what it will mean for fielding. We haven't explored that yet," said Head.
"There's still a few hurdles we need to clear, and everything needs to fall into place from my end and from the team's point of view over there before the final decision is made," he added.

A fracture in the left hand has ruled out Australian batter Travis Head from the first half of the World Cup in India with his participation in the rest of the tournament also uncertain, leaving the door open for the inclusion of in-form Marnus Labuschagne.
The opener was struck on the left hand by a short delivery from Proteas seamer Gerald Coetzee in the fourth ODI against South Africa last week.
Head coach Andrew McDonald revealed that Head, who will miss the three-match ODI series against India beginning on Friday, doesn't require surgery but the Australian selectors need to deliberate on the risk of "carrying" him in the World Cup squad.
"The timeframe is still a bit loose at the moment but the good news is he doesn't require surgery as it sits at the moment. There will be an extended period of time out and we've just got to weigh up whether that time (out) falls with an option to carry him through the front half of the World Cup," McDonald said.
"There's no doubt he won't be available for the front half, so that's a decision we'll have to make for the final 15. But I can't give you an exact time frame." The World Cup starts on October 5 with the final scheduled for November 19.
Head's injury leaves the door ajar for Labuschagne, who did not make Australia's 15-member provisional squad. However, the Test star put up a tremendous display in the ODIs against South Africa, finishing as the leading run-scorer.
"I can't talk on behalf of the selection panel and lock him away in the World Cup 15 but it's no doubt looking likely," McDonald said.
"He's made a significant shift in his intent at the crease and put the bowlers under pressure (more) than he was potentially 12 months ago. He's struck at around 100 strike rate in this series.
"We know Marnus is a quality player and he probably didn't have the 12-18 months in one-day cricket that he would have liked.
"But he's no doubt taken that opportunity with both hands and there's no doubt he'll be front and centre when it comes to that 15-man squad down the track," he added.
In Head's absence, Mitchell Marsh is likely to be elevated to the opening position.
Australia take on India in Chennai on October 8 in their World Cup opener.
