His total runs of 348 in the season so far may not look that bad but it includes a hundred and a half-century. Just 2 good knocks in 13 innings cannot be justified by any means for a batter of his caliber.
Apart from those 2 knocks, Jaiswal has scored just 171 runs in 11 innings so far at a below-par average of 15.5.
It's a major worry for Team India, considering he is the first-choice opener along with Rohit Sharma for the T20 World Cup that starts right after IPL 2023.
What's even more concerning is that the Indian skipper himself is going through a lean patch has has scored just 52 runs in the last 6 innings.
While Rohit is left with just 1 more game, jaiswal will have a couple of games to strike form as Rajasthan has qualified for the playoffs.

It's been an incredible experience with all my mates And I really enjoyed it." Jaiswal singled out the celebration following his knock of 214 not out in Rajkot as one that he enjoyed the most.

The 22-year-old Jaiswal has been scoring heavily in recent times, including making a magnificent double hundred against England, forcing few former players and fans to compare him with the legends, including Sehwag.
"He is a very good batsman but I think comparisons are too early," Sehwag told PTI Bhasha in a virtual interaction from Dubai on Wednesday.
On the franchise versus country debate, he said that national duty should always be above any league commitment.
"I firmly believe that representing a country should always take precedence over participating in any league. It is essential for players to prioritize national duty above club commitments.
"A prime example of this dedication was evident in the ILT20, where several West Indies players chose to leave the league temporarily to represent their nation in international fixtures in Australia," said the former Cricketer turned commentator.
"While I understand the allure of international leagues for domestic players, I believe their primary focus should remain on excelling in domestic competitions with the ultimate goal of representing India internationally," Sehwag said.
He did not feel the IPL would lead to burnout or fatigue before the T20 World Cup and instead said the league would be a great platform to prepare for the showpiece.
"I am confident that fatigue or burnout will not be a concern for players heading into T20 World Cup. On the contrary I feel that tournaments like IPL or ILT20 will prove instrumental in preparing teams for the global event.
"In IPL, one has to play 14 matches over two months, so there is ample time to maintain form and fitness and fine tune skills ahead of the T20 World Cup," said the former opener.
Amid the mushrooming of T20 and even T10 leagues across the world, does he feel that the quality of cricket has been compromised? He responded in the negative.
"The proliferation of domestic leagues following the success of the Indian Premier League highlights a global trend toward nurturing cricketing talent at home. These leagues play a vital role in enhancing the domestic cricketing ecosystem of each nation," he said.
"Moreover, the involvement of national cricket boards adds a layer of consistency to the leagues, ensuring their longevity and continued growth.
"Each league possesses its unique characteristics, and with the support of national cricketing bodies, they are poised to thrive and contribute significantly to the development of cricket on a global scale," said the former star who has played 104 Tests and 251 ODIs for India, scoring 8586 and 8273 runs respectively.
He also thinks that international cricket and various sanctioned leagues can co exist.
"Certainly, it is commendable to see the ICC allocating specific windows for various cricket leagues. This approach not only allows players from associate nations to gain invaluable exposure and experience but also ensures a well-structured calendar leading up to major events," said Sehwag.
"Currently, we are witnessing the ILT20, followed by the PSL, and then the highly anticipated IPL, all serving as crucial platforms for players to showcase their talent and fine-tune their skills.
"This seamless succession of tournaments culminating in the ICC T20 World Cup provides an ideal pathway for players to prepare and compete at the highest level on the global stage," he said.
One of the most destructive batters of his era, Sehwag feels that Test cricket is the biggest platform for players to express themselves.

Young Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal showcased his batting skills with a career-best unbeaten 179. Speaking after the end of the day's play, the 22-year-old left-hander emphasised he was focused on batting out sessions and capitalizing on loose deliveries.

Commenting on the pitch conditions, Jaiswal noted, "The pitch played a bit differently as in the morning it was a bit damp and then it settled. With the older ball, there was some bounce."

Picked to replace the usually swashbuckling but currently out-of-form Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal made quite a statement with his 34-ball 68 against Afghanistan in the 2nd T20I and the promising youngster said it was all thanks to the "go out and express yourself" brief from the Indian team management.
The 22-year-old's strokeful knock at the top of the order and Shivam Dube's 63 not out off 32 balls, helped India register a six-wicket series-clinching win here on Sunday as the hosts easily chased down the target of 173 with 26 balls to spare.
"I have been told to go and express myself and I was trying to do that," Jaiswal said at the post-match conference on Sunday night.
"I was trying to punish the loose balls and was focused on giving my team a good start...I was trying to bat as deep as I could. I was trying to keep my strike rate good. I wanted to keep batting with a good strike rate," said the 22-year-old opening batter.
Jaiswal, who has played just four Tests and 16 T20Is, said he has tried his best to do well for the team whenever he has got a chance. He had scored a 60 against South Africa in December last year.
"I keep working hard in my practice sessions and on my process. Whenever I get my chance, I try my best and make sure that I am doing things for the team which is important," he said, trying to give an insight into his thought process.
"I am just trying to show my intent and trying to do well for my team," added Jaiswal who hit five fours and six sixes during his innings last night.
Asked what transpired between him and senior batter Virat Kohli in the middle during a 57-run stand, he said, "It was really nice...Whenever I bat with him, it's an honour.
"Lots of things to learn from him, like we had small chats about where we can hit. We decided that it was easy to hit over long on and mid off and we were trying to do that. The intent was there and the positive vibes were there and we were just trying to hit good shots." Dube, on his part, said he and Jaiswal had planned to finish off the run chase. Jaiswal was, however, dismissed in the 13th over.
"We both are stroke players. He was batting really well. We had a plan that both will be going, so let's finish the match as soon as possible. There was not any target (to finish), but we've finished on time," said Dube, whose 63 not out was decorated with five fours and four sixes.
"There are many things I have worked on. It's not about skill (only)... being focused on every ball is important. I am working on my bowling as well," Dube, who claimed one wicket in the series-opener in Mohali, said.

It was Shivam Dube once again who scored a match-winning 63 not out with a strike rate of almost 200. Jaiswal also scored 68 as India crossed the finish line with 26 balls to spare.

It was a do or die match for Afghanistan in order to stay alive in the 3-match T20I series but a clinical Team India beat the visitors by 6 wickets in Indore and took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.

It was Shivam Dube once again who scored a match-winning 63 not out with a strike rate of almost 200. Jaiswal also scored 68 as India crossed the finish line with 26 balls to spare.

Riding on a flurry of mighty maximums, Shivam Dube and Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed Afghanistan's bowlers to smithereens with swashbuckling half-centuries as India made short work of a 173-run target to win the second T20I by six wickets here on Sunday.
While Yashasvi got out after hammering 68 off 34 balls, including six sixes, Dube ended unbeaten on a 32-ball 63, hitting four maximums in the process.
India completed the chase with 26 balls to spare, taking an unassailable lead in the three-match series.
Gulbadin Naib top-scored with a breezy 35-ball 57 before the lower-order batters Mujeeb Ur Rahman (21 off 9 balls) and Karim Janat (20 off 10) chipped in with useful contributions to lift Afghanistan to 172 all out.
India's chase began on a eventful note that saw a first-ball boundary by Yashasvi Jaiswal, a loud shout for an lbw and an unsuccessful Afghanistan review, and a first-ball duck for Rohit Sharma.
In his first T20I since November 2022, Virat Kohli began with a lovely boundary before Jaiswal smashed Fazalhaq Farooqi for two sixes.
Recreating the famous shot he played against Haris Rauf in the last T20 World Cup at MCG, Kohli hit a short-of-a-length Naveen-ul-Haq delivery back over the bowler's head for a four. On that night in Australia though, it was a six.
Having switched ends, Mujeeb leaked 19 runs with Jaiswal collecting three fours and Kohli one.
However, Naveen-ul-Haq cut short Kohli highly promising stay at the crease by having the maestro caught at mid-off for a 16-ball 29.
Unperturbed by the Kohli's dismissal, the duo of Jaiswal and Dube went about their task in a brutal manner, leaving the Afghan bowlers bruised and battered.
Asked to bat first, Afghanistan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz signalled his intent straightaway and flicked Arshdeep Singh (3/32 in 4 overs) for a four through square leg and then tried to hit one straight down the ground, which however did not result in a boundary.
While Arshdeep started the proceedings with two wides on either side of the wicket, Mukesh Kumar was welcomed with a six over the bowler's head by Gurbaz, before his opening partner Ibrahim Zadran, having got a review for lbw in his favour, got into the act by lofting one over cover for a boundary.
Trailing 0-1 in the three-match series, Afghanistan raced to 20 for no loss in no time, forcing Rohit Sharma to introduce spin in the form of Ravi Bishnoi (2/39 in 4 overs).
Leg-spinner Bishnoi, who has a penchant for picking a wicket in his first over, did an encore as he lured Gurbaz to offer a catch to Shivam Dube at mid-on, having failed to get elevation.
Taking a cue from Gurbaz's approach, one-down batter Gulbadin Naib started to play his shots from the get-go, pulling Mukesh through mid-wicket and then driving him through for successive fours.
Fresh from a wicket in his very first over, Bishnoi found himself at the receiving end of Gulbadin's onslaught as the batter pulled a short ball over deep mid-wicket for a maximum before hitting back-to-back fours in an 18-run over at the Holkar Stadium.
There was another bowling change and it paid dividends as left-arm spinner Axar Patel bowled visiting captain Ibrahim Zadran with a beautiful flighted delivery that turned just enough to beat the batter and hit the stumps.
Azmatullah Omarzai did not last long as Dube hit the stumps after the batter went for a cross-batted pull shot and missed.
Axar bowled an economical eighth over before Gulbadin carted a Dube slower ball into the stands over deep mid-wicket and followed that by launching a half tracker towards the long-on region for another maximum.
Promoted to number three, Gulbadin brought up his fifty in 28 balls. There was no respite for Washington Sundar either, as Gulbadin swept the off-spinner for a big six over deep mid-wicket.
India's best bowler on the day by some distance, Axar (2/17 in 4 overs) provided the crucial breakthrough when he had Gulbadin caught at mid-wicket by Rohit, having bowled one slightly slower than his usual deliveries.
Afghanistan's innings lost momentum after Gulbadin's departure even as Bishnoi dismissed Mohammad Nabi.
